Ja on the free market gets more than he's getting now, even though a number two pick contract isn't small. Same for Doncic.
Bam Adebayo comes to mind, massssssive discount there.
Harrell and Lou Williams jump out.
it's honestly hard to say, after the cap spike it feels like there just aren't that many of those guys as there used to be, and a lot of folks have gotten their extensions now.

Like if a guy is playing at an All-NBA level or close to it on a rookie deal, OK. But if he's just a good player, no, because his salary is a set amount essentially. Also rookie deals are four years long so a guy in his third or fourth year would have to really be spectacular to get a look.

I feel somewhat comfortable talking about basketball again.
Hands down its Giannis who is 42nd in NBA salary. With his production?
Best per in NBA history Lowest minutes avg (30 mins) to score 30 ppg in nba history. Bucks have the best record in the league and on pace to win 70 games. He is making 25 million a year and avg 30+ a game. That’s 1.25 points per 1 million dollars.
Curry is the the highest paid player, and avg 27 points last year. He makes 40 mill a year. That’s 0.67 points per 1 million dollars.
Giannis is the best player in the NBA and reigning MVP and Otto Potter jr is making more than him. Think about that.
Milwaukee better cherish this season, because they have to make him the highest paid player in the nba, but I don’t think they have the resources to do so without gutting the team. They are paying a KiA car note to drive a Ferrari.
Milwaukee is getting a bigger bang for their buck ( no pun intended) on a superstar player more than any other team.
He is making what 2.2 million avg 16 points. That’s 8 points per 1 million dollars.
But I don’t think we can use this scenario since he just got back in the league, same thing with rookie contracts or first year players in general.
It needs to be more about players who have been in the league for multiple years, and teams are getting huge value from their production compared to their salary.

Whether it's simply a shrewdly negotiated and/or well-timed deal for a guy in or near his prime, a rookie deal, a vet coming off a buyout, whatever. Not trying to restrict the discussion

Lou Williams!
Guy is making 8 mil a year avg 20 points a game!
He has never made more than 10 mil a year while in the league. Shit is pure robbery. I don’t know if his agent needs to be shot, or he could make more money elsewhere but does not want to be on bad teams or live in certain cities. I remember hearing that on a podcast. He is more concerned about where he plays as oppose to the amount of money he is making.
