We get it, you played football and can predict plays... and even when you predict them wrong it doesn’t matter.
Just tell us what happened and not what you think will happen.

But the TE from Dallas was hooorible.
I also think Black athletes who get a chance in the booth are judged much more harshly over dumb shit.
Deion Sanders called a game one time and he was great. I enjoyed it. But people were quick to complain because it was Deion.
The praise for Romo is what I don’t get. I’m sure any QB or player who watched film can predict most plays but for why?

I was a fan of Deion on NFL Network. Also BRYANT GUMBEL during that brief period he was calling the NFL. People sleep but he was throwing good darts. He was almost on some Gus "GOAT" Johnson shit

... and he's good, but I can't but think that he's only so well thought of because his producers gave him the go ahead to actually talk strategy. I would think any football player with a sound enough understanding of strategy to be an analyst could do what he does.
His fame, if you want to call it that, seems to be a product of how dumbed down sports coverage is now. He stands out more because he actually talks football. Kind of, a one eyed man in a world of people with no eyes is king, sort of thing.
Or people are just shocked that Romo is 'cerebral' because he never said anything that painted him as a football nerd while he played. Fans collectively like, 'Romo actually knows what he's talking about???!!! His play didn't suggest that.' Ha!

over the course of a 3 hour game.
So he gets points for that. Other players sometime get the stutters or have dead air because they forget to chime in.

It's one of the underrated aspects of the job - continually talking and avoiding dead air time.
Maybe I'm not as much of a fan of his because the hype surrounding his work was immediate. He wasn't working and building up experience like some analysts. But he's good tho, just not great. To me.

https://twitter.com/frntofficesport/status/1216549061442011139 ------ SCOOP: ESPN is preparing an offer that would make Tony Romo the highest-paid sportscaster in TV history, with a multi-year deal that would pay him between $10 million to $14 million annually, according to sources.

He aight but nothing special.
I think any QB with decent verbiage could spoil play calling by predicting plays and being right half the time.
