You know who a FFP or no? We all said if it couldn't be done with that coach and that roster then...maybe we should accept the reality. Extreme talent, not an FP...or = FFP.

New team was a 6th seed last season so they should be better right? They not. Kawhi joined an 8 seed and they better.

Same energy or nah? All moot cause...ring (probably)? But I'm saying...

Didn't score in the final 3:31 of the game.
- Missed last 19 3-point shots.
- Out-scored 52-32 in the 2nd half.
- Kyrie missed 4 of his final 5 shots.
- Joe Harris (49%) took 4 3-pointers.

Kyrie has:

- career high PPG
- career high RPG
- career high APG
- career low turnover rate
- leads the Nets in VORP
- leads the Nets in +/-
- leads the Nets in total win shares
- leads the Nets in win shares per 48
- has higher VORP than Kemba
- has higher +/- than Kemba
- has higher win shares than Kemba
- is averaging 3.5 PPG more than Kemba
- is averaging 2.5 APG more than Kemba

But yes, he did miss some shots at the end of that game. It's not like he made any shots to win games earlier this year.

the talent around them?

Also, he's hella more inefficient that he was last season:

+4 shot attempts
+4% usage
-4% FG
-6% 3pt
-3% 2pt
-5% EFG%
-2% TS%
and his defensive ratings are worse this year.

Nets are scoring 4pts more than they did last year but they are giving up 7pts more.

Shooting more, shooting worse, playing D worse. Career highs mean nothing if they are at the expense of winning.

Kemba's doing a little less and his efficiency is up. Guys like Hayward, Tatum and Brown are doing more (EVERYBODY's shot attempts are waaay up). Team is excelling. (I know some of those shots come from Horford and Morris also but it looks like maybe the talent should have been spread a little more last year as this year 4 guys are taking 14+ shots per game and last yr only 1 did).

Nets? Rumblings about moods in China, team playing inconsistent, sit at 4-7 now. Last yr, team was 5-6 at the same point.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

That he leads the team in VORP? In win shares? In +/-?

Like, if this was a Wiggins pre-this month thing, I'd get it. But the numbers all say he's the team most valuable player by a healthy margin.

People said "oh he'll never be a 7 assist per game guy!" He is. *And* he's top ten in the NBA in assist rate.

His usage is high (7th in the NBA)... but who else should have that usage? The second most minutes have been played by Joe Harris. The second most points have been scored by Spencer Dinwiddie. He's not running with Bron and Love, or even with Tatum and Brown.

Like, Kemba routinely rocked a ~35 win season in the East, but he was always the best player on the floor, so he got passes. Kyrie is obviously the best player on the floor with the Nets, has made the winning shots in several games... but doesn't get those passes. The downside of being a ring-holder, I guess.

He's supposed to lead them, in every way. But his leadership doesn't seem to be making the nets better. He joined a playoff team, not a lotto squad.

I'm fairly confident he lead the Celtics in most of the same shit.

Team sputtered.

>People said "oh he'll never be a 7 assist per game guy!" He
>is. *And* he's top ten in the NBA in assist rate.

7apg was the agenda mark set by you know who. Was just ironic he set it then ignored it when it came to his guy.

>His usage is high (7th in the NBA)... but who else should have
>that usage? The second most minutes have been played by Joe
>Harris. The second most points have been scored by Spencer
>Dinwiddie. He's not running with Bron and Love, or even with
>Tatum and Brown.

Team made the playoffs and were better at this point last season. They should be better by adding him. Kawhi makes the clippers look like contenders by himself, then PG comes back from surgery and does the same thing without kawhi. But for dude it's "wait until Durant comes back before we decide the nets should be winning/better".

Ok fam... Cool.

>Like, Kemba routinely rocked a ~35 win season in the East, but

>Kyrie is obviously the best player on the floor with the Nets,
>has made the winning shots in several games... but doesn't get

Yet Kemba seems more like a dude who can blend in and lead a team. Even if he's no where as good as the guy who held his job last season.

The question is if he can regain his elite Robin status once whatever KD exists after rehab returns to the court or not. Because he can still cook. Tremendous finisher, great handle, ballsy in the clutch (usually). But he'll never be the Zeke or Magic type guy and hey let's face it we haven't seen one since Zeke and Magic.

And you will know MY JACKET IS GOLD when I lay my vengeance upon thee.

last year the nets were ranked 8th in passes per game

this year they are 28th and run no semblance of an offense.

jay williams even admitted they run a stale and ineffective offense with kyrie

all those stats you mentioned...idgaf about his career highs. the team looks like SHIT with him running it..and I get a full HD view of him acting like a cunt towards his teammates, as a season ticket holder sitting 8 rows up

Toronto's start has been incredible, but I don't know that its sustainable. Van Vleet is balling like a mid 70's Tiny Archibald. They have a mystery man step up every night. Does that work in June?

Another team I like is Orlando- I think they turned a corner last night. They are better than 5-7 or whatever they are right now.

EVERY SINGLE OTHER VARIABLE is removed when talking about the guy

I saw people make excuses about the supporting casts of every PG of his generation when they didn’t make the playoffs, but somehow he was supposed to carry Earl Clark and Luke Harangody into the postseason

Why didn’t Steph carry his team his first 3 years?

Wall his first 3?

Why Russ ain’t make the playoff his first year? Was it two? I forgot.

NOW...here’s the Celtics thing

All summer “oh, they gon miss Horford more than Kyrie.”

Why I ain’t hearing shit about how little Horford meant now? Seems Theis and Kandee better than him and Baynes.

No allowance for the reality of Hayward’s full health or Tatum and Brown’s improvement.

Always very reductive when it comes to Kyrie.

Meanwhile, Steph wasn’t doing SHIT without Klay and his supporters lucky as fuck he got hurt because he was getting exposed something comical.

Kyrie’s ring and his finals performance is unrefundable, so y’all can fuck right off with your goofy “second fiddle” polemic Hail Mary bullshit. Your niggas WISH second fiddles for your faves could be that transcendent when the moment comes.

enjoy your narrative, because i'd be just fine with the nets getting a lottery pick with KD coming back next year.

So your response to Jay Williams saying Kemba a better fit is to say the team won't be any more than your guy got them to and you're happy to watch your guy lose to be a 2nd banana again next yr? Ok then I guess that answers the question that was asked way back, is he a fake franchise player...

Good to see we're growing in our convictions.

24. "AD is clearly not as good as LeBron"
In response to Reply # 22

But I do believe that once he learns how to win from LeBron, he has the potential to actually lead a team. It'll be a second banana ring unless he somehow has an MVP year where it makes everyone say he's clearly the best player on the Lakers. But it'll count regardless.

>and i'mma be on cole anthony ass more than you've ever hated
>on kyrie, becauee this type behavior warrants it.

Type of behavior? We had this discussion:
http://board.okayplayer.com/okp.php?az=show_topic&forum=8&topic_id=2620635&mesg_id=2620635&listing_type=search#2620813

You said he shows up at every stage. But he didn't in Boston with a top 3 coach, world class org with savvy front office and a loaded roster of young and veteran talent. Then basically whined about how hard it was to be a leader and skated out of town the first chance he got.

Now he's in Brooklyn on a playoff team that Russell got a 6th seed but you don't think they should be better and want them to tank until Durant get back? Like really? Shouldn't the Nets be challenging Mil and Philly in the East with Rie alone?

A while back we were discussing fake franchise players, you fried my guys, I put Rie on notice and here we are. 27, fresh out of f*cking excuses and y'all baby wiping the guys buttcheeks on some "he can't be expected to lead a team without the 2nd best player in the game!"

This is what it's come to? Cool. FFP (witharing) <---giving the respect he deserves.

All you and Frank had to say was "yeah, maybe it ain't in him to carry a squad like that but he's a deadly 1b or sidekick" and all is well. But no; pleas, pleas, pleas. Not gonna hold him to standards because he got a robin-ring. Word?

>since i can't be honest and say rose was never gonna be what
>you bammas swear he was gonna be anyway without everyone
>screaming bloody murder, ill pick on UNCs greatest hope for a
>star player in the last 3 decades.

And if I ever Cyse Cole Anthony like you do Rie, I'd be ok with you pointing out his short comings. But since I like Cole but ain't sure who he will be as a pro yet, feel free. I'll laugh knowing it's hurt feelings over your FFP (witharing).

Aye fam...and one for the road: Danny Green might retire with more rings than FFP (witharing).

on a title winning or contending team. Which were the criterion you set as to what a franchise player is. Those that don't meet that standard but get touted because of good stats/accomplishments are...per Basaglia...fake franchise players.

Right?

Allstars, MVPs, ROYS, All-NBA's don't matter...if they fake.

He did his thing when the lights were on, but he ain't a franchise player.

>you ain't gon have the RIGHT to cyse cole, nigga. you be lucky
>if he lawson status.

That's fair. UNC ain't got a long recent track record with star pros. I'm sound enough to admit that. Hopefully that tide is changing.

But can you fix your fingers to say Rie ain't true #1 and likely never will be?

Steph wasn't the best player on the W's in 2014-2015? You are f*cking lying. And the separation was even WIDER in the playoffs. Media screwed him out of his finals MVP that year too.

https://www.basketball-reference.com/teams/GSW/2015.html

Rose knees didn't hold up so he is what he is. And he lead a team to the ECF as the best player, snagged an MVP too.

Kyrie suckled another dudes tit to a title and hasn't gotten past the 2nd round without LeBron James on his team. Now he gonna be Durant's sidepiece too because as talented as he is, he ain't a leader and he's a fake franchise player. Danny Green ain't either but I party like hell when he gets rings so I understand your point.

I'm glad you were able to finally (yet reluctantly) admit your boy a FFP (witharing). This is gratifying. I appreciate you being a stand up bruh Basa.

I'll leave Rie to his Robin-ring chasing now.

***But you know, if Rie don't win a ring with Durant, yet Steph won 2...how that's gonna look right?

Honestly, AB, I said I lot of wild shit after that shot went in and made my guy a champ and legend. I don’t remember most of it. Just like y’all were proclaiming rose a young GOAT after his pedestrian “great” numbers (niggas put up better numbers every year, B...they did that year) made him the youngest MVP.

If you need to dig up every wild proclamation I made during my summer of bliss to try to tear down Kyrie legacy, I ain’t gon stop you player. This an off year for me and I’m chillin. I shouldn’t have even been sucked in this must because I been ignoring most of y’all dumb shit.

But when your boy called to the carpet on a legit agenda you play coy and mature adult on chill mode.

You do realize we been arguing about Kyrie being a fake franchise player since 2013...you sh*tted on AD, Rose, Curry (AFTER he won a ring and 2 MVP's) and anyone else you could get your hands on about how they should be measured but when the same scope is placed over Kyrie's TEAM success, you're silent and defensive.

Auto-jump behind LeBron's assisted ring. You actually said Curry wasn't a franchise player in 2014-15 fam. The year he WON a title as the best player on a contender.

>Honestly, AB, I said I lot of wild shit after that shot went

Say it...LeBron saved Kyrie's whole legacy. Because you know damn well, without that "I'm going home" post-Miami thing, Kyrie a more accomplished Dame Lillard...MAYBE because I still don't know how far Kyrie could lead any team. At least Dame Bye-Bye'd PG, Russ and Joker to WCF birth.

>If you need to dig up every wild proclamation I made during my

That's just it though, this ain't about the Kyrie ring. You started this fight waaaaaaaaaaay before that. I did quick search of this broke ass search function and found you being spicy back to 2013.

Consider this part of the walk down. Rie a FFP.

You literally just said that.

Are you this full of shit in real life?

Bottom line is the Celts looked better pre-Kyrie and
now post-Kyrie. That is a huge L- even for you.

The Nets look worse with him. Hoping to look
the same as with D-lo. D-lo!! lol lol

And...you just said this year doesn’t count lol lol

I’m crying.

You want to make it about Dame, but meanwhile
you’re ducking the fact that lil Zeke AND Kemba
make your guy look bad at this point.

“Dear ky, did you get my last letter? The guys online

and I genuinely wish him the best. From a statistical standpoint he's balling, and I agree with those who say this season is pretty much a wash for the Nets.

BUT... the better the Celts look with Kemba the worse a look it is for Kyrie. There's just no way around it. Replacing Kyrie with Kemba and losing Horford SHOULD make us worse, but we've looked great so far.

I'm tempering my enthusiasm cause there's still a lot of basketball left and I'm nervous about our lack of size, but Kemba looks like a much better leader and he compliments Tatum and Brown WAY better.

broad brigade that is jilted Knicks-Nation, it's not looking too good with these widening trajectories between the Nets and the Celtics.

I agree that we do have to wait until next year and hope the team doesn't implode before then, but as of right now, the Nets' identity as a scrappy overachiever with a gritty teamwork approach is just not looking consistent year over year with Kyrie instead of D-Lo.

that spoke volumes to me as a teammate.

People on here defended that shit. Never made sense to me.

Dude is selfish and it shows on the court and in the locker room.

Dude is nice but he isn’t someone you build a team around.

TBH the fact that you're even a mod here fits squarely within Jag's narrative of OK-sanctioned aggression, bullying, and toxicity. *shrug*

-The Knicks’ coaching search still includes a lone frontrunner, Kurt Rambis, whose qualifications for the position include a strong relationship with Jackson and a willingness to take the job.
