Yes he is a beast and will get numbers. However you have to be concern about his injury history and now he is dealing with a bad shoulder, and will be dependent upon every night.

Lakers looked good last night, especially the defense with three bigs. It’s just that they are going to have to work hard every night, and considering AD has yet to play a full season without getting injured, that has to be a concern. The lakers don’t have the luxury or the bench to load manage. One of them has to be on the court when the other one isn’t . Frank learned against the clippers when they both Sat, and the clippers destroyed them from there, because that second unit is garbage.

Also the shooting was abysmal, and you guys are supposed to have great 3 point shooters with Green, Bradley, and Daniels. That has to be consistent.

Kuzma has to be that Lou Williams for them . Period. So that they can load manage and have a bench that will be able to score.

Lakers are probably the third best team in the NBA and second best in the West. The potential is there to win a ring ...or it I could all go wrong. It’s either going to be great or bad.

How is Kuzma going to start? That’s not going to work, Bradley leading the bench? He is not a scorer or consistent and that bench is bad scoring wise

AD does not want to play center. He used to be a guard, so as a skillful bigman playing slightly away from the basket is how dominated, because no other big man can move like him. And he is likely to get injured playing the 5

Kuzma is too big for the 2

Your starting line up is going to to be. McGee/ AD/ Bron/ Green/ Rondo...has to be.

Green has to start at the 2 for his 3 point shooting and defense, so he can’t come of the bench to let lebron play the 2 so Kuzma can play the 3.

Only way to start Kuzma is for AD to play center... which he does not and will not do. Kuzma in the Lou Williams role is the only thing that makes sense.

Unless rondo comes off the bench and lebron starts at the 1

PG- Lebron
SG- Green
SF- Kuzma
PF- AD
C- McGee

LeBron advocating to run the point before training camp even started was him trying to accomplish 3 things....1. He wanted the ball in his hands as a facilitator and felt at this point he was best served in that role... 2. It allows AD to remain at the Power Forward position. 3. It allows Kuzma to start at the SF...

The Lakers Finishing line up would likely have AD at the 5 with Bradley and Green in the backcourt..

but Kuzma is starting ...he's your best #3 scoring option..and that starting line up is going to be a monster to guard for any team...

Okay. Right that is the only way that I could see it. Rondo not starting.

But lebron running the point to me is just going to break down his body even faster. That’s a lot of work.

I just dont see that being positive to load management an injury prone PF and an very old super star.

Definitely top 3 team. But will they stay healthy and will the bench be able to compete with the clippers, buck and Philly.

I love the defense though.

you're right about LeBron potentially breaking down...but I could see this as a positive in that his defense south of the free throw line last year was non-existent..he was actually a liability on Defense.... I think one thing that threw us off last year is that we went in believing Lebron could play the 4 defensively.... with Kuzma at the 3.... Kuz came in slimmed down, ready to guard 3s.... then we realize Lebron simply couldn't defend the anymore, and we had to move a slimmer Kuzma back to the 4...

now with Lebron being in the backcourt...AND Kuzma playing the 3..you can match up in ways that Lebron doesn't hurt you as much on defense..

for example I was thinking when we play like the Blazers..or any team with 2 good guards.... Green would guard Lillard...then either Lebron or Kuzma could guard McCollum.... I know it sounds crazy having Lebron guard 2s...but I think between he and Kuzma...we can figure out a way to make the least "bad" match up work....

that's why having solid defenders like Bradley come right in off the bench, is going to be huge for us..

..started the season missing a few vital pieces to the game plan, but working through this adversity early will only help them down the stretch when everyone is banged up and pushing for playoff position.

AD put on a show for 3 qtrs and was able to sit out the 4th (efficiency AND rest).

*Also: good to see the bench working to find chemistry & rhythm. The patience shown by the vets & coaching staff last night was extremely encouraging.

Dude, Jokic is 15/6/12 as a big.

Had a triple double yesterday 10-10-10. He is possibly the best passing big man in the league right now.

Not new. Toronto did it all last year with Kawhi. They have that luxury due to other players having the ability to take over games. Lou, Harrell, Beverly, shamet, harkless

That’s just the European body type with bigs. aryvidis was the same way..
They focus more on shooting and passing and positioning than athleticism and dunking.

Either way they are going to dominate you.

Fat and lazy?

But they are filling up the stat sheet and teams are winning

Gasol won a chip last year with his fat and lazy.

That’s simply their natural ( NON PED) weight....unlike a certain big in Phoenix.

AND THEY DONT GET INJURED or need load balance ...like your ADs or Joel’s

I’m black. And race has nothing to do with it.

Gasol did contribute. Those points and passing add up.

You’re making this a race thing and that’s sad.

Gasol at one point was the best passing big man in the league as as best big man at Memphis . They can play . Lets just leave it at that.

Stop with the agendas and enjoy the game.

You: Jokic, Marc Gasol, Arvydas can be fat because they are European.

Me: Them being European has nothing to do when them being fat and lazy

Give those same pleas to Embiid when he dumbs out on jollof rice and goat for an entire off-season.

It all comes down to games played. Isn’t much of a debate who I’d rather have for the playoffs though, particularly not with Fatboy Slim apparently eating all the donuts this summer.

...I honestly think that Jokic is at an elite tier that makes him arguably as good as or better than anyone. Certainly in spurts.

Embiid is the same.

Giannis, meh.

Luka, almost there.

It's close but what he gives you on the defensive ends is miles better than Jokic and what Jokic gives on the offensive end is just clearly better than Embiid. Jokic is way more fluid running the O through him, although the top end of what Embiid gives you there is every bit as good. But at the other end of the floor? Sheeeeeit. One guy is a top 5 defensive player in the league and the other guy barely moves the needle.

And you will know MY JACKET IS GOLD when I lay my vengeance upon thee.

1.Clippers
2.Bucks ( i know hungry when I see it. they are hungry)
3.Lakers ( The are big inside. If you can't shoot, you're in trouble)
4. Philly. ( Solid squad, good depth, defense, etc. But Imbid can't play every night)
5. Houston/Portland ( Both teams look the same as last year, and the year before that, put up a lot of points, but no defense to close the show).

Raptors: Still got some top players, Siakam is a beast, could get back to the Eastern Conference Finals. But losing Kawhi will be too much to overcome.

Pacers: Solid team, could make some noise.

Boston: a lot of great individual scoring pieces, but that's it.

Miami: Could be a huge sleeper, but too young, and not enough superstars. But got some serious defense inside and out, and tons of athletic players

Utah/ Denver: Mirror image of each other

Golden State: Playing for next year.

Young, fun teams to watch, but no chance in hell: Pelicans, Bulls, Knicks, Suns, Griz, Hornets

Players I'm loving right now: Kelly Oubre, Jr./ Brandon Ingram. Both are turning into beasts on both sides of the ball.

-The Knicks’ coaching search still includes a lone frontrunner, Kurt Rambis, whose qualifications for the position include a strong relationship with Jackson and a willingness to take the job.

Lol what the fuck?

Dude just had him in a headlock because he was frustrated he had been getting washed in the court. That’s the definition of being a bitch. You get mad cause you’re getting outplayed and can’t do anything about it except fight.

Then you start with a headlock, end up being the one who gets taken down, then you kick your legs like a 6 yr old as you get tapped out by a Australian pg

Lmao this is so hilarisad

These two plays happen right before you start a fight— you lost.

Look how calm Emboid is after he drops that bucket. He ain’t worried about nobody, he’s just having fun playing ball.

because I see a whole lot of aggro pushing from Embiid before KAT does anything significant. It also appears that Embiid goes for KAT's neck before the headlock.

because Jimmy Butler plays for the Heat now....

I haven't scoured the internets yet today, but I did see memes and the like clowning both Simmons and Embiid for their actions last night... it reinforced the idea that both Embiid and Simmons are really Soft..

which is interesting because that was a label KAT had previously...but now with the eye poking, teenage girl-like celebration, and putting a chokehold on someone laying flat on their stomach... all that help KAT shake the soft label..

They are straight clowning on the copper warriors right about now.

Warriors just don’t have pieces to keep up every night. Willy Cauley is their only hope.

On the low though, love and Thompson out here killing cats in the paint. I think we are seeing a return of the inside game like we are seeing a return of smash mouth football.

and they might want to diversify the offense beyond so much horns use. But the defense is crazy. bringing in Rubio actually lets Booker do what he does best. it's a wonder what an actual system and some modest personnel changes do to a basketball team.

of course, if this team had Luka right now... shit.

Finally, fun on the Suns again.

Fizdale is still experimenting with the line up. Gotta be hard for the younger players to know what in the world is going on with the constant shifts in playing time.

I hope Fizdale eventually figures out what in the world he's going to do.

RE: Embiid Owns KAT

I don't know what feed ya'll use to watch the game

But the local broadcast ran a story pre-game about KAT and Co. pulling over at the art museum and doing the rocky stairs, posing, etc...

https://www.crossingbroad.com/2019/10/the-timberwolves-ran-up-the-art-museum-steps-cue-the-sixers-by-50-tweets.html

RoCo should know better

That didn't work out too well when the Vikings tried the same troll job vs the Iggles during our SB run

How you gonna puff up your chest and have NO HANDS!!!

Look, we own the TWolves

They got washed by +40 in the last game, and this is the 6th straight loss vs the 6ers

as has already been pointed out, Jo was having his way with KAT

walking him into the lane and getting any shot he wanted at will

They go down 20, KAT turns the ball over...and ya'll in here defending this clown

BITCHASSNESS.

+1, looks like some 6ers have been using MMA training...jump up to get beatdown...if that's how you feel

F'N loved it

Where was this passion last year? KAT is not playing games with anyone this year and with the shits.

Someone light a fire under Wiggins.

Cavs beating the Bulls is good news because we're losing a lot this year.

I hope the Lakers continue to manage Bron and AD's minutes like this. Give Bron games off to rest.

watching my boy Sexton cut to the basket and POSTERIZE motherfuckers was a beautiful thing. Garland been showing out too.

KPJ finally got to cash in on that energy he's got. He got in a good sequence too. BLOCK at the rim, caught the rebound, ran all the way to the other end of the court and DUNKED. I love how he plays defense.

But the real story a few games in is that TT and Kevin Love are running the fuck outta this team.

Belein is actually putting in a damn system and it's wonderful to watch. Even Clarkson gotta pass the ball now and then.

if Thad was still on the Pacers though, Cavs would have caught that L. That dude is a quality-ass player on the Bulls.

As are Coby and Zach. The Bulls are a few pieces (and maybe some coaching) away from being a nuisance

Yes, I'm mad. Let's move on.

Maybe KAT get an ejection or one game for starting it. Not sure how Embiid was supposed to respond there. No punches thrown. Simmons disguised a little aggression there but c'mon. That was just a little garden-variety rec cen dust-up, can't believe that shit passed for a "big fight."

Jovic out there running the point and doing bounces passes.
Making fat and lazy look easy

That dude is skilled as fuck. Plays just like Sabonis.

On the real Euro players are smarter players. They play with the intelligence of old school nba players. They play slow and use it as an advantage. It’s like they use Kevin Mchale’s style of play as a reference teaching tool when teaching euro players the game of basketball.

They are either big with some pudge( jokic/gasol) or skinny with no muscles ( porzingis /dirk)

They just know how to play with the body that they have.
