I would say that you are partially correct. But once they started going with 2 tight ends to absorb the pressure that gave Rivers time to throw.
They weren't just giving it to them, by giving them a chance to win it with a 1:20 to go.

Had this penciled in as a loss, even after last week, but we took the spiked bat to these days in the own house, even down two linemen and our fullback. Defense was everywhere. Had no problem pounding the rock. Kittle gets an 100-yard game. Looking damn good.
