“Work on our games” sounded like he wants it as easy as possible to get buckets. Bringing doubles takes it beyond a little bullshit meaningless pickup game and makes it more real and beneficial.

2. "Was this an actual practice, or were they just fucking around?" In response to Reply # 0
It's been hard for me to tell, because it seems to be characterized differently by different people. Like, was this scrimmage for actual improvement and game craft? Or was it just to stay loose?
Cuz if it's the latter, then sure, tell the guys doubling to fuck off. Not trying to get hurt when just fucking around. But if it was meant to help everyone get better, then dude, you're going to face doubles all season long. May as well practice how to escape them.
Ultimately, it seems like Devin wanted to treat it more lightly, and Joakim, beautiful dickhead that he is, wasn't going to let someone beat him in any sort of scrimmage, ever, period. I can't act like I *wouldn't* double a player like Devin in that scenario, but I can see how different players could be handling the same scrimmage differently and thus have different takes on the "etiquette" of the situation. *shrug*

at least once, if he was that annoyed by it.
I don’t see the “take it easy” angle. That applies on fouls/rough play. Someone does something dangerous, fouls you on purpose as you get to the rack, etc. you got a right to be heated in a pickup run or practice.

Especially when a rack of dudes on the side with winners. Nobody gives a damn about you wanting to work on your iso moves and shit, get with your trainer for that. "It's part of the game", enough said.

1) Dude has killed multiple people on switch off D's. Like 3-5 buckets in a row going to 11 and 2-3 people have switched to slow him down and it ain't working for nobody.
2) Scouting report is you're the man on your team and an ISO is pretty much a bucket...and it's game point. Somebody else gonna have to win that game bruh.

It’s not pick-up in the sense of me, you, the Marine and some other cats are at 24 Hour fitness hooping.
If you watch enough of these pro runs on YouTube (and yes I do) you’ll understand the goal for the players are to work on things in your game (try new shit) and run up and down the court.
You can’t do that if you’re being doubled on the catch. Also you don’t work on your defense if you’re requesting a double.
There’s no tough defense, no hard contests, and there are plenty of easy layups.
If you go into the game under that premise, then he was right.
And like he said later on, if he wanted to work on passing out of double teams, he could’ve done that home.
You can do that with a couple of buddies and/or your trainer all day. Or work on that by watching film.

-The Knicks’ coaching search still includes a lone frontrunner, Kurt Rambis, whose qualifications for the position include a strong relationship with Jackson and a willingness to take the job.

You lighting cats up and you want people to KEEP letting that happen? Nah
Even if it's light and you working on your game, if you can't perfect your craft in situations against regular ballers, you think cats in the LEAGUE is gonna let you just G-off? Sheeeiitt (c) Clay Davis
