I know it doesn't answer the LA question but you may find a more exuberant experience out there.

He went to high school in Moreno Valley and Riverside.

So a better, more exuberant experience could potentially be had there, or in San Diego.

But hey, you do whatever weird gymnastics you need to keep yourself entertained
