I actually didn't realize how much Jokic had already sewed this up until I ran that through. Damn. And leading a team with no other HOF's on a deep run the first go-round (as opposed to getting swept WITH a great cast)? And with those numbers. Wow. This is really easy.

Like sure, Melo’s run in Denver didn’t get them a title like they dreamed it would... but cmon, the man is a legend and you gave away his number just a few years after he left (and while he’s still playing)? Look at their retired number list. Melo absolutely did enough to be honored with that group.
I could almost understand if Jokic was already a star on another team and THEN went to the Nuggets and requested 15, but at the time he was just a 2nd round pick and no one knew he’d play at this level. Tell him to pick ANY other number.

At this point, Melo's departure should be reconciled and his legacy as a Nugget should be celebrated by all Nuggets fans. But Denver sports fans are real damn stupid.

3 All-NBA teams, 3 All-Star teams, 1 MVP, and an Olympic silver medal for Serbia. No MVP has been left out of the HOF yet.
To put it another way, that other post had some people saying "it's close" for Derrick Rose, and Jokic's resume is already unquestionably better than Rose's.
Do I think his HOF resume today is better than Melo's? No, because Melo's played three times as many seasons as Jokic, and longevity plays a massive role in the HOF. But I also don't blame any Nugget fan for saying Jokic's accomplishments in a Nugget uniform has been better than Melo's. Even setting aside the MVP (which you can't do), Melo never made first team All-NBA as a Nugget, whereas Jokic has done it twice.
