"You’re the GSW ownership, do you choose to keep Kerr or KD?"

https://youtu.be/qfDpIQJzikw

KD is obviously pissed about something. After seeing this, it’s even more apparent that KD’ll be gone after this year unless GSW ownership chooses him over Kerr.

Did KD show any of these traits while in OKC?

GSW got embarrassed and none of them are happy about it.

..Kerr gave criticism of the team (players, coaches, etc), while addressing the media. He mentioned everything from lack of intensity & effort, to cuts & coaching decisions about personnel.

The media chose to focus on "intensity & anger" and questioned Durant about it.

Durant simply disagreed and said "..all around, our coaches & players have to be better..."

In case you missed it: Kerr & Durant agreed in the overall assessment of the game. They were clearly embarrassed in the loss. (who wouldn't be?)

Durant was only agitated by the repeated questions/reminders about why he came to GSW (the Ron Adams reference, etc).

*Newsflash: Kevin Durant does not like the media.

He's said as much all season. He's been showing y'all how divisive the media can be and how they literally turn sound bites into stories about nothing.

Just like this post.

you do?

All that other bs you talking ain’t an answer.

It appeared to me that Durant was taking a shot. It appears to me that Durant is leaving. It appears that ownership would have to make a choice between the two.

You think anybody really cares about why Durant can’t stand them?

Dude is a phenomenal player despite him giving off some bitchassedness vibes.

..while I continue collecting banners, rings, & trophies. LOL

That press conference (or any other) has no bearing on Durants decision to stay or go. The same team that you claim has to "make a choice" has been courting Durant all season, working to convince him to stay.

As far as Kerr's job status goes: last time i checked, you don't get fired for winning.

But by all means, continue with your ridiculous notions.

https://bleacherreport.com/articles/2844032-stephen-a-kevin-durant-didnt-have-the-greatest-relationship-with-steve-kerr

Much of the talk regarding Kevin Durant's decision to leave the Golden State Warriors this summer has revolved around the idea the Dubs were Stephen Curry's team and that Durant felt underappreciated in the Bay Area.

But ESPN's Stephen A. Smith said on First Take on Wednesday that there was also tension between Durant and head coach Steve Kerr.

"Kevin Durant did not have the greatest relationship with Steve Kerr," Smith said. "He wasn't too fond of Steve Kerr at all. I don't know the particulars, but I do know that."

"KD was not feeling Steve Kerr. At all," Smith added.

It isn't the first time Durant and Kerr have reportedly had some rocky spots in their relationship, though it hasn't been a prevalent theme. Ethan Strauss of The Athletic wrote the following Sunday:

"However the exit came, Durant left the Warriors because he eventually wasn't all that happy here, despite the rings. If he was, he would have stayed and reaped a bigger paycheck on a better roster. I don't think I'm breaking news here for people who watched the team every day. Beyond the tensions with Kerr and the public spat with Draymond, this had ceased to be a fulfilling situation."

..I don't think people see the bigger picture.

Durant joined GSW to win a ring. He agreed to stay to get more rings.

Now that he's done that (and will likely get a 3rd this summer), I can see him moving on to other goals. The Warriors aren't giving up Klay without a fight (they've made several subtle comments about it, since Kev's arrival).

That said, Durant has all the leverage in the world right now. He can continue to be a hired gun or take on the challenge of leading his own team to a championship.

The Knicks? If the media bothers him now what would the NY media do to him? (Btw ditto for Kyrie)

The Lakers? The league would never allow he and Lebron to be on the same team

The Wizards? Please! That team is doomed until Wall’s contract runs out

Back to OKC? I can’t see that ever happening

This offseason will be even more competitive for free agents than the two previous LeBron-fueled FA markets (when he signed in Miami and when he went back to Cleveland). You've got the Lakers, Clippers, Mavs, Pacers, Hawks, Nets, Kings and I guess the Suns will all have cap space to burn. The Celtics and Sixers could be players under certain circumstances. Hard to say exactly what KD wants but there are plenty of places he could go that either have a competitive team or a young team on the way looking for a No. 1 guy who's a vet.

And you will know MY JACKET IS GOLD when I lay my vengeance upon thee.

I addressed the Lakers, despite recent developments I just don't see the Clippers becoming a major FA destination, ditto for the Pacers and Kings.

Teams like the Mavs and the Suns have potential but I think they're still a few years away and I don't see KD wasting his prime years waiting for that. Ditto for Atlanta who you would think would be a prime FA destination for other reasons but guys don't seem to want to play there.

The Nets are doubtful for some of the same reasons as the Knicks but just a less glamorous franchise.

I could see the Clips fucking around and landing three marquee players or the two best ones likely to move with Leonard and Davis. They are well-positioned with assets to make trades and they have a huge fucking pile of cap space for both trades and signings. They have great ownership and competent management, too. What is holding them back?

Agreed on PHX (also Sac which I may not have mentioned) and Atlanta, but of course nothing says they stay the course if a better opportunity comes up. The Mavs are a little different, they are further along in their process than either of those teams and also have a strong organization, which the other two don't really.

>The Nets are doubtful for some of the same reasons as the
>Knicks but just a less glamorous franchise.

The Knicks could bring in a tandem and they must know something to have their deal. I don't think they they did it for Middleton and some other not-max-player-but-max-salary guy. The Nets are on the rise and can also potentially sign two max guys. I don't love either destination for KD but other than maybe PHX I wouldn't rule any of these out outright. For the record, I think KD will stay, but not because of any lack of suitable suitors.

And you will know MY JACKET IS GOLD when I lay my vengeance upon thee.

-The Knicks’ coaching search still includes a lone frontrunner, Kurt Rambis, whose qualifications for the position include a strong relationship with Jackson and a willingness to take the job.

You keep KD at all costs.

I personally think he's leaving. And the reason I think he's leaving is because he's very much aware of the criticism against him joining a 73 win team, how championships have not brought him the level of content he thought he'd have, and because I'm clearly an armchair psychologist - I think he's going to go somewhere and try to build a championship pedigree instead of joining up with one.

But that's just my theory. He shouldn't leave, of course, but I think he will.

Earlier this week the big story was "Kyrie hates his team, they can't win with him! He's leaving!" Then Boston blows out Golden State. Now the big story is "KD hates his coach, he's leaving!" Next the Warriors will blow out some really good team. And the heat will go somewhere else. It's so exhausting and so pointless.

I'm sure Kyrie, KD, and many other quality players will see how the playoffs go before making *any* decisions about anything. And reading into things they say after losses when they're understandably pissed off about losing... I think that's an exercise in futility imo.
