"Y’all told me Lebron would run the offense and share the ball"

And it’s not even December and Windy ran dat “it’s the same damn Bron offense” article. Explain yourselves.

Note: this ain’t even a subtweet at Basa and his limp dread scrubby gunner. I’m waiting until All Star to run the drive by on allllllllllll duke swingmen.

is his teams don't run any offense he really is on the Iverson plan with a better FG percentage.

Meaning they play ISO ball.

It's a strength of sorts because in playoffs they can slow the game down except for when they get to teams that can shoot extremely well.

because his ball dominant style turns them into part-time spot up shooters or spectators.. At least he's older so he can't do it all game like he used too tho..

Since we’re missing our second point guard, Bron has been handling the ball more? Headline news. In the same time span, our pace has been 26th in the league with a bottom 1/3 off rating. We haven’t been winning because Lebron “took over”, our offense has gotten significantly worse in that time span but we’ve been much better defensively (5th in def rating).

Let’s do a little research here before we start spouting Windy’s trash takes. That goes for both Lakers and non-Lakers fans, as we’re seeing in this post.

He has great rapport with guys - but this team level'd up with Bron's entry and they need a championship caliber coach to steer this ship next year when they will have another star and be a real contender.

Luke doesn't have the gravitas to institute a system that will stick.

If Luke loses the HC position, he needs to be gone for good. It wouldn't be fair to ask him to do that in the franchise that he's played for, won with, and came back to help through a rough patch.

He'd want another head coaching gig.
Only assistant coaching job he's taking is with Golden State
and taking the HC job from Kerr when Kerr wants to call it quits
because of the back.

He's only taking that job if he gets to coach 4 of the
top 15 all-time players.

And btw: Golden State didn't win the chip when Luke
was Assistant.

They won TWO after Mike Brown rebuilt the defense

So Mike Brown would DESERVE it

guys aren't making shots and there isn't a consistent 2nd star. Ingram can't score over 20, and has way too many 5-16 nights. Lonzo still can't find his groove offensively. Kuz can go off for a big night - but only 1 out of every 5 games or so. McGree is actually their 2nd most consistent player right now - and that's not going to get the job.

Lakers need to get that 2nd star. The current roster is full of good to very good role players - but no stars.

whether anyone of the core turns into the 2nd scorer is immaterial. The target has always been two max slots, we got one with Bron and now we’re full the other this coming summer. Pelinka’s negotiation w Deng’s but-it gave us 38.5m in cap space. That’s exactly equal to the max KD can take with a different team.

my dream scenario is:

Lakers shock the world and steal the West from Golden Piss, face OKC in the WCF, goes on to add another Laker banner

LeBron's Finals Streak intact + GOLD

in offseason, KD opts out, signs with LA.

Rest of the league gets MAD for 3 more years

(Cavs draft the Duke savior, tank again, get another top talent, then go back to eating the East's food)

I couldn't write a better story than that lol. KD joining Bron in LA to snuff Draymond and the Worriers would be a 100% on Rotten Tomatoes.

25. "LeBron wasn't brought here to run the offense..."
In response to Reply # 0

who ever told you that doesn't know what they're talking about...

From the very beginning it was widely reported that the strategy Magic and LeBron agreed upon before he signed was for him to play the 4 position with Lonzo...then Rondo running the point..

Magic reiterated just yesterday I believe that we aren't following any Cleveland blueprint related to how LeBron will be used...

obviously he'll have the ball in his hands a lot...just like any other ball dominant star...

but he wasn't brought here to run the offense...

worry bout the Sixers..... because y'all got another lotto pick you're trying to move that don't nobody want...

He’s the best basketball player who has ever lived. When the ball is in his hands, everybody eats and the team wins. Bron is doing what needs to be done.

I just thought it was funny when everybody thought a 32 year old legend was going to change everything about his game for luke Walton and a bunch of kids, and I like reminding people how right I always am.

He’s taken over ball handling duties *since Rondo got hurt* to replace his on-ball ability. You aren’t right, you just selectively pay attention to make yourself feel knowledgeable.

this year if that..

and always right??

I mean there are too many classics to list..

but I do recall you claiming that Shaq leaving the Lakers would mean that the Sixers had their chance to win a title..that they still haven't won yet...

there are others.....maybe I'll pull some out of an invisible hat later...

Ingram doesn't fit LA anymore. He's a scorer who still needs more development. He would fare well on a team where he's guaranteed to get more touches.

In response to Reply # 39

(granted, they are two completely different kind of players... speaking mostly on the "not fitting the team" thing)

and if he is, do you think he could adapt to being in a role like Kevin Love was with the LeBron Cavs? It took a while, but Kevin in the corner became one of my favorite things. As well as "Hadouken Pass" transition plays

In response to Reply # 0

This is as good of a start as you could've asked for with this new, inexperienced team.

And again - Bron is empowering the young guys to step up - and although they've been inconsistent - they are now playing inspired defense and are starting to learn each other's gameflow preferences.

We can jabber about Luke or Lebron or Ingram or Lonzo or whatever... but honestly, getting Chandler was the biggest factor in stabilizing the team. It means we're not trotting out Jonathan Williams or Kuzma at the five, and McGee doesn't have to play 30+ minutes.

I feel like the team learning and growing together AS WELL AS just getting a back up center PERIOD helped the defense. We're just lucky to have gotten someone who still has something in the tank. But thank god no more Kuz at the 5 and/or Zubac.

just the biggest. He stabilized our lineups and stylistically is the perfect backup 5.

But agreed, Kuzma and Lonzo have been super engaged defensively lately, and while Ingram's offense has been shaky he's usually been consistently good on that end.

Is it because I’m the one who said it? Because you can’t accept the lakers bending to Bron instead of vice versa? Seasonal affect disorder? Parlez with me, I want to help.

What people, you ask? I have no idea.

It's as if Laker fans don't give a flying fuck who is distributing the ball if we're winning. It's a weird phenomenon.

But shells is trying to channel O_E in his nonsensical, "Oh yall mad cause *I* said it" when....honestly nobody cares.
