Luis Ortiz makes his return to the ring on the under card, fighting some cat name Cojanu who also challenged for a title and lost.
Easter Jr is now training with Kevin Cunningham, the man who trained Tank in the last fight where he showed a tremendous leap in skill. Cunningham has trained multiple champions. If he fights his height and has the discipline to keep Garcia at the end of his jab, he might be able to pull it off.
Garcia is the favorite in this fight. So much so that he's been talking more about challenging Errol Spence Jr two weight classes up than he's been talking about Easter Jr. Garcia's brother claims Mikey isn't even training much for this fight and is focusing on car racing. I don't actually believe that tho. If Mikey can get inside and get to Easter's body, the fight is his.

Easter's very high output dropped to nearly nothing in the 8th, then in the 9th Easter gets back into the old habit of giving up his height, creating dogfight that predictably favored Garcia.

I agree with that. Some call him the Tim Duncan of boxing lol, but it's dope how his commitment to fundamentals is exactly what makes him so good. His timing is very impressive to me. In this fight, I was impressed with how must distance he covered with the quickness of his jab. He was catching Easter early, even when Easter was trying to keep space between them.
