Horford is a highly-effective cog in that machine. one of the better bigs in today's NBA
the whole "LeBron is GOAT" angle
is that he ran into a team that does the ONE thing that usually kicks his current's team's ass in the playoffs. through high usage, he put up ridiculously efficient numbers with over 40 points scoring in elimination multiple times... and took a team missing its next best player (and there's a GULF between those two) to the Finals. His 8th in a row.
LeBron (and a team like this) would have lost to this Boston team 10 years ago. it's year 15 and he's doing this. That's why people are saying "GOAT"

No, he should win this. It's a feat worth mentioning, sure, but really he is the best player on the floor by several measures.
You should win, especially when the guys on the other team are mostly untested kids. That's why I said from the jump he would win. Because he is one of the best players ever, it shouldn't even be in question.
If it was Iverson out there, this team still woulda won. Unless the kids we are talking about are Shaq or Tim Duncan or something, which, as good as Tatum is, he is nowhere near there. Maybe one day.
Born still same spot he was in my eyes. One of the greats.
But if he gets elevated to GOAT off this, Iverson is the GOAT for real for beating that Lakers team because Shaq AND Kobe were both better than him, Jackson was way better coach, and the rest of the Lakers team was better than anyone running with Iverson.
5. "I don't get the whole "greatest thing he's done!" angle. Discredits him" In response to Reply # 2
The team he took to the Finals in 2007 was WORSE than this one, he was much less experienced and he faced a better opponent in the conference finals than he faced in any round this year. He also led his team back from 3-1 against a 73-win team. What he has done this year is a huge feather in his cap, but it's not the biggest. I would put it behind those and possibly even his play in 2015 as well.
And you will know MY JACKET IS GOLD when I lay my vengeance upon thee.

Beating the Warriors was fucking incredible. No one can find me ever saying anything different.
8. "Also - people forget just how many big games/moments he has." In response to Reply # 5
it's getting to the point where people are just forgetting huge games/moments he's had because he's had so many of them - that they just start to blur.
But this achievement ranks very high IMO -- I'd take the '07 cavs team over this team because of their ability to defend at a high level.
9. "I should hope no one ranks this over 2016." In response to Reply # 5
if this happened in 2012 I don't think people would have been responding the way they are; the difference is LeBron is "old" in NBA years and his team on paper may be better than 2007, but this team is easily the most dysfunctional, undependable team he's played with. made worse by the Kyrie trade.
12. "the fact that this was *11* years ago needs to be contextualized." In response to Reply # 11
LeBron didn't just make this absurd playoff-run (while posting Wilt-like numbers) in his 20's. He's doing this in year 15. By year 15 - most guys are lucky to still even be a factor. LeBron is the league MVP in his 15th season and has *this* kind of playoff-run? Dude averaged 40 ppg and a trip-dub in games 5-7 of the ECF after willing his team with multiple buzzer-beaters and herculean performances.
It's that he's doing this - *still* - at such an ATG level -- that's why people are appropriately rating this in his top achievements.
