LeBron is great, but that entire team plays such shitty defense. You can't go out there and try to beat the Warriors by outscoring them, and you're not gonna take more than one of their big 3 out of the game even with great defense.

In response to Reply # 1

that sounds crazy. It probably is. But they need to start trying out of the box stuff if they have any chance.

Can Bron guard KD? Even in a vacuum, the answer is only "maybe." Bron's on-ball defense isn't what it once was. But we're not in a vacuum. The only way Cleveland can play even passable defense if Bron is allowed to help to clean up mistakes. he can't do that if he's guarding KD. You can't be running full tilt to try to close out durant. The result is what we saw Thursday.

They should start Derrick Williams and put him on Durant.....he's got the size and length to at least challenge him. Have JR come off the bench. Move Bron on the perimeter with Kyrie.

I'm out. Wake me if Cavs win or Russ and Paul George go to Lakers or Spurs and they end this hoe shit.

I'll be back for MLB playoffs to hate on the Spanks, the Sux, the Cards and the Giants

And for NFL playoffs if QB Trump is eliminated

Yes, I'm mad. Let's move on.

They could have broken their focus after GSW made their runs, but they've always answered back.

But these turnovers are killing the Dubs. This game would be much less competitive without the bad passing.

He's attacking the paint relentlessly and then sticking KD defensively....Shumpert gave him some huge minutes defensively on KD while he was able to switch onto Livingston.

Let's see what happens through the course of the 2nd half and series though...war of attrition.

-The Knicks’ coaching search still includes a lone frontrunner, Kurt Rambis, whose qualifications for the position include a strong relationship with Jackson and a willingness to take the job.

Apparently, the team coaches itself...unless Mike Brown is coaching of course.

Which is the dumb shit they say the other side of the argument is saying.

Truth is Kerr and Brown have been coaching their asses off but it's evidently impossible for some people to give credit I guess.

In response to Reply # 99

outside of dray, they really ain't have no rim protector / shot blockers, etc. (bogut, if he would healthy was good for a body or hard foul, but that about it).

there was a bunch of shit in the dubs collapse last year:

barnes consistently missing wide the fuck open jumpers
bogut getting hurt
draymond being stupid and getting the ejection

no physical finisher on offense (green will go to the hole hard but is not really a finisher - klay is fading away if you look at him mean). this team is much improved in that area also. iggy is healthier so he'll bang out and go to the rim. kd on some other shit. steph healthy so his finishes are better. mcgee good for a lob a game. david west will bang on you (or more likely hit a cutter for a bucket).

peace & blessings,

kg an all them mfers ain't start out in BOS.

and we know what happened in MIA.

and bron chose to go back to CLE with a budding all star in kyrie. and then got love to go along w/ them.

but kd going to his best available option and that's a bridge too far?

it goes back to BOS, but bron did this shit twice, and i was never mad at him for that. i don't see how any CLE (or MIA) or BOS fans can be mad at this shit.

aren't they both on some bitch shit? don't understand all this KD hatred when superfriends mcgee is over there superfriending his way to (attempted) championships for almost a decade.

seems like kd just took the superfriends shit to the next level. the natural progression of the bitch shit lebron started. shit comes full circle. be mad at them both.

In response to Reply # 139

the Heat was a team that won 40 games, seemed like it was gonna be on a hamster wheel after its one title. the Raptors? they're a better team now than they were when Bosh played. if either they all went to the Cavs, the better team of the three and joined LeBron, OR LeBron went to the Celtics somehow after that L, it would be the same shit.

or even better. this is like if Klay or Steph left the Warriors to join LeBron after last year. (which would be funny as shit if it happened)

this shit is so much bullshit it's got me defending The Decision and the Death Star Heat.

that's OK.

my natural consumption of sports is to root against this kind of shit on GP, and if the Cavs flame out I can divest there.

KD a chump.

he already wasn't not gonna be LeBron but this clearly puts him "below Kobe" level

we had THREE chances to beat GS, last year. 48 minutes from the Finals...THREE times. If KD doesn't nut up in game 6, we win...that simple. Then he goes to THAT team. Prolly already had it in his mind that he was going there...while playing them. Yes, it was his right. No, I don't want him to die in a fire because he went there. But, it was bitch.

we BEEN knew it's a wrap.

the other 28 fanbases weren't harboring any illusions, and came to peace with this shit a long time ago.

only the cavs/bron/kyrie folx were deluding themselves all this time into thinking they could actually hang with these niggas.

so y'all are recently, just now, coming to the realization that oh, we're just in the same boat with everybody else, playing for 2nd place.

that's the difference. everybody else is at acceptance, y'all still working on anger and bargaining.

>this done fucked up the game for a LOT of people, not just
>bron and ky.
>
>he so pressed to party off ky, he ain't even considered wall
>and his hot ass knees gon be 33 and ringless by the time this

It's truly sad. I mean that.

Also, for what it's worth - I don't hold DLo dear. I just think he's good and not the trash you think he is. You're grasping at something that doesn't exist.

So again - close Chrome, exhale, and go to sleep dogg.

They shoulda got bigger inside.

-The Knicks’ coaching search still includes a lone frontrunner, Kurt Rambis, whose qualifications for the position include a strong relationship with Jackson and a willingness to take the job.

Rodman makes Draymond's behavior look nun-like.

Pippen, while not as outright skilled as Bron, was still a physical specimen who could wear opponents down.

And Mike? I don't know if Klay/Curry get nearly as many open looks if Mike is on the floor, and if they do he's at least gonna pop off like "you ain't hittin that faggot"

have built a different team around Jordan & Pippen to complement the style of B-Ball being played in this era. Jordan and Pippen would also spend more time on the offseason shooting 3's. Imagine the players that would take less money to play with Jordan. Imagine adding a prime Isiah Thomas, Reggie Miller, Karl Malone, Gary Payton, Charles Barkley or Patrick Ewing to the Bulls because those guys decided if you can't beat em....

durant is also leading the warriors in rebounding (11.0), his teammates are shooting 61% off his passes (7.0 apg), he's leading both teams in combined blocks and steals, and cavaliers players are shooting 37% when he guards them.

but he a ho tho.

In response to Reply # 194

On one hand, everyone in this forum applauds when a player has any form of leverage to improve their earning power or their standing with ownership.

But when Durant showed agency over his career, progressing the capability of any player to use their power and influence in the future, detractors were upset because his reasoning behind his choice wasn't traditional.

I get why fans of OKC or Westbrook or even casual fans are upset about the outcomes of Durant's decision because the Dubs are now by far the best team. He left a team that had a reasonable chance to outright beat the Warriors and not only did Durant leave, he went to the team that beat him.

You don't surrender, it's the essence of competition.

But Durant's reasoning was sound and took boldness.

He could have stayed in OKC and made one more run. I think that's what we all thought he would do.

But he not only wanted to win (not 1, not 2...) but he wanted to play for a team that not only allowed his greatness to shine even brighter but played to his temperament. As much as he was the 1a to Westbrook's 1b at times, it's easy to see that he either doesn't need or care about being the top dog, just the best player on the court.

As much as he was a part of OKC's community it's hard to turn down spending any amount of time in the Bay Area. For as masterful as OKC's front office is and has been, Golden State's is arguably as good if not better.

Anyone, no matter the profession, would do their best to get an opportunity to not only make or do great things but do so in a great culture.

Durant is a professional athlete and he acted as a professional as he made his decision.

Is Kev a bitch? A lil bit.
Does that take away from his talent and him showing up to this thing ready to fight? Not at all.

But is Bron a bitch? Yup, a lil bit.
Does that take away from his talent and legacy? Nope, people still having that 'he's on Jordan's heels' discussion.

We are in the age of 'choose your own destiny' even if the optics are suspect to the general populace.

Bron got TWO allstars and was still asking for more help THIS season.

Let's just hope that a few more players take their careers in their hands and a few more teams make savvy moves with a lil extra cap space. That way we get a few more challengers to G-State. But they are probably gonna get a good 2-3 year run outta this before any cracks (assuming decent health to the key players).

The thing is, for the first three quarters, Cleveland was playing well. The weren't playing defense, but they were hitting their shots. Tough shots even. So, props to them for that.

The Dubs are just a fucking buzzsaw at the moment. Durant is obviously playing out of his mind. Steph is healthy and killing it; it's crazy to see him getting to the line like that (and props for the triple double). When Klay is hitting his shots like that, it's just some next level shit out there. Green kept a cool head through foul trouble, and contributed on both ends. Livingston and Clark had very good. And it was great to see Kerr back out there. Glad he's healthy enough to do his thing.

And LOL @ at all the ancillary whining and pissing and moaning going on in here. The sheer amount of blood-vomiting anger is seriously cracking me up. I suffered through unspeakable bullshit as a Warriors fan for most of my natural life; it ain't so much fun when the rabbit has the gun, is it?

this warriors team is the most talented ever assembled. when you add one of the 25 best players ever to a 73 win team without losing anything but role players, you get this. it'd be silly to ding individual cavs for not being able to beat what's clearly one of 2-3 best teams ever.

that Lebron is the "best player in the world" by the media, certain fans, and Lebron himself.

He may be the best "all-around" player but the Durant is the best scorer in the world and Steph is #2 and when you have them both on the same team and you can't shift your defense towards either one this is what you get.

his stats from every other post season make it clear "emotionally stable JR Smith" is at the very least capable of being the second best scorer on a championship team. he's taken half as many shots overall and nearly 2/3 less threes than he did last year. he's probably the ultimate heat check player in the league and he gets very few opportunities to get hot on this team, it makes sense his offense regressed. his defense is good as it ever was.

his playoff numbers are down across the board offensively, but are the same as they've always been by most advanced defensive metrics. his value to the team is clearly different in the playoffs, and he's doing what he's supposed to do. you can't pretend he isn't on the floor, but because he has far less responsibility on offense other than a few "remember me?" shots per quarter he can stay focused on defense. I can easily see an alternate reality where his defense starts to slip as he's expected to do more on offense if, on the extremely off chance, this KD thing didn't totally work out and GSW truly missed the depth of their bench the past two years.

because it ain't the 95-96 bulls, if that's what you're thinking. mj is better than either KD or steph, but 2-5 the dubs are obviously better.

KD (or steph) better than scottie
draymond better than rodman
klay better than...what, kukoc?
iggy better than...what, harper?

their 4th best player scored 37 in a quarter, and their 5th best player is a finals mvp.

what's fucking with that?

I agree with about almost everything u have been spitting in this thread...But I want them to win (rings) before we start going overboard....

U r REALLY right about one thing though....GS is just a superior team in this Finals all the way around....That's where your "overthinking" statement makes the most sense...

Yeah...like I said...greatness is not about paper match-ups....It's about consistency......multiple Trophies, Three-peats...total domination for a decade....etc...Let GS cook...lol...This is their first go around with Durant....They sure as hell LOOK like they can be in that company....

But as for right now I will settle for this team just being vastly superior to the Cavs....

Patience.....

I don't know which hot take is worst; this one that the Warriors are currently one of the best teams ever or Van Gundy's claim that Durant and Curry are one of the best duos ever to ever play the game.

The thing that gets me is people don't understand that consistency is part of that greatness....The '80s Lakers were not being celebrated because they were a stacked team....They were celebrated because they consistently dominated their era.....Same with the Celtics...same with the Bulls and SA....

As of right now Durant/Curry/GS r scary as fuck....And they are better than the Cavs...But I need them to show out more than 1 season.....

what are you guys talking about?

this team has won the most games in a 3 yr stretch of any team in league history.

closing in on 2 of 3 titles, which we all know could've easily been 3 of 3.

14 consecutive playoff wins, the longest streak in league history.

i believe the largest margin of victory in any single playoffs ever.

this isn't some fluky flash-in-the-pan run, and it isn't hot-takey at all to begin discussing this team as one of the best ever assembled.

y'all are doing that same silly "BUT I NEED TO SEE MORE" crap that a lot of older rap fans do with kendrick.

If all those stats and figures satisfy you, that's cool. To call a team on of the best ever, I'd prefer to see them get rings and do so with some degree of longevity. If you disagree, I don't see the big deal. I personally want to see more that will stand the test of time since a ton of the praise being heaped on this Warriors team is because folks are being prisoners of the moment.

as far as "ONE of the best ever", they're already there.

you can't win 6 titles or 8 titles in 3 years.

in terms of what you CAN accomplish in 3 years, they've done lots and lots of things as well as, or better than, any team ever has.

it don't take a whole day to recognize sunshine.

them automatically look better, its nothing new, see Three-peat Lakers, in 01 they went 15-1 in the playoffs, can the Warriors top that? The supporting cast was Fisher, Horry, Fox, Samaki Walker, Devean George and Lindsay Hunter. Nobody from that group is going to the HOF.

You can think bron needs more help to beat this warrior team while also blaming him for supER teams in his prime and signing Thompson, shump and Jr to dumbass Contracts.

-The Knicks’ coaching search still includes a lone frontrunner, Kurt Rambis, whose qualifications for the position include a strong relationship with Jackson and a willingness to take the job.

well a couple, that are really annoying are....
this thing where suddenly KD has become aware of himself and what he can do. That's utter bullshit. Kevin Durant is a machine, programmed to score baskets. He averaged 31 a game in the 2012 Finals, man. He's never not been able to shoot, he's never not been able to get the basket at will. I told niggas last season that he could play man defense and got scoffed at. The other...somehow Lebron is a lesser player today because he can't stop KD. Who the fuck can shut down KD??? Gimme his name!! (c)Styles P. I've watched probably 85% of this dude's games since the Sonics moved to OKC. This is what the fuck he does. He's always been this tall, he's always shot this good, he's always had handles. It's hilarious, even, that people are bringing up his height, lol.

Kyrie is great player in his own right, but he's hot and cold. There's a HUGE drop off after that. Kevin Love is Kevin Love. You don't know what you'll get out of Tristan Thompson, Iman Shumpert, or JR Smith on any given night.

Pre knee Rose was winning an MVP and leading his own team....And u took a nasty L on this board because of that...lol....It was hilarious....

But that's old news....

Kyrie is a good player....And an exceptional one-on-one scorer....Rose's career was destroyed by trash knees....

No...U just overly sensitive, dog...No disrespect....

If I'm saying that Kyrie is an exceptional one on one player who can shoot the lights out but gives u little else on a consistent basis, that's far from slapping....That's truth telling...

Not every player has to be a GREAT talent...Some players can be very good......Kyrie is very good. And he also happens to be playing with the GREATEST talent of this generation and a player that will be in the top 5 (and maybe 3) all time when it all said and done....That matters...The same way Pip had to get from under the shadow of Jump Man and lead his own team...

I don't throw around greatness.....

No jokes or shade...

Actually...I didn't....

I never said Rose was the best player in the league...And I never called him a once in lifetime talent or that he was above criticism.....I said he was the best PG at that time....That he made history as an MVP at such a young age....

I said he was better than Russy because the kid had yet not even led his own team...Now Russy is leading his own team and has shown himself to be the best PG in the game....

A young as all-hell player leading his own team, winning MVP and getting stopped from being in the Finals by Lebron James?

Sure...Rose was great that season.....Not exactly shocking....He got injured...again and again...He's a shell of his former self....End of story...

I'll make a deal with u....If Kyrie takes over this Cavs team and leads them to an ECF, I will co-sign your fandom all day....

As of right now....Kyrie is a really good player who happens to be playing with the best player of his generation and someone who is breaking Magic Johnson records...

Until then, be good homie....

Y'ALL have literally goal-posted the hell out of kyrie irving from the moment he hit the league. it's been fun--but mostly disgusting-- watching y'all downplay his achievements at every turn.

lotta players y'all cyse "got they own team" and ain't doing a damn thing with them. not even getting out the early rounds.

every time i make a "deal" on kyrie, it's just erased whenever he takes an L.

i mean, i was taking DEALS on him taking starting lineups of gee, waiters, samuels and earl clark to the playoffs. i made that deal.

never again.

he got a ring and your man is a freaky washed bamma.

and it wasn't about rose's season. you said HE was great. his season was actually pretty pedestrian. kyrie put up better numbers THIS SEASON.

rest of the league, not just the team he's playing against. How many "great" players do you see playing in this NBA finals? There are at least 4, some may argue up to 6.

Yeah...this is not a worthy debate....I have a different view of greatness....The only players I'm describing as "great"in this Finals are Bron James, Durant, and Curry....They each in their own way do freakish things on the court...And they are players that defenses especially prepare for...

Everyone else in this series is GOOD to average to marginal....

Is Kyrie the sole player that teams are gearing up against though? That's my point...

There are teams that have a game plan for Klay as well...But he is not viewed as a priority like say Bron, Durant, Curry, Russy, K. Leonard, etc.....It's the same way for Kyrie...That fool will drop 15 on u at the blink of an eye...But he's not the 1. priority for teams in terms of who to stop....

and yes, there are DOZENS of articles explaining how the warriors have SPECIFICALLY tailored the D to kyrie to avoid what happened last finals.

and KD's help D is KILLING kyrie's drives. he's a 7 ft. shot blocker at SF. i honestly didn't account for that.

The presumptive DPOY and runner up the past two seasons
The 6th Man of the Year who is presumed to win it again, has won a Finals MVP and (I believe) gold medal
A two-time All NBA shooting guard
The defending coach of the year
The winners of the last three MVP award

Yeah, I don't really think this is about the cavs or their shortcomings

Especially when one of them is supposed to be greater than Magic, Kareem, et al, secondly only to or "better" than Jordan. Not to mention, the rest of the squad is comprised of pieces personally favored/selected by the King.

and it's not even about bron. bron's a made man, and jesus himself couldn't get the cavs to beat the warriors.

take kyrie, who i can't stand. kyrie's having a bad series. all that proves is that when one of the 15-20 best players in the world can abandon offense entirely to focus on defense, and can rely on the help of 2-3 other elite defenders at all times, he's really hard to score on.

now, if kyrie were a top 5 point guard or top 15 player, he should probably be doing better, but no unbiased person every through that in the first place. no one's opinion on kyrie should change based on getting curb stomped by this warriors team.

Lmao at the idea that anyone would rather have Kevin Love over Klay or Draymond.

I think haters really need to stick to the "Lebron hand picked this team" narrative. That's by far and away the best angle.
