"Weekend Soccer 4/22-4/23: Classico and FA Cup"

"We're the best team in England" is a thing I've said. Today we can start to make that claim real.

Oh, and two aging superstars face off in a league no one cares about.

What a thoroughly entertaining match. Chelsea deserved the W. I was extremely proud of our performance. We showed progress in becoming a team that can win the biggest matches at the biggest moments, but it is still a work in progress. Chelsea is a more finished product.

And the fact that they could bring one of the ten best players in the world off the bench speaks to their money COUGH COUGH I mean depth.

...Arsene Wenger is a tactical genius who brings silverware everywhere he goes, and Pep Guardiola's best days are behind him, and the game has passed him by.

That sound about right?

OX, only thing really fun about Arsenal, how he's not locked up already is just unbelievable.

Good win, boy Welbeck had so many chances to make the last few minutes less stressful.

Love you Alexis, thanks for the memories

Final is 6 weeks away, damn I don't remember it bring that late. So is the champions league final in June?

If Welbeck just gets his head up for a split second, he sees Ramsey or Alexis for a tap-in...instead he goes inches wide.

Regardless, good result and all signs pointed to Wenger coming back anyways (2 year deal has been on the table for awhile now).

As for Alexis and even Ozil for that matter...I've maintained that I would harbor no ill will toward either for leaving. They have deserved better for years now.

Barcelona's defending was damn near laughable...Ter kept them in it and what a trio of goals. Messi's footwork on the 1st (his first touch and body control to make Marcelo look like a drunk child), Rakitic with the feint and the screamer, and then of course the finale....what a surge by Roberto, great patience by Gomez, and then after the centering ball Messi picks a square. Holding the jersey and just standing there, lol, so good.

Helluva match, Ramos is a fool.

From everything I've read, his first choice was actually Arsenal...but Wenger wouldn't come up on the wages (hence, financial evaluation) so he went to Chelsea.

Nothing new though as we've had multiple chances to address our critical positions (holding mid, striker) but Wenger was set on his financial evaluations (specifically Suarez and Higuain come to mind)...deals which would have been pennies on the dollar for what they are currently valued at.

which, if arsenal was in the running im assuming that was after arsenal told him the wages and he laughed at them

but anyway jose called him personally to pitch him on the project but he preferred the blue and Conte.

Not like he's had much to do this year compared to previous years so it's not critical that we keep him

It's just a shame he's just so damn set on Real.
