Jim Buss was too busy Jim Bussing, zigging while the other teams zag and right into a fucking half-decade slide. D'Antoni's proven he's not special when his personnel wants to do things other than play spread PnR basketball, and when Nash went down, he was out of his depth there.

Dr. Buss, who was on his deathbed mind you, wanted a return to the high flying showtime days so he gave the final order to hire D'Antoni.

Jim certainly has his share of bad decisions though lol

You invented play to seed and made it a thing and the nba abandoned it the next season when it blew up in your face. Then you invented 'in brackets'. Shockingly, that is the only time you talked about that, ever.

In response to Reply # 23

Despite all their trouble early in the year the Pacers will definitely make the postseason. They will probably end up a five seed and could have hosted a series with better health this season. I would not be excited to see them in the first round. Meanwhile teams would line up to play the bum-ass Knicks in a series, but they won't have the opportunity since they will finish with roughly as many wins as the Pacers have already.

And you will know MY JACKET IS GOLD when I lay my vengeance upon thee.

have you seen their remaining schedule? they have been playing pretty crappy lately and they have a tough road ahead.

half of their remaining games are vs playoff teams, and im cautioualy optimistic about the way the Pistons are getting their feet under them. they have a more likely finish at 8 than 5 imo, and they should be more worried about Miami than Atlanta.

On paper they are better than a maybe-maybe-not team in the East. They should have been the fifth seed at worst.

No way around the answers. Let's also not make the Pacers out to be the fucking Spurs here either. They are a better org than the Knicks but that's an awfully low bar.

-The Knicks’ coaching search still includes a lone frontrunner, Kurt Rambis, whose qualifications for the position include a strong relationship with Jackson and a willingness to take the job.

ANYWHERE.

That is the *one* fucking feather he has in his sorry ass cap lol. Congratulations, you managed to beat another overweight underachiever, Deron Williams, who is one of the ten biggest wastes of talent in league history. But at the time he was good and the fact that Melo's guy managed to get the conference finals was the one thing in his pro career he couldn't be knocked for. Being a one-dimensional, underachieving dummy didn't apply for once.

He was supported by most of the coaches also, he had a great season. This is his best season. The same way Nash had his best years under D'Antoni. You can cherry pick one stat, but this is easily his best season and it has a good chance to equal or surpass his best year in terms of team success, too.

However, I don't think anyone thinks Pringles can't run a high seed high octane successful team. It has only been about winning a title, and caring about defense enough to accomplish that.

and that is yet to be seen.

Given that "adjusts on the fly and keeps the team humming despite adversity" is my second most important criteria, he might have to be second for me ahead of Brooks. It also means I need to take Spo more seriously too.

But my first rule is "give it to Popp unless you have a damn good reason not to." And fifth place in the west isn't quite good enough for me.

Very competitive race for COY this year though, lot of arguable guys. For Doc to have kept the Clippers afloat through that many injuries I would look at him first. Pop has kept on keeping on despite a lot of turnover and not all that much talent. Snyder and Stevens have both done great jobs. Casey and Bud, too. Brooks has righted the ship in DC. We tawnbout Pringles. Fizdale and Donovan have done good jobs. Of course Kerr is always in the conversation. Lots of strong candidate but yeah I think Rivers has done the best job when you look at the circumstances he has had to deal with.

And you will know MY JACKET IS GOLD when I lay my vengeance upon thee.

Golden State has been an average team post Durant, which

And Donovan? LMAO. No.

Looking at how they responded in the playoffs, I have no idea what I was thinking positing Rivers as a COY candidate. Fizdale, OK. Snyder, Pringles and Pop for sure.

The Rockets overachieved this year, point blank, period.

This is one of the worst coaching performances in
league history

He gave his team no chances.

FOH. even at 100% Spurs had a big advantage.

i see you didn't respond to doc's embarrassing flameout. the only question for him is if he loses one job or two. i'ma stick up for fiz but his team met the same fate as pringles', and a round earlier. also harden was hot trash in the last two games, so there's that.

You misspelled Thibs.

Unlike Thibs, Doc actually EARNED his job, though.

Fiz is about 4,000 times better a coach. He doesn't lose
by 40 at home to the Spurs without Kawhi.

Pringles did.

Ooooh so it's Harden when he was playing bad, but
D'Antoni when Harden was playing good?

-The Knicks’ coaching search still includes a lone frontrunner, Kurt Rambis, whose qualifications for the position include a strong relationship with Jackson and a willingness to take the job.

Before Pringles, Chris Paul was all raw athleticism,
didn't really know the finer parts of the game.

Harden has taken his game to another level yet AGAIN. They gave up half their roster to get Paul and managed to get a lot better, even though he has only kinda sorta been there.

You do realize Paul has missed 17 games this year, right? Of course you don't.

When will people appreciate the three-headed, all-seeing offensive genius of Harden, D'Antoni, and Morey? This is why we have to try and steal this shit this year: if Bron comes next year and that's what it takes to win it, he'll get all the credit (and probably deserve it, but damn, these three dudes really have some special mind-meld ish going on down here, and the league's smartest player in CP3 sees/saw it).

Also it isn't like they *have* to extend D'Antoni now, they have more than a year to make that decision.
