when Spygate hit rather making Deflategate be the sword the NFL fell on

not only was a 4-game gimme useless in that division, but it was ultimately useless in the end

everything prior to 2007 I'm not even counting and even with that, I'd give him the nod or put him on par with the other greats

the whole NFL machine could've came crashing down. IF there was actually proof that the Patriots cheated to win multiple super bowls? It would be lawsuits on top of lawsuits

By destroying the tapes. All anyone can do now is speculate about what or wasn't on there...that's infinitely better than any concrete proof of cheating. There's a reason the owners love Roger, he's a straight company man who looks out for their interests 1st, 2nd and 3rd.

And Halas never won it during the Super Bowl Era.

Maybe Bill Walsh or Chuck Knoll as a long shot?

I'm actually not even a Belichick hater, I have a sly admiration for the man (much like his twin brother in Tuscaloosa who also came through same demon gate)

but it is clear his support staff is as bad as it has ever been (again, his fault -- one his coaches is his son)

and his talent evaluation skills are irrelevant to modern football; he seems enamored with blocking receivers and third safeties

there is not a single difference-maker on the Patriots offense, and that is all his fault

Phil went to the Bulls as MJ and Pippen were entering their prime years. He stepped away when MJ retired (the 2nd time) and conveniently joined the most stacked - though most underachieving - team in the NBA. They had prime Shaq, a young ascending star in Kobe, a multiple all-star in Glen Rice, and solid vets like Ron Harper, Derek Fisher, Robert Horry, and Rick Fox. Literally the definition of cherry picking. I give Phil a ton of credit, but let’s not act like he wasn’t the beneficiary of the two most talent stacked teams of the past 30 years.

There was a no equivalent to that. Maybe if Belicheck went to KC, Philly, or San Fran and failed to win….

I’m not a BB fan by the way. Just think the comparison is ridiculous.

but as a Michigan alumn, I’m biased. But also because I work with MSU grads who love to argue against Brady, and cite the Patriots organization and Belchick as the real reason for his success.

QB Mac Jones
RB Rhamondre Stevenson

WR DeVante Parker
WR JuJu Smith-Schuster

TE Hunter Henry
LT Trent Brown
LG Atonio Malfi
C David Andrews
RG Michael Onwenu
RT Vederian Lowe

how are they supposed to score? not a single guy has the speed to scare a defense; just load up the box and sit back with one safety. Jones doesn't have the legs or arm to make you worry about him, just sit on the short routes because you have a wideout room that gets zero separation. the offensive line is a joke and Belichick is dearly missing long-time OL master Dante Scarnecchia, who retired years ago.

DL Deatrich Wise
DT Davon Godchaux
DL Lawrence Guy
LB Anfernee Jennings
LB Ja'Whaun Bentley
LB Jahlani Tavai
LB Josh Uche
CB Jonathan Jones
CB Myles Bryant
S Kyle Duggar
S Jabrill Peppers

solidly mid-tier, Belichick is still a good defensive game-planner, but there is no pass rush without Judon (who was really their one difference-maker) and no one else that can tip a game.

Fuck him, I’m enjoying seeing him crash and burn.

Bet they still find a way to beat the Steelers simply because we have a mental block when ot comes to that asshole.

I've defended this dude for a long time. He needs some new scenery. His shit aint working in Pittsburgh anymore. Yeah, no losing seasons.

its been 6 years since we won a playoff game and we have given up 40+ points in each of the last 3 playoff losses.

Please.. take him, we need a young HC who is hungry

This was his chance to be 9-4 and prove the haters wrong and this dude just lost to two 2-10 teams AT HOME!!

seriously, when folks who HATE Tomlin predict he will have a Tomlin special and lose these next 2 games and it happens, smh.. and you probably don't follow as closely but this happens all the time with Tomlin teams now.

if a team hans't scored a TD on the first drive all season THEY WILL AGAINST US!!

this idea that Tomlin can't be bashed.. mostly by folk who don't really watch them week to week is comical.

Do you realize Tomlin has only won playoff games in 4 out of his 16 seasons?

that streak is cool.. but you know what is cooler? PLAYOFF WINS.

we can find another young Black HC you know, acting like Tomlin is the only one EVER that can coach is Pittsburgh is wild.

I agree we stuck with Ben too long. But we also stuck with Canada at OC too long. The DC also sucks now too.

ST's ain't much better.

Any coach who stays this long is going to wear out his welcome.

Billicheat in the same boat, he is just lucky he got to play us last night and get a W.

but again, defense is Tomlin's thing.

Last 3 playoff losses we have given up around 40 ppg.

and its not like we are asking for much. Beat 2 teams 8 games under .500 AT HOME.

I’m not even screaming that Tomlin needs another SB ring or appearance. Just win a playoff game.

Hell, just win a game convincingly. You know, like the last two 2-10 teams who just beat us AT HOME. Bailey Zappe just threw 3 TD’s in a half so I dont want to hear shit about how Tomlin is handcuffed by QB’s. The offense has been disgusting the last 3 years.

and has them looking like a gotdamn machine on offense and defense.

Bruh, we went 50 games without 400 yards of offense and we haven’t scored 30 points in a win since 2020 and there was no won in the stadium to see watch it live.

Real talk, the more you try to defend Tomlin the dumber you will look to football fans. Trust me, I was you until this year.

Belittling other teams accomplishments and recent playoff success talking about a SB from 2008.

What has Tomlin done since 2011 after the 2nd SB appearance that makes him so impressive in 2023 besides still having a job?

John Lynch is not walking into that locker room.. lol

trust me, you will change your thinking real quick when he starts wasting timeouts, losing challenges and not making challenges at a high clip.

You will grow tired of "the standard is the standard" while players play down to the worst teams at the worst times.

You will grow tired of watching rookies slooooowly get integrated into the offense or defense while watching vets get abused

TBH the fact that you're even a mod here fits squarely within Jag's narrative of OK-sanctioned aggression, bullying, and toxicity. *shrug*

60. "Broderick Jones and Joey Porter"
In response to Reply # 57

both shouldve started day one.

QB getting drilled early and often while Jones was watching Moore and Chuks get abused. Both these tackles sorry as hell. As soon as Jones was full time our running game went on a tear.

Porter slowly being integrated while Levi Wallace was getting john blazed. Why wait? Porter was a lock down corner day 1.

Benton on the DL. His reps decreased because Cam returned but Benton was beasting this year.

we just move at a snails pace.

..I was never a Dungy fan, but tried my best to respect his approach.

Crazy to think of how much success Tampa could've had with him as coach over the past 20 yrs.

when he hadn't thrown a TD all damn season.

whatever a team is suffering from, a Tomlin team will fix it.

Remember Tim fucking Tebow? We made him look like Montana. Next game he goes right back to looking like pure shit.
