"Is there a more overrated player in the NBA than Marc Gasol?"
DPOY 1st team All NBA 2nd team All NBA 2nd team Defensive All NBA 2x All Star
Never averaged 20 or more a game Never averaged 10 or more rebs Never averaged 2 or more blocks
Yet everyone wants to act like he's been the best center in the NBA at one time or another like Boogie hasn't been for the last few years. Dude is not even top 5.
If he gets in the ASG today I'll be salty.
IMO he's been milking that last name for all its worth on some Eli shit, among other reasons.

He's very good and i hardly ever here him mentioned as a top 20-25 player. Who the hell is overrating marc gasol?
-The Knicks’ coaching search still includes a lone frontrunner, Kurt Rambis, whose qualifications for the position include a strong relationship with Jackson and a willingness to take the job.
10. "you talking about Conley or Gasol?" In response to Reply # 7
>Way too much hype for a career 15 and 8 guy
Must be Gasol cause Conley is a 14 and 6 career guy.
In any event, who is calling Gasol the best center in the league now?
As far as being one of the best, i'm sure alot of coaches would want him in the middle going into the playoffs over Cousins, Whiteside or some of the other more talented C's in the league.

it is a capital mistake to theorize before one has data. insensibly one begins to twist facts to suit theories, instead of theories to suit facts. - sherlock holmes

I mean, David Lee and Roy Hibbert are two time All-Stars. And Noah probably would have won the DPOY that Gasol won had he not gotten hurt.
And over the past five years or so, the center position has been weak. I mean, they changed the All-Star voting partly because weak options like Jamaal Magloire were making it. Only now with Towns, Drummond, Gobert emerging is there competition. In the past, spots 6 - 10 were guys like Big Al Jefferson, Greg Monroe, Larry Sanders.
I think he's rated correctly. He's a key part of the Grizzlies' success but he's not a #1 star, is possibly a #2 guy on a playoff team, and #3 on a true title contender.
If he makes the All-Star game as a reserve, it's probably a nod from coaches who like his game, have known him longer, and want to recognize him instead of the young guys like Gobert. Or they might not like Cousins.
