"Yooooooo!!! Anybody just see that fake punt Seattle ran??"

First of all, they ran a fake punt with 5 minutes left in the game, up 24-3. Shit works like gangbusters and the punter is running with nothing but green ahead of him. Since he's not used to running the ball, obviously, the ball just jumps out of his arms. In the process of trying to haul it back in, he gets absolutely detonated by a Rams' player. Looked like he was out, but he eventually got up and was helped off the field. The fact that Pete is trying to run it up, is lovely to me.

couple that with hager getting tuck-ruled on an apparent INT in the endzone (and sherman blowing up the rookie), i'm not surprised that niggas is headhunting w/out a care at this point in the game.

To paraphrase Jimmy Johnson, if my guys want to score points, I can't do anything about that. The other team has to stop them.

Seriously. If you're playing football, your job is to score points or prevent the other team from scoring. Somebody is going to outdo the other guy at his job. There's certain dick moves that show up the other team, like throwing a challenge flag when you're winning by 30. (No Mike McMarthy-o) But I don't think it's fair to say "they're running up the score"; especially at the NFL level. You're a grown man. You can't expect them to have mercy on you.

___________

Back again for the first time.

-The Knicks’ coaching search still includes a lone frontrunner, Kurt Rambis, whose qualifications for the position include a strong relationship with Jackson and a willingness to take the job.

so I'm going to cut him some slack. He's also a 35 year old Canuck with a comedienne wife, so it makes the whole situation even more comical.

Edit - I forgot all about this

I think this supports my point lol, he wanted another highlight to show the fam.

their punter got fucked up and Wilson threw another pick. I guess this is what happens when they can't just run out the clock with Lynch anymore.

Pete Carroll is a fucking idiot for that.

Not only was it useless (other than giving a middle finger to the Rams), but it also got the punter concussed.

Now, we've got to go find a new punter to fill in.

That's not even the stupid part - the stupid part is that it was so well executed that you COULD have saved that for a playoff game when you really needed to come back in a game or just change momentum. Instead, you put it on film so opponents can look for it.

Just dumb.

I feel you tho, this was a terrible time to run a fake and coulda been used when they really needed it.

Then again, most teams look for the fake when you really need it.

Maybe they could've used this early in a game but not anymore.
