"Miami at Cincy "

Gase and Co need to show that they at least somewhat know what they're doing. It's still baffling how much they demand of Tannehill by giving him no running game and no defense to provide decent field position. At least they've proven that letting Lamar Miller go was the right move by calling as few run plays as possible. I'm already pissed, and the game hasn't even started yet.

My take, which I have stated in other posts, is that Gabe is almost destined to fail because he was brought in on a busted premise, that Tannehill needs fixing. While he certainly is nowhere in the universe of perfect, the things he lacks are not coachable. Which ar bad pocket presence, really bad accuracy, and an inability to see the whole field. So if Gase's standard of success is to turn Tannehill into a consistent machine-like QB who can carry a team week in and week out, then he will never succeed. Tannehill has been called a coach killer, but really it's the coaches who kill themselves by asking Tannehill to be Drew Brees.

probably get a clearer picture of gase at the midpoint of the season. their next four games all being at home shouldn't hurt.

Not much you can do with that. He made some good second half adjustments against the Patriots to make that a game but the Bengals were just running through guys to get to Tannehill (who I think is an average QB.)

The Arian Foster gamble has crapped out so far and Ayaji just isn't that good.

He hasn't wowed anyone so far but it's still early to judge him.

He was a wideout in college. He got picked because he had a big arm and is athletic. Not the most unusual of metrics, although they reached badly for him where they picked him.

I'm not a fan, but he also has no blocking.

Put Dak Prescott on the Dolphins and I'm sure he wouldn't be any worse but he might not be any better.

>He was a wideout in college.

He wasn't a WR. He was a QB who played WR during games just to get on the field prior to becoming starter. He was always a QB at A&M. Practiced as QB and attended all QB meetings.

But this is the first time I"ve felt like this since the TO/Chad year. Its been like I know this team is gonna be good or bad, but this year I really don't know.

Take away the big plays teams have been able to get on us and we're one of the top five units in the league. Secondary play has be serviceable at best. Front seven is good as always. I've only side-eyed Maualuga on ten plays so far this year. So I'ml straight with our D.

This offense though?

I knew we'd lose a step with Jones and Hue gone, and Eifert starting out with an ankle injury, and getting Fisher and Obueghi acclimated to the Oline, but damn this is terrible. I know it's gonna take time, but last night should have been the Gio/Hill show. I'm cool with the AJ Hour as usual, but I want to see more out of the run game, especially in the red zone. We should have had only two FGs last night and the rest should have been TDs. I know Eifert is a big part of the red zone O and I'll probably change my tune by week 8, but right now we look like the mediocrest of the mediocre.

I'm withholding judgment on the offense until Eifert returns. No way they settle for 5 field goals last night if they had Eifert.

Now, the #2 WR (or lack thereof) is still going to be an issue. Hoping that Boyd gets better as the season goes on. He looked good in that Pittsburgh game, but hasn't done anything since. But I guess inconsistency is the case for most rookies.

I also don't like how many deep passes the secondary has given up so far this year. Luckily the defensive line disrupted Tannehill and gave him no time in the pocket. (that and Tannehill being an idiot helped)

Exactly. With Eifert out there now you got the threat of him and AJ and when you're worried about them two Hill can gash it up the middle or a shovel pass or hit Gio in the flat. The options are limitless when Eifert is out there.

In all honestly I really thought this was going to be a non issue. I thought Boyd would come in and help quickly but maybe I was asking for too much lol. I think by the end of the year is when he'll come more into his own and be more consistent.

Five. (or six)

And I remember each one lol. One against the Jets. One against Pittsburgh (maybe was two, but I remember one for sure because they scored right after it), two against Denver, and the pass to Stills last night. Take away those and we're at least 3-1. I'm witholding on the O, but I'm actually fine with the defense.
