"First place Los Angeles Rams......"
Sun Sep-25-16 08:30 PM by Warren Coolidge

get used to that shit haters...

and God brings the lightening down for a delay that allows scores of LA fans to watch and listen to Vin Scully call the walk off extra inning home run that wins the NL West on Vin Scully's last game in Dodger Stadium.....

We put on for the city fool

and peep the new construction animated video of the amazing Inglewood stadium...

Warren, the Rams won't be first place in the West in October onward for the next decade.

And UCLA won't win the south this year, even though it is the easiest time in their history to win it. ASU is going to again crush your dreams.

Being that I'm a Los Angeles Rams Season Ticket holder... I wouldn't expect many Warren Coolidge posts after home games...particular ones as hot as last week as it takes multiple days to recover from such heat...

but rest assured Warren Coolidge is still here as the WhooRide captain for the Los Angeles Rams...

to me Wentz was easily the better choice...based on the film...based on his size...based upon the acumen he demonstrated on the whiteboard....based upon the intangibles you could read from him in interviews...

but it is what it is...

We have Keenum....Goff and Mannion....

we haven't been 2-1 since 2006....we have the youngest team in the NFL....and considering our recent draft success and key UDFA pick ups we've had...the trade actually doesn't ding us as bad as many people believe...

I think it's getting more likely we'll see Goff start at home against Buffalo in 2 weeks.

they'd trade whatever they need to (the price probably wont' be TOO high) for Tony Romo in the offseason.

i mean, unless they are convinced by then that Goff is THAT DUDE.

Romo has tread on the tires as long as the tire doesn't have a hole in them, and I can't imagine the 'Boys keeping him if Dak keeps on keepin on. Dallas can get picks and unload his salary and have Dak play for low low money (how the Seahawks got lucky with RW3).

that's a good look for both teams.

but man, fuck Jeff Fisher six ways from Sunday.

Tony Romo will retire shortly...and he should retire...

I'd rather have all 3 of the current QBs on our roster in over Romo...

you mean like when Keenum took 4 sacks in his short stint as starter at the end of the year? Including the one where Fisher left him on the field with his brain scrambled. Guess that's why Pro Football Focus ranked the Rams' O=line 31st out of 32 teams...only in ahead of Seattle.

and a thousand yard rusher..

in fact...

the Rams had a rookie Zac Stacy gain 973 yds in 12 games.... Tre Mason with 765 in 9 games.....then a Rookie of the Year in Todd Gurley...

last year as a rookie Rob Havenstein didn't give up any sacks last season in his 13 starts....

Bad offensive lines don't have 1,000 yd rushers....give up the fewest sacks...and have starting rookie RTs that don't give up ANY sacks..

sorry...doesn't work that way....

we're in a bit of a unique situation...

usually...the youngest team in the league isn't going to make it to 7-9 like we did last year...then come back and are still the youngest team in the league...

we have the benefit of not having to make a desperate panic move to get a hurt veteran...coming off of back to back rookie of the years....being 7-9 last year with 3 very winnable games that got away from us.... having 1 loss against what most believed was the NFL's strongest division....

we're in a lot better shape than most think..and the fact that we're 2-1 for the first time in a decade shows that...

Tony Romo should retire...now

first game? 0 points.

2nd game? 9 points and you beat the Seahawks which the Rams somehow always do.

3rd game? you beat Tampa Bay by the grace of god and Tampa's boneheaded play.

so yeah, 2-1 is really proving a lot.

no one is gonna try to say Romo is young. he's still miles better than every QB on the the Rams roster and, if he can stay healthy, 2-4 more productive seasons left in him.

Aaron Rodgers was a beast at Cal, he scared the shit out of me.

Dude almost ended three straight undefeated seasons and nearly beat the Trojans by himself his senior season in the Coliseum.

Jake Locker was better than Jared Goff, because he was at least kinda tenacious and could overcome adversity with a lack of talent or coaching around him plus he scared me with his legs.

Mariota, same thing.

And one is already retired, while Mariota is probably going to prove to be a spread sham.

Luck won at Stanford, nobody did that including John Elway, he scared me.

Jared Goff never won a single game in three years against either Los Angeles team in six tries and they weren't even good LA teams.

Well, y'all are never actually good over in Westwood, but I'm talking about SC being sanctioned plus down with the after-effects of that coupled with dummy coaches and AD's too.

I literally never witnessed the supposedly great Jared Goff beat a single team of note, he was more of an empty stats guy than Cody Kessler in college which is saying something because he sucks too.

Thank you to Jeff Fisher and the rest of the "brain trust" of the LA-LA-LA Rams, many who've helped that franchise miss the playoffs for 13 going on 14 straight seasons.

And yes y'all missing those playoffs...AGAIN...this year, with Goff watching or even more likely if/when Goff actually plays.

Write that down. Take a picture. I do not give a single solitary fuck and did not stutter or side-step any of that shit.

I haven't cared or feared the Rams since Bush's first term and don't see that changing any time soon.

I love y'all because you by accident helped us to find our first long-term answer at QB since early in Donovan McNabb's career.

I fear Dak Prescott being good far more than I do Jared Goff...and I ain't really scared of him either because the Cowboys had a good QB in Romo and still never really hurt us even being in the same division outside of 2009 (which was really more about McNabb's falloff and Jim Johnson's death).

Good luck with all of it, homie.

But I'm still saying "Jared Goff lolololol" until further notice.

peace.

from the beginning I said I wanted the Rams to draft Carson Wentz....did tons of homework on both guy prior to the draft, and was convinced that Wentz was the better pick...no Monday morning QB'ing here....

but it's funny to me how due to their ineptitude in recent years that after 3 games Philly fans are geeked on Wentz so much that they are turning into QB experts ....

Goff was on some terrible teams at Cal, but he put up solid numbers..... He's yet to play a down of NFL football in a real game, and folks like yourself are putting him the bust column because they are so geeked about what's happening to Philly with Wentz....g'head...enjoy yourself....

but here's the thing....

Jared Goff has played a total of 1 series with the Rams 1st string offense during the preseason(minus Gurley of course)... on that drive he led his team down the field for a TD against the Super Bowl Champ's first string defense....He played inconsistent with the 2nd and 3rd/4th string offense around him... but none of that put him on the bench to start the season... He plays for a coach that didn't play McNair, nor Young right away...and Goff honestly wasn't even given the chance to beat out Keenum this preseason, because had he been given the chance...he would have gotten more work with our starting offense during the preseason games..... Once I saw that..and knowing Jeff Fisher..I knew he wasn't going to start the season.... and I have no problem with that at all...

Carson Wentz started the season for the Eagles after playing very little in the preseason and getting his ribs broken when he did play....but the Eagles are in a different position than the Rams, and could afford to take the risk of playing a Rookie...and it's worked out.... You had no expertise to know it was going to work out.....and are simply trying to put extras on this 3 game winning streak ....understandably so being that the Eagles have been pretty lackluster the last few years...

putting Goff in right away wasn't worth the risk for the Rams in a new city....with tons of people freshly dropping down thousands on season tickets....

it was a conservative move....but we're in First place, and I think the chances are pretty good that Goff sees his first action against Buffalo at home in 2 weeks....

Not a QB expert, I didn't bother watching Wentz to much until he got here really...but I do know when I see a real QB on the field, he's one...it's just a matter of degree and/or injury.

I saw Goff because he played at Cal.

Didn't like him then, don't like him now.

lol at the Rams not being in a position of affording to take the risk of playing the #1 overall pick over the two bums you have who are both worse than Bradford.

St Louis in '01 wasn't a trek that I was gonna be able to make...plus I really didn't see how we'd have a shot in that game. That Rams team was beastly.

when you consider the amount of moving and traveling the Rams had done up to that point...

Just a few days before the season opener....immediately after returning from Denver and the last preseason game ....moving from UC Irvine where the training camp was to Oxnard which is where their regular season offices and training facilities are located.

That topping off the upheaval of the move from St Louis and all the energy and attention in LA....

that SF opener was the perfect let down opportunity...

they made solid adjustments before Seattle....played in front of one of the largest crowds to ever see an NFL game in their home opener....and they started to get their swagger back...

The Rams won both of their home pre-season games...in front of 80k and 70k.... they needed that energy....and since they got it...they've improved every week...

We really need a win at home against Buffalo because we have a stretch of 1 month without another game at the Coliseum coming after next week...

if we can make it through that at or near the top of the division....we got a winnable stretch with big home games towards the end of the season...

they're 6-0 over the last 2 seasons against the only 2 teams in their division who have made the playoffs in recent years..

the Los Angeles Rams being in first place right today seems like a natural progression

and right around the corner from that 3-7 record I told you about. Only thing that might save you is Ryan Fitzpatrick throwing you 5 picks...of course, Keenum might throw them all back. Speaking of which, no update on Case's stats? How about a progress report on how well Brian Quick is playing. I guess year 5 is the year he puts it all together, right?

til after next Sunday when they're 4-8? The #2 overall pick OL was a healthy scratch yesterday. Nice pickup by Fisher and Snead. OL coach said his technique is all over the place. Still??? SMH. Still waiting on that Brian Quick update, bro. Oh...is the Saints' D that much bum juice or is Goff that much better than Keenum and Fisher had no idea? Fisher declared emphatically in the offseason "we're not fucking going 7-9!!!" Probably the first true thing he's said in years.

"Rams coach Jeff Fisher has lost 6 of his last 7 games and is streaking to the top (or is it the bottom) of the NFL record book for most losses in a career. On Sunday, he passed Dallas coach Tom Landry as the second losingest coach in NFL history - although it took Fisher 81 fewer games to get there. It will take two losses to tie Dan Reeves at 165 and three to move past him. Up next for the Rams: a visit to New England, followed by a home contest vs. Atlanta and a road game in Seattle. "

79. "The contract extension isn't what it seems to be...."
In response to Reply # 0

Fisher and Sneed were given some promises...some guarantees....prior to the relocation....

those guarantees dealt with COMPENSATION....as opposed to guarantees that either will have a job beyond this season.

Jeff Fisher is done at the end of the season as the Rams coach...I'd say it's about 70/30 that Sneed is also done as the Rams GM at the end of the season.

What their "contract extensions" did was put in writing what they had already agreed upon before the Rams moved..... compensation for guiding the Rams through a cross country move. Had the Rams fired Fisher at the end of last season....which they had ample reason to do.... they would have taken on a cross country move...AND starting over with a new staff....that would have been a bad thing on multiple fronts.....

Now when you move on from Fisher at the end of the season, he gets compensated for his help getting the Rams moved across the country.....and that's a solid move by them...

again...Fisher is done as the Rams coach...he knows it...and all that are paying attention could figure this out..

have you ever seen a contract extension announced with the team communicating that the coach will still be fired if the team feels its best?

http://www.ocregister.com/articles/rams-737386-fisher-year.html

Bonsignore: Despite contract extension, Rams, Jeff Fisher are likely headed for divorce

"Barring a major turnaround the rest of the season – not to mention turning a deaf ear to irate Rams fans and all perspective, logic and common sense – Fisher will collect one more year of pay to essentially go away.

The financial gesture represents the Rams’ appreciation for his work in getting them from St. Louis to Los Angeles and the difficulties he endured during the two-year process of breaking up with St. Louis and beginning a new life in Southern California

It’s a contract extension that feels more and more like an exit package."

That it came out the way it did early Sunday morning via sources and leaked information tells you all you really know about what the Rams think about the whole thing.

As quickly as the news broke, word was discreetly sent indicating the two-year deal essentially amounts to just a one-year contract as the Rams own the option on 2018.

They can easily walk away from Fisher after this year and just owe him for 2017."

A contract extension does not give Jeff Fisher any more job security. Rams must win and play well down stretch or his job will be in danger.

According to a report from Alden Gonzalez, the Los Angeles Rams are not fully committed to either Fisher or Snead (via ESPN):

“The extension does not seem to guarantee much for Fisher, beyond compensation. It’s viewed more as a token of appreciation from owner Stan Kroenke, who didn’t want Snead or Fisher to enter the offseason with lame-duck status. But the Rams would not be opposed to going in another direction at head coach — or general manager — if the Rams do not show that they are well-equipped to be consistent winners moving forward.”

The report also adds that the team could “part ways with Fisher after the season and owe him only one year of salary” if he is unsuccessful with the team.

The Rams are here..... with all due respect...they aren't trying to be the St Louis Rams of Los Angeles.....they are now and in the future the Los Angeles Rams.....

New Coach......New City......New Stadium....

With the Rams about to put PSLs up for sale for the most expensive and elaborate Sports stadium and entertainment development in the country.... they aren't about to sustain the mediocrity that they've brought from St Louis beyond this season by keeping one of the losingest coaches in NFL history while a fan base has filled the LA Coliseum with over 80K for every home game..... but as they should...they are compensating him for bringing the youngest team in the NFL across the country....

The Rams will go into this offseason as THE prime NFL coaching vacancy for whomever is the hottest candidate available...

They coulda put him out of his misery a couple games ago but maybe they were hoping he'd quit. He was probably happy to keep eating "L"'s but the team probably wanted to get this shit over with because LA doesn't like watching losers.

even though word of the extension was leaked...

and that's what has happened...

not sure if you're from the Lou....but I've seen a lot of st Louis fans claiming the Rams will never win because of Stan Kroenke...which has little to do with Kroenke beyond the fact he moved his team from St Louis.... But I understand their bitterness..

but some facts...

Stan Kroenke has hired 1 coach for the Rams.... Jeff Fisher. When Jeff Fisher was hired, he was the most sought after available coach at the time and he chose the Rams over the Dolphins...

the idea that there is something Stan Kroenke does...or doesn't do that equates to losing teams is not based in ANY facts whatsoever...

when Brian Shaw was hired as the Nuggets coach...he was the most sought after young first time head coaching prospect available at the time coming out of Phil Jackson's championship staff...

Kroenke also hired George Karl for the Nuggets..who again was extremely sought after with a proven track record..

You never know how things are going to turn out..... all you can do is judge a guy on whether or not the guy he hires, was a solid choice at the time.... and Kroenke has a proven record with that...

it hasn't worked out...he's moving on..

I can guarantee you that his 2nd Rams hire will also be the most acclaimed available coach out there this offseason, regardless of who that might be.... No doubts about that whatsoever.

(what's funny is that I can link you to a St Louis post Dispatch article that points out the same things I just mentioned regarding Kroenke hires ..from the time they hired Fisher... of course now they call the guy the worst owner ever and pure evil manifested)

https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/nfl/report-jon-gruden-would-listen-to-pitch-from-rams/ar-AAlusnC

Report: Jon Gruden would listen to pitch from Rams

Jon Gruden has not coached since the 2008 season and seems to enjoy his job as an analyst for ESPN, but a report says he would listen to a pitch if the Rams showed interest in him for their coaching job.

The Rams are looking for a new coach after firing Jeff Fisher on Monday amid a 4-9 season. Names like Jim Harbaugh and Gruden have been thrown around. While Harbaugh seems to just be getting started at Michigan, the Rams might have a little more luck talking with Gruden.

The LA Times’ Sam Farmer reported the following on Monday:

Those close to Gruden have indicated he would listen to a Rams pitch, however, and that he might be interested in a return to coaching after seven years as color analyst for ESPN’s “Monday Night Football.”

Gruden went 95-81 during his coaching career, which entailed stints with the Raiders and Bucs, including a Super Bowl win with Tampa Bay.

Gruden’s name has come up many times when teams have had coaching vacancies, but he’s never left the comforts of the ESPN broadcasting booth. One reason why is he’s reportedly being paid an absurd amount of money that is in line with what many NFL coaches earn.

Atmosphere is more like a borderline D1/D2 college game, concessions are trash, bathrooms are few, lines are horrendous (and the place was *maybe* two-thirds full) and the product on the field matched that bush league-ness. At least their defense is pretty good and Kaepernick still managed to channel his game from five years ago and take over the game at the end. The crowd was like half Niners fans, and it's not like they are in the throws of a winning season.

The worst part is that now we have to watch these pricks on TV every Sunday and no longer get the choice games. Can we give them back please?

And you will know MY JACKET IS GOLD when I lay my vengeance upon thee.
