Bron might follow suit w/ his 2011-13 run (Sidekick Wade CAN'T claim it as his era) if he doesn't win another chip.

Tim was the best player on the '99 team & was the most consistent performer throughout the '14 playoff run on a team w/o a legit superstar so that's 15 seasons.

If we are talking about 2 seasons of dominance then ain't nobody seeing Hakeem.

WHAT'S GOOD *****? What's REALLY good?!?!????!!! Ha HA!

Your Kobestan crutch getting kicked out from underneath you. If you didn't say dumb stuff so often, you wouldn't have to try and snake out of it so often. You and CaseOne would make a great couple.

Holla at me when you discover the MVP of ANY KIND that Kobrick won in his so called "2000-02" era. Until then sidekick gonna sidekick: http://assets.espn.go.com/i/infographics/20160120_nbaalltimerank/12.png

I'm aware of cgonz00cc being Pistons fans who HATES LeBron b/c he single-handily beat the Pistons in 2007 w/ Boobie & 'em.

*I* also called his boy Brady eventually getting got by Pey-Pey in yet another conference championship which still has him SALTY.

You came up with some manufactured, half thought out criteria as usual and then tried to snake out of it after someone used your own criteria against you, as usual...then you proceeded to use the typical crutches of kobestan and ya'll are emotional, with some caps thrown in.

Almost like you're typing off a script.

Oh, I had to qualify my "criteria" by stating the OBVIOUS that I'm SPECIFICALLY talking about winning a champion as the undisputed FRANCHISE player? LMAO!

This ain't no double standard for Kobrick, Wade ain't going to be claiming 2011-13 as *HIS* era even though he actually won as the #1 guy BEFORE LeBron. Part of an era but didn't OWN it.

Don't conflate someone pulling your card with them actually being interested in your topic/criteria; But if you're gonna create them, then be consistent and don't snake out of them when your card gets pulled.

I've been consistent but y'all just want to take everything out of context so y'all could slide '00-'02 as Kobrick's era, lol.

Last I checked, it's a CONSENSUS that the Pippens of the world don't get to claim eras so no need to SPECIFY winning a championship as a sidekick ain't exactly what I was talking about! *SMH*

Duke needed OT to score 50 meanwhile AI did it 3 times in regulation & outscored PRIME Kirby 48-15 in a playoff game.

Let's not even talk about Jorn.

Scored 81 against a lotto team & 60 on 50 shot against a lotto team, he's the champ of crushing lotto team in meaningless games. I agree!

I don't think the game going to OT should diminish it, lol that's a reach....you never hear anyone downplay Jordan's 63 because the game went to double OT. And Kobe's had 48 & 49 points before so let's relax, you're nitpicking.

>I don't think the game going to OT should diminish it, lol
>that's a reach....you never hear anyone downplay Jordan's 63
>because the game went to double OT.

Jorn scored 63 against the 80s Celtics meanwhile Kirby had 50 against the vaunted Suns defense that Dirk torched for 50 in REGULATION.

Besides, Jorn has scored 50 TEN TIMES & AI had done it 3 times.

>And Kobe's had 48 & 49
>points before so let's relax, you're nitpicking.

He couldn't score 50 in the playoffs at his PEAK despite his team needing it after Shaq abandoned him.

Other than 2009 when he went up against Django's team that Bron annihilated in the ECF, his finals performance has been underwhelming:

-2000: Scored less total points than Austin Croshere

-2001: Iverson embarrassed him by outscoring him 48-15 that Lue had to come to his rescue. (Outscored by 11 on basically the same TS%)

-2002: Snack averaged 10 more points

-2004: Rip Hamilton (21.4/TS:50%); Kobrick (22.6/TS: 45%)

-2008: Ray (20.3/TS: 70%); Kobrick (25.7/TS: 50%)

-2010: 23 pt on 6-24 shooting in Gm 7

Meanwhile, Jorn OWNS all the post-merger NBA Finals scoring records. Kobrick on the other hand owns all the BRICK records pre-&-post merger.

WHAT'S GOOD *****? What's REALLY good?!?!????!!! Ha HA!

My subject line DIDN'T state Jorn scored 63 in REGULATION whatsoever.

Y'all brought up Jorn's 63 & all I said about that was he did it against the 80s Celtics defense while Kirby did it against the D'Antoni Suns D, nothing about it being in regulation. I just added Dirk dropped 50 on those same Suns in regulation during the WCF.

Jorn had MORE than ONE 50 point game in the postseason as he's the all-time leader, 63 was just one of 'em. Meanwhile, Bron already passed Kirby up on 45+ point postseason games: https://usatftw.files.wordpress.com/2014/05/mj.gif?w=1000

>excuses, excuses. bean balled out. cry.

Horry wasn't impressed:

"He's the best right now, there's no one greater than him," said Robert Horry, a teammate of Olajuwon's in Houston. "Without him, we probably would have been sitting at home watching this. I know we would have. Shaq was like a big man playing with little kids, he was so dominant."

a finals MVP. At 38, he arguably was the Spurs postseason MVP during their 2014 Finals championship run. LO fucking L at Kobe leading his team to anything of note in his mid 30s. Duncan's peak was as high (if not higher) and he sustained his greatness far longer than Kobe.

Kobe is certainly an all time great and the best *scorer* of his generation. But best player? Nah.

Timmay played four years in college. Four years going against inferior competition so subtract four years off your argument to be honest. GOAT's first four years after high school were against NBA players not college teams with maybe one NBA player. 4 - mid 30s (35) is 31.... *hands you an L*

You bringing up Timmay is lowkey reinforcing another agenda driven aspect to this discussion so thank you for bringing him up.

They play in a Western conference tougher than anything Jordan faced and GOAT not contending for a title with a finished Nash and DHo that could not handle LA is not GOAT's fault. This is the GM's fault not GOAT.

By that time Duncan had already won BACK TO BACK MVP/DPOY/*LED* the Spurs to their *3rd* CHAMPIONSHIP

And he was the focal point of the Spurs the very minute he stepped on the court - he didn't have the luxury of playing off of David Robinson and being brought along gradually as the 2nd banana - DRob gladly stepped aside and said its your team now and Duncan immediately snatched up his ring while Kobe was hoping Feel could get LA back on track...and Kobe was able to play pressure-free during those years because at that time ALL the pressure to win a chip was on Shaq

There are other FACTS that easily support the argument that Duncan was the better player of the two...but unfortunately for Duncan he has SEVERAL REASONS working against him why he won't be revered like Kobe was even though if there is one athlete we should celebrate it should be Duncan

It doesn't help that Timmay plays in a small media market (can you imagine if he had his same career in BOS or NY)....he's been in the league 19 seasons and he's still largely unknown outside of die hard nba fans (compare that to Kobe who plays in Hollywood)

It also doesn't help that Duncan, unlike Bean, isn't an exciting player which means he's not going to bring in the casual viewers

Nah man, I know Laker nation is still high off of Bean's performance but he wasn't the best player of his era

whats Kobe's *defining* playoff performance??
A performance that essentially sets the gods apart from the stars: along the lines of MJ's 63 in Boston, the flu game, and the shot
AI's 48 in LA or "Bathsalt" Bron in Boston.

I honestly cant recall any for Mamba. Plz dont say 17 rebounds, thats laughable and you know it

49 and 10 assists in game 2 against the Nuggets in 08, 50-8-5 in game 5 vs Phx in 06....that's off the top of my head. Looking it up, his series average against Sac in 01 was 35-9-4 on 47% shooting, vs SA in 01 the averages were 33-7-7 on 51% shooting, vs Denver in '09 the averages were 34-6-6 including imo the 2nd best playoff game of his career (behind the Kings game I mentioned): 40-6-5 at Denver in game 3.

You can choose to remember or not remember whatever you want or define certain things as "memorable" to fit your narrative but he's not only had some great games but consistently great series.

"The Kobe-LeBron debate is silly right now. LeBron is a once-in-a-lifetime athlete who plays basketball. Kobe is a once-in-a-decade basketball player with exceptional athleticism. When you watch Kobe play, there is little doubt that his father played the game, too. Kobe plays with an instinctive intelligence that can only be passed generation to generation.

The only legit question now is whether Kobe will make a run at Jordan's mythical throne.

A couple of Shaq-less titles and the argument would be on.

We're talking about one of the great students of the game. Kobe has never denied wanting to be the best of all time."

That pathetic, disgusting fat fuck challenged Kobe to win titles on his own to join the class of MJ, Magic etc, and he did just that, and yet Whitlock switched up and doesn't want to give him his credit. He is truly an embarrassment as a journalist with no integrity.

http://nesn.com/2011/02/kobe-bryant-takes-offense-to-jason-whitlocks-question-after-nba-all-star-game/

Kobe Bryant won his fourth NBA All-Star Game MVP on Sunday night, and he didn’t let a leading question in his postgame news conference spoil his good mood. Bryant spoke of the energy he gained when playing alongside young stars like Blake Griffin and Russell Westbrook. Fox Sports columnist Jason Whitlock found the comments interesting, so he asked Bryant if he was making subtle hints toward the Lakers organization. “Kobe,” Whitlock said, “not to twist your words or read too much into what you said, but being around young players energized you — that’s not a statement about maybe you’d like to see some young players on your team?” The question was met with a drawn-out “Wowwwwww” from Bryant. “You know what, that’s a Bikram Yoga stretch,” Bryant said. “You stretched the hell out of that … good job. Good job. I’m not even gonna answer that, that’s just silly. Next.”
