"Floyd v. GGG..... I told y'all"

looks like Floyd is interested in coming back to fight that Giant GGG that er'body said he wouldn't fight...

that's the only fight for Floyd out there worth anything... if you want to be great you have to do what the great ones did....

http://www.inquisitr.com/2931284/floyd-mayweather-jr-vs-gennady-golovkin-2/

The 49-0 Mayweather was interviewed by the boxing news site FightHype, taking to the site to throw cold water on rumors that he will emerge from retirement for another fight against Philippines great Manny Pacquiao — whom Mayweather defeated in a lopsided unanimous decision in May of 2015.

Pacquiao is scheduled to fight his third fight against American Timothy Bradley in an HBO Pay-Per-View bout at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas on April 9.

The new rumors of a Floyd Mayweather Jr. rematch against Manny Pacquiao started earlier in the week when Mayweather’s trainer and father, Floyd Mayweather Sr., seemed to drop a hint about the fight in an interview of his own.

But the younger Mayweather quickly quashed that notion.

“When they talk about me fighting Pacquiao, totally false,” he told FightHype. “It doesn’t matter what my father says. My father can only express his opinion on what he feels, but I’m letting every know as of right now, I’m not interested in fighting anyone. I don’t want to hear this anymore, Floyd Mayweather-Pacquiao. That’s over with. That chapter is over with.”

But Golovkin’s trainer, Abel Sanchez, said on Tuesday that when Mayweather says “anyone,” his own fighter, GGG, is not just “anyone.”

“He just seems to be fixated on Golovkin,” Sanchez said in a boxing podcast interview “I’ve seen three or four pieces in the last couple of weeks where he’s talking about beating Golovkin. It looks like he’s laying the groundwork for something, whether it’s Golovkin or somebody else. Floyd is laying the groundwork for a comeback.”

To see what Mayweather would be facing if he did return to fight GGG, watch highlight of Golovkin’s “greatest hits” courtesy if HBO in the following video.

It is true that in the 39-year-old Mayweather’s FightHype interview the “retired” multi-division champion did not completely deny that he would accept a comeback fight against Gennady Golovkin, 33. In fact, he said, “I’ll fight him,” which may be the most definitive statement he has made about returning to the ring since announcing his retirement last September.

But Mayweather was careful to set a very specific condition.

“I told Triple G what he had to do if he wants a fight with me,” Mayweather said. “He’s gotta call out Andre Ward, beat Andre Ward, and then I’ll fight him. I haven’t seen him call out Andre Ward yet.”

Mayweather may believe that he has set the bar too high for Golovkin, who fights at the middleweight limit of 160 pounds, to meet. Andre Ward now fights at light heavyweight, 175 pounds, making his debut in the division on Saturday by cruising to an easy unanimous decision over Cuban Sullivan Barrera.

Floyd would get his ass destroyed if he ever took this fight.. which he WON'T.

sure GGG, just move up to 168, maybe even 170, beat Ward, then shrink down to 154 and fight Floyd Lol. if Genady did fuck around and KO Ward, Floyd drawers would be so shitty he'd probably demand a catchweight of 152 or some shit.

any way u put it, this fight will NEVER happen. this is nothing more than mental masturbation.

oh he has to fight andre ward AND beat him?! at 175? LOL

i like how floyd is hooking up andre ward with a payday, but GGG would be not smart to take that fight

i dunno how many wild swinging young bulls Floyd gotta put on time out before people will finally get thats not the key to the lock

Canelo? nope. a counter puncher who still has no idea how to apply intelligent pressure or cut off the ring.

Maidana? Ok, but he had zero quality wins at 147. couldn't even get past a faded Devon Alexander.

that's about the end of the list above 135. ... unless u wanna mention Arturo Gatti lololololololol. Baldomir?? hahahahahahahahahahahahaha

the fact that u would even put GGG in any category of wild swinging young bulls speaks volumes about your lack of knowledge about him as a fighter. who could u really compare him to that Floyd has fought before???

Floyd repeats his sentiment that GGG will have to move up two weight classes to fight a top 5 P4P, then down 3 weight classes to fight at a catch weight - both of which are highly unlikely scenarios.

I still think he stays retired, as he should (and has earned the right to).

...and he passed on too many top fighters in their prime to be considered one of the GOATS.

Paul Williams at 147

Margarito at 147

Cotto at 147-- please save the plea cop about Floyd challenging him at 140 when Cotto was still developing, while ignoring the perfect set up they had when Cotto was undefeated at 147 coming off the Mosley win, and Floyd coming off the Hatton win, then faking a retirement (again) to avoid a huge money fight with prime Cotto).

Pacquiao in his prime at 147.

Floyd was the greatest of his generation though. the Canelo fight is really what sealed his legacy to me. that and the Diego Corrales fight. not much else worth mentioning in the realm of greatness.

He's one of the greatest ever.

I neither know nor care where he is on the list.

There are probably decent-good arguments for 10 guys.

So who cares.

Let's stop being petty and start appreciating one of
the greatest to ever do it.

10 guys??? you must be talking about talent and technique, cuz i KNOW u know 10+ guys more accomplished, with better resume's than Floyd.

>So who cares.

lol i feel u bruh, re: this whole years old Floyd debate, but with a topic like this, it's more enjoyable to be petty and debate about how the hell u would think Floyd was top 10 GOAT.

all good though. i can let it go and agree to disagree, as we've probably exhausted this topic anyway.

foreal tho, i miss the boxing debates and came here to talk a lil shit

peace O

that other giant Canelo Alvarez until he actually did...

maybe he will fight him..maybe he won't....

but I'm pretty sure he realizes that literally nobody wants to see him fight his usual suspects of either average guys with belts or past their prime champions...neither of which present little to know risk....

if he doesn't want to fight guys that present a challenge...then he should stay retired....

people were laughing when he threatened to come back and fight Danny Garcia just to overstage Canelo v. Khan...

Danny Garcia???

really???

smh....

The notion that he has to fight GGG for legacy or any other reason is absurd on its face.
