"YO WHEN DID USHER GO AND SIGN WITH MAN UNITED????"
Thu Mar-03-16 10:59 PM by Castro

AND HOW COME HE SCORING ALL THEIR DAMN GOALS?!?!?!?

HOW IS RACIST ASS MAN U HOOLIGANS GONNA DEAL WITH THEIR NEW BUH-LACK STAR CHILD?

HAS ENGLAND CALLED HIM UP TO THE NATIONAL TEAM???

Since Italy drove my dude Super Mario insane, I'ma have to follow Rashford too.

Dude got pace like James Rodriguez and he look like he can score with both feet.

What will England do with their new Obama on the Pitch Overlord???

Mourinho comes, he's going to buy a bunch of late 20s mercenaries and all these youth players will be buried. It's what he does.

Not to mention de Bruyne, Lukaku...all players at Chelsea, just in this last stint, that he wouldn't work with.

He bought Varane. He had Jese and didn't play him. He had Cheryshev and didn't play him.

He has made no secret of the fact he doesn't trust youth players. That is antithetical to the United philosophy and one of the chief reasons most of the club and player hierarchy don't want him coming near the place. I would rather stick it out with LVG and hand it over to Giggs than to abandon our youth team in favor of the Portugese Phil Jackson.

He's also an asshole.

Players that want to play a "beautiful game" do not fit into his system. He basically wishes he was Diego Simeone, but doesn't have the toughness.

Also, he's an asshole. A lovable one at times in press conferences, but sometimes he'll poke the opposing coach in the eye and walk away with a smirk because the refs didn't see it.

Very raw right now but he drifts at times and is a bit naive on just who he can beat with straight pace. England have called him up to their Under 21s and Hodgson has said he has a chance for the Euros, which I doubt given the pool available (Rooney, Wellbeck, Vardy, Kane) unless there are a ton of injuries.

But the kid is incredibly grounded and humble, which is the touchstone of this generation of players coming through the system. Day after that Arsenal game, he was back at highschool taking exams. Borthwick Jackson becoming the left-back of choice, and still getting rides to training from his mom. And like I said above, if Mourinho comes, it will ruin ALL of this. He will demand we spend $200MM on 4 players and these kids will go back to being "promising talents" that we never see.

The only thing keeping Van Gaal there is a trophy-- and that trophy is not walking through that door.

I know people (United fans) like to point at how Mou and Louis worked together at Barca but I don't think Louis will take a step down to Mou and I don't think Mou will accept anything other than a managerial job (that's probably the least of it as he's likely looking for total control).

But hell, what do I know?

Paul Pogba
Romelu Lukaku
Pierre Aubemayang (or something like that)
Raheem Sterling
Daniel Sturridge
David Alaba

This is by no means exhaustive.

my original post was about watching the sport (not sure if you do) and figuring it out yourself since everyone has their own opinions.

Also, as this thread indicates, there are a few up-and-comers but I don't take 2 or 3 games as indication of potential. Martial and this other kid do look good though, but at United, well, the bar is relatively low at this point.

Also, given the international nature of the sport, not sure what qualifies as "Black" to you. That was actually the second part of my original post and why I edited. Didn't want to get into anything.

The biggest sign to me was how he reacted to playing at the Camp Nou in a CL match...confident, unfazed. His skills are obvious but he has the mental edge to match. For a 19 yo, that's scary...you see the same thing with Bellerin and also Martial.

On his goal today, the most impressive aspect to me was the fact that he is the one who made the tackle to turn possession over and then makes the 70 yard run to be fed by Bellerin for the goal. Like the mentality aspect, you can't really teach work-rate.

While allowing another manager to take over the managing duties, could be the best of both worlds. That being said, a major reason why these kids develop under Wenger is bc he believes in his players so staunchly (which becomes a double edged sword with players who are clearly past their primes and/or playing out of position...case in point: Arteta) so he continues to play them through the ups and downs. Not sure how that would work with a different manager now making those decisions (unless you also have a manager who is committed to that development aspect, Klopp comes to mind as an example but obviously he's not available).

This is all conjecture obviously lol, Arsene likely will just want to retire once he's done managing.

He really coulda had 2 goals and an assist...but his composure on the ball combined with his vision and quickness of thought, all on full display today. He should be starting every game on the left from here on out.

This isn't something anywhere near a majority of football fans have a problem with and it's not new that there are black people excelling - maybe a very tiny minority in the stands (and yes, I watch from the actual stands at Arsenal) but black people have been common in the elite of football since we were all kids, when you newly-christened experts still thought Chelsea was just the daughter of the Governor of Arkansas. I grew up with my bedroom plastered with posters of Ian Wright, Kevin Campbell and John Barnes and watching Garth Crooks doing the punditry on Match of The Day.

Man Utd were cheering for Andy Cole and Dwight Yorke two decades ago.

Arsenal's most beloved players *ever* are Ian Wright and Thierry Henry.

Paul Ince captained Liverpool and England in the 90s. John Barnes had awwwwlll the sponsorship deals in the 80s.

Chelsea practically worship Drogba as a deity.

I don't know if you've ever heard of a little known chap called Pele?

Where were you when the rest of the kids in the world were doing the Roger Milla dance around corner flags in 1990?

I could genuinely carry this post on all day. If you're interested in football, be interested in football...
