Tl;dr Baseball umps show a small but significant bias against pitchers of another race. The factor works out to be one pitch per game or so.

Good read.

I'm halfway through moneyball right now and loving it. Baseball is growing on me. I love how you can derive so much meaning from statistical analysis compared to other sports.
