>Why is John Wall not on this team? That is one outrageous ommission.

John Wall is currently at Team USA's minicamp in Las Vegas, a three-day victory lap for USA Basketball, with 34 of the country's best and brightest in attendance.
But instead of participating in Wednesday's practice, the Washington Wizards point guard was on the sideline.
@jorgeccastillo John Wall was held out of Team USA's minicamp practice today to rest. Nothing wrong with left hand/wrist. 4:23 PM - 12 Aug 2015
Thank goodness this (reportedly) isn't related to the wrist injury Wall suffered in last year's postseason. But it's perfectly understandable for Washington to show a little worry. Wall is the face of that franchise, and one of the sport's brightest stars.
And while he isn't projected to make Team USA's final 12 (outlasting Chris Paul, Russell Westbrook, Stephen Curry and Kyrie Irving is tough), it's still good to see Wall in attendance. Hopefully he's back on the court in time for Thursday's scrimmage.

John Wall showed up for USA Basketball's two-day workout session in Las Vegas but won't play in Thursday's Showcase game.
No, he didn't get cut, again. In fact, the majority of the top NBA players won't play in the Blue-White scrimmage at UNLV, including LeBron James, Kevin Durant and Stephen Curry. And Chris Paul. And Anthony Davis and Russell Westbrook and you get the point. However, the Washington Wizards will have representation as USA Basketball announced the nine-player teams for Thursday's scrimmage (10:30 p.m., ESPN2).
Bradley Beal will play for the Blue team along with Harrison Barnes, DeMar DeRozan, Andre Drummond, Kenneth Faried, Rudy Gay, Amir Johnson, Victor Oladipo and Elfrid Payton.
Blake Griffin, Kawhi Leonard, DeMarcus Cousins and Klay Thompson headlined the White team. Arron Afflalo, Michael Carter-Williams, Draymond Green, Terrance Jones, Mason Plumlee and C.J. Watson.
Wall did miss time during the NBA playoffs after fracturing his wrist, but there is no indication the injury relates to his absence. He participated in Tuesday's workout.
Players were invited if not summoned to Las Vegas if they wanted to remain in consideration for the 2016 Rio Olympics. Wall is among a deep group of point guards while Beal's perimeter shooting gives him a puncher's chance considering the perimeter-heavy aspect of international competition.
If you're wondering, no, C.J. Watson is not really in play for the Olympic team. Some of these players - Johnson, Payton, Afflalo Jones and Watson - were late additions to play in the scrimmage.
Don't put any weight into game performances with regards to Rio. The main objectives are put on a good show and most of all, stay healthy. ___
