boasts a better 1,2 than Melo/Monroe besides Cleveland?

If the knicks do land Monroe and fill out the rest of the lineup decently with defenders/rebounders, a squeak into the playoffs season would be a huge disappointment.

-The Knicks’ coaching search still includes a lone frontrunner, Kurt Rambis, whose qualifications for the position include a strong relationship with Jackson and a willingness to take the job.

Sixers Get

- Nik Stauskas
- Carl Landry
- Jason Thompson
- 2018 1st round pick (top-10 protected)
- Right to swap 1st rd pick w/Kings in '16
- Right to swap 1st rd pick w/Kings in '17

Kings Get

- Rights to Arturas Gudaitis (47th pick in 2015)
- Rights to Luka Mitrovic (60th pick in 2015)

For an opportunity to add Wes Matthews or Monta Ellis. Both of whom might sign somewhere else.

I can imagine the offers they'll get for boogie now. LOL Bag of doritos for Boogie and all your first round picks.

Per RealGM:

2016 first round draft pick from Sacramento
Sacramento's 1st round pick to Chicago (via Cleveland) protected for selections 1-10 in 2016 and 1-10 in 2017; if Sacramento has not conveyed a 1st round pick to Chicago by 2017, then Sacramento will instead convey its 2017 2nd round pick to Chicago protected for selections 56-60 (if this pick falls within its protected range and is therefore not conveyed, then Sacramento's obligation to Chicago will be extinguished)

Soooo...if Sac ends up top 10, Philly can swap if they somehow do better than the Kings (LOL) next season? But if it's outside the top 10, it goes to the Bulls, so unless the Sixers land late lottery or make the playoffs...that 2016 pick swap is crap.

in the regular season?

And if Sac is clearing cap to sign Rondo and Wesley (or a combo of upgrades) what makes you think Wroten, Jalil, Noel and Embiid(?) gonna perform better?

Hinkie is netting assets for a major trade and/or for the picks to pop off. He don't care about winning THIS season. Maybe next year.

Rondo
B-Mac/Wesley
Gay (ugh)
WCS
Cousins

^^^That team would out pace the sixers and probably end up late lottery if they didn't make the lower tier seeds in the West (Portland is gonna fall off, Dal might if they don't get at least 2 significant FA's to replace Tyson and Monta so a couple of slots might open up).

The point is, they no longer even have the chance of getting lucky from, say, the mid to late lottery. Because if they jump up into the top 3, we will likely take their pick.

Let alone that in two years, we'll be better than them.

Let alone, they also threw in a first round pick.

Let alone, they also threw in last year's number 8 pick.

And in the long run, that might work out better for them but I'm just saying...the Kings are trying to get OUT of the top 10. I think next year they have a good shot at it.

After 2016 though...not sure what they'll be/look like.

Personally, I think the Bulls will get their pick next summer and it'll be 10-16 range.

You guys can drain them after that.

please feel do this...assuming we have enough left for Monroe's max of around 15-16 mill.

He'd be great in the triangle...makes Calderon bum ass even more expendable.

$12 mil for him and $7+ locked up in Calderon is a lot at the point guard position, but I'd go for it. He'd definitely take a ton of pressure off Carmelo in terms of scoring, triangle or no triangle.

Especially seeing Chandler get the contract he just did, there def was a bigger market for trading chandler than getting calderon wack ass and his contract. If it wasn't for calderon, i think feel would put together a more attractive offer for Monta.

I think he's worth 12-13 a year, especially in an offense that doesn't need a traditional pg.

exceptions to add an inside banger and rebounder which would be essential. As for moves right now, I'd say get Monta knowing that you still have to make some moves as the year goes on.

If there's a way to get rid of Calderon, do it. lol.

So it'd be more like a lineup of

Monta
Afflalo
Melo
Ed Davis/koufus/Bass for example
Monroe

no wonder he sad the knicks talks were ludicrous.

David West is hoping to join a contender and reportedly has serious interest in joining the Spurs or Warriors.

West declined his $12.2 million player option with the Pacers for 2015-16 and would likely have to sign for close to the veteran's minimum ($1.49 million) to play for the Spurs or Warriors. The 34-year-old said on Wednesday that he just wants to win, so we'll monitor his situation closely to see if he puts his money where his mouth is.

injuries in general that they doubt the player will come back the same. Where are ya'll getting this from?

Everything that i've read and experienced(ruptured mine 4 years ago) is that your achillies is stronger post surgery and that you are able to do everything you did before. Incidents of re-injury aren't likely either.

I understand if a guy is 32,33 years old or older having to rehab for a year and come back is a struggle but for a dude that hasn't hit 30 yet, it really shouldn't be an issue going forward.

well, damn.

No wonder they were all pissed.

Trail Blazers assistant coach Kim Hughes said LaMarcus Aldridge isn't coming back to Portland.

In a surprisingly open statement that his bosses likely won't be happy about, Hughes said that Aldridge won't be re-signing with the Trail Blazers. "Well, people don't realize we just went young," Hughes said while speaking about a bigger role for Meyes Leonard. "We didn't publicize it, but we lost LaMarcus Aldridge. It hasn't been declared yet, but I'm sure he won't come back. We will go young." Hughes isn't believed to have any personnel power within the Blazers organization, but he may have even less power after spilling the beans on this one.

Now I'm going to have to read more stuff online and see if Phil Jackson honestly tried to talk David Faulk down. Dude's been a top tier agent since the 90's, if not the 80's.

Especially with the cap going up. The owners are going to opt out of the CBA in 2017 tho, right? Curry might want to get his reps to start pushing for that extension soon.

in the exact right situation, where you just need a scorer to become a title contender and you have the right roster, ok, maybe.

but y'all? y'all got people who can score the ball, and (sorry) you're not a melo away from being a serious title contender. you'd just be locking yourself into 50-55 wins and cleveland fodder for years

Either u letting that hate out or u r being intellectually dishonest....lol

The Bulls' issue has been an unimaginative offense and the inability to score the ball in a consistent manner...As great as Thibs was at rallying the troops on D, his actual O plays were pretty Vanilla.....

Melo is the answer to the Bulls prayers on that front....

U mentioned the "exact right situation"? That's the Bulls.....Both the Bulls and Cavs got guys with injury histories (Chi--Rose, Clev--Kyrie, Love, Shump...)....I will take my chances with a dude who can knock down 25 in his sleep when teamed up with a team that plays better than average D and a SG who can guard the best guy on the floor...

We went on extreme SCORING droughts. Basa was taking bets on which quarter it'd happen in.

Melo kills ALL of that for us.

And LMAO even harder at Clev fodder...like that ain't what we've been and are.

With Melo, we have a better shot IMO as he seems to play really well against Bron.

The top portion of the east and west has become an arms race and the pending cap expansion has made that race volatile.

Teams are legit GAINING ON US. Bucks, Indy (maybe), Det, Philly (eventually), ATL, Orl (maybe), Mia (got better off winslow alone).

And we not gonna even talk about the West (Aldridge on the spurs? really? Minny locked and loaded with Nukes? G-state being champs? Utah brewing, Phx trying, Hou trying to build a dream team?)...NOPE.

We need to push our chips to the center of the table for a good 2-3 season run at it. Otherwise, start over, blow up the core and keep the best pieces (Rose, Jimmy, Niko) and build around that for a second go round 3-4 seasons from now.

i'm not arguing melo wouldn't make you better. i'm arguing that he would not make you better enough in the next 2-3 years to sniff a title. even if noah reverses his decline and rose turns back into a 20ppg, efficient player (neither of which is likely to happen), you're not going to be good enough to get out of the East absent multiple* Cleveland injuries, let alone deal with the West. going all in for melo now isn't going to work, and it means you're going to be saddled with another awful contract once melo's decline starts...or continues, given that, you know, he didn't play last year.

*=a hypothetical Bron injury counts as "multiple injuries" alone

the play for you guys is to not take on any contracts longer than 2 years besides jimmy and maaaaaybe big nik. i don't think you have to flip guys for assets or anything, but just ride out with what you got for two years. enjoy your 50 wins and second round exits. meanwhile, keep drafting smart. if you play this right, as soon as rose contract expires you can go big into free agency.

i'm not motivated by Bulls hate in this one. i'm probably motivated by Melo hate a little. mostly, though, i'm motivated by common sense. every statistical model we have says melo won't age particularly well, and he's signed forever. he's not the play.

going for melo is an all-in move. when you do it, you say, we know this gives us a real title chance in the next two years, and after that, melo's contract is going to bite us in the ass. he's a 31 year old coming off a missed season who's making max money for four more years.

if it did give them a real title chance, sure, go ahead and try to get melo. they do not have the players that, plus melo, would be a title contender.

as they stand, all a healthy melo means to them is 3-4 more wins this year, a decrease from that in succeeding years, and a shitty contract.

I don't think u get it homie....With Melo there the pressure would be OFF of Rose....He would no longer have to be a 20ppg plus, MVP caliber talent...He wouldn't have to play the role of savior...But more importantly the Bulls could possibly extend Rose's career (less minutes, less wear and tear)with such a move...

>*=a hypothetical Bron injury counts as "multiple injuries"
>alone

Forget Bron....Injuries have hit Kyrie and Love and Shump. It's the same issues the Bulls have had....U gotta be in it to win it...The Bulls have nothing to lose....

With the new TV deal kicking in, all of a sudden Melo's contract doesn't look that crazy....And who says we gotta wait for Rose's contract to expire? I've said it again and again....The Bulls could def. trade Rose (who is my dog) after the next season....In fact, I think they should see what they could get back for him...Just being realistic here...

I think your Melo hate is def. bigger than your Bulls hate....

Bottom line: Bulls r missing another consistent scorer that can get his own shot...Melo is a lot of things....But no one would ever confuse him with being offensively challenged....

i'm not that crazy. even i think melo will deserve to be on the all star team this coming season. you probably win 55 games with melo this year, maybe even 60 if drose and noah can find dat hot tub time machine.

it just won't make you good enough, AND it will fuck you over for years to come. that's the most basic statement of what i feel, plus one more thing: the only reason to play is to win a title.

if you disagree with any of that statement, cool, but we disagree and there's really not much more to say about it.

why not? with Melo as the #1 option Rose wouldn't need to return to being a 20+ppg scorer, he could be an 18-19 ppg scorer with improved efficiency + add maybe 7-8 apg running the offense without having to worrry about carrying the scoring load; add a healthy Noah into the mix and i'm not sure why that's not good enough.

As for Cleveland, Kyrie gets hurt every year, we still don't really know how Love fits in with this team & he remains an unknown quantity as a playoff performer, and as much of an indestructible cyborg Lebron seems to be, he's been carrying an insane load for a hell of a long time esp. the past 2 years, so he's bound to start slowing down at some point.

Of course as long as Lebron is still in his prime (even if he's entering the back-end of it) Cleveland will be the favorite, but it wouldn't be as impossible for Chicago to compete with them as you're making it out to be.

Which, honestly, for a core of Rose, Butler, Melo, Pau, and Noah, is absolutely worth it. That's a win now squad for a win now scenario. And the Knicks desperately need young assets.

There's zero chance they'd deal for Taj, Kirk, and Doug. Niko and picks bare minimum would need to be added, and I strongly suspect they'd need more. They need to sell to the NY fans where the future is-- Taj, Kirk, and Doug for a franchise player would be laughed out of the state. Throw in picks and another two young assets? That'd be a lot tougher to turn down.

Nah...31 years old coming off a knee injury? Melo will get a decent haul back....But Niko AND Portis AND Doug plus picks, and vets?

That ain't happening....

If the Bulls make such a deal we will give the Knicks either Niko OR Portis OR McBuckets with some combination of draft picks and vets, ect....

Phil isn't just gonna hand 25+ PPG to the Bulls. He would ask for all reasonable long-term assets in exchange for the win-now asset. Taj, Kirk, and Niko isn't enough, so you just won't get him.

They can *easily* get more for Melo from a different team. You either want to win now, or you don't. None of the guys I named are win-now difference makers. You could deal them all, replace the depth with vet min guys, and be an immediate contender in the East.

Noah's window is closing. Pau's window is closing. Phil wouldn't facilitate that process for Taj (a role player), Kirk (an old role player), and Niko (a potential guy).

Melo controls his destiny....He has first trade refusal.....So let's put it all together. The only other teams that would be willing to trade for Melo r teams rebuilding (think the Sixers and the like....)...With Melo in control of his trade rights the Knicks HAVE to play ball to get from under his enormous contract....Melo is only going to a team that can win it all now....And we all know at this point the Knicks want him gone....

>Noah's window is closing. Pau's window is closing. Phil

At this moment, the Knicks are about getting expiring contracts, picks and a young talented piece....Dat Zingis pick tells u all u need to know....FEEL IS ABOUT TO GO FULL BLOWN REBUILD...Hell, I would give u Portis and McBuckets, or Niko somewhere in there with VETS, a quality draft pick, Taj, and an expiring contract....

But if this trade goes down (which is a dream at this point...lol) I'm not handing over Portis, McBuckets, AND Niko together, a draft pick and a vet for a 31 year old coming off a knee injury....

Melo ain't going to a rebuilding team (what's the point in trading him then, he could just stay with the knicks) so it'd have to be a fringe contender or contender.

Those teams aren't ripe with young assets that they'd trade for Melo. The BEST Phil would get (knowing he can't actively send Melo to a wack team) is a combo of picks, young talent and expiring deals.

Taj + Kirk = off the books within 2 seasons, Kirk next summer, Taj after that (and he's a serviceable vet that can help their younger players)
Doug = #11 pick in the 2014 draft
Draft pick

^^^Satisfies all 3. If he doesn't want Taj for 2 years, a 3rd team could be pulled in to take him, that could move a few young assets NY's way (though phil might have to eat a bad contract to make it work, but not one as big as Melos). Boston, Phx, Orl, Utah, Minny are all viable options.

>Phil isn't just gonna hand 25+ PPG to the Bulls. He would ask
>for all reasonable long-term assets in exchange for the
>win-now asset. Taj, Kirk, and Niko isn't enough, so you just
>won't get him.

1. Suck with Melo - 31 yr old, 22 mil player or
2. Suck rebuilding - couple expiring deals (as soon as cap expands), couple young assets and maybe a few more

^^^Option 2 makes more sense

>They can *easily* get more for Melo from a different team. You
>either want to win now, or you don't. None of the guys I named
>are win-now difference makers. You could deal them all,
>replace the depth with vet min guys, and be an immediate
>contender in the East.

From who? Where Melo wouldn't have the same issue he's having now with NY? You think he really gonna be happy playing for the Kings? Wolves? Magic? Lakers (maybe only because of the $/business opportunities but what would LA have/be willing to give up)?

Melo could realistically only go to a handful of teams:

Bulls - Already expressed interest and we were his runner up choice...and we have some assets to pass out.
Clippers - Perfect need, CP3 too...but again...assets for the Knicks?
Wizards - Would be the perfect transition from Pierce...but who/what do they sacrifice to get him?
Heat - He'd get them 'close' but Wade's knees would cripple them and what do they give up for him?
Grizz - Could work, not sure they are interested though
Rockets - Could work but would there be enough shots to go around and what do they give up...D-mo and Terrence Jones?
Mavs - Wouldn't be strong enough to win WITH him
Spurs - Don't need him
Warriors - Don't want him

>Noah's window is closing. Pau's window is closing. Phil
>wouldn't facilitate that process for Taj (a role player), Kirk
>(an old role player), and Niko (a potential guy).

^^^Starting caliber vet/Cap, Cap and young asset

He's not getting much more than that for Melo.

Sorry.

Bulls fans have overvalued Taj from day one. He's not a perennial starter on a good team. Kirk is the ghost of himself, and Doug is still a big question mark.

That and a low first rounder won't get it done at all. Other teams will offer more.

For starters, I'm on record saying I wasn't thrilled with this crop for various reasons so anyone saying I'm trying to spin this is buggin.

The only guy I really wanted was Butler, but that always hinged on the long shot of an extremely creative poison pill type deal.

After that, I saw Aldridge and Love as guys who could keep pressure off the kids as they develop. DJ too, to a lesser extent. Those three can help draw free agents next year. Problem is, After Durant? Not exactly a great FA class.

After that? Look, I've come around on Tobias and I'm willing to overpay him a bit because he's a 3D guy who is still young enough that he can grow with this crop.

Sign him, try to keep Hill for another year, and hope Bean gets injured early enough that the kids can play without the old man barking at them. We are what we are and I'd rather watch the kids develop.

The young kids have to develop. Veteran guys like Lamarcus want to play for chips. We have to get to a point where guys feel like if I come there, we can win a chip there.

The fact that its LA and Holywood isn't enough anymore. Lebron and Kevin Durant are probably the two highest endorsement guys and they live in Cleveland and OKC respectively.

Gimme Ed Davis. He might not wanna come back but he should.

I would have loved LMA on this team, but knew it was a longshot at best. I'm totally good with a full rebuild, and all I want is Mitch to not panic. Kobe's almost done.

I did want LMA bc thought he would allow more space for the kids to develop (as you said) and I think his game will age very well if he has a 5 beside him...but as it stands, keep building the core, get Kobe's contract off the books, and show real on court potential in addition the franchise clout and location to attract FA's.

Especially Kobe. If he can't tell a guy like LA "hey, you can take the reigns and I'll fall back" after three years of injuries while entering his 20th s3ason on a team starving for another star, he's delusional.

And the rumored over emphasis on outside opportunities?

Yeah. I'm good on that. If our management and aged star can't even present a solid pitch to make these guys at least consider us, we're in some serious trouble.

The Lakers haven't landed a top free agent the past 3 off seasons. Getting endorsement deals, movie cameos, record deals, etc. is a given if you play in L.A. It doesn't even need to be mentioned.

We haven't landed a FA in 3 years because we're really, really bad and didn't have any potential. Now we've got 3 very young players with some potential. If they pan out at all, and Kobe retires, we've got something to talk to FA's about.

Until then, gotta sell the LA lifestyle cause there's literally nothing else.

That's what you need to sell them on. Convince them that they are the man that's going to lead this potential to greatness. Everyone knows what the L.A. lifestyle is. Yeah, you're going to have to put up with Kobe's b.s. in the short term but he's on his way out. You...you're the guy who's going to start the next great Lakers dynasty. And being a champion in L.A. is a whole hell of a lot of fun.

As stated elsewhere, the combo of Spaulding Buss and Kobe seems to be pretty unattractive to free agents. Yes, wanting to win is part of a player's decision, but becoming the next great Laker has lost its aura. That's troubling. Hopefully, once Kobe retires and Junior Buss goes and hides somewhere, things will improve.

That "think of the marketing opportunities/Hollywood parties" shit matters to fans and talking heads. Most players aren't going to care about any of that unless they know they'll win, too.

If that's really their approach, they're thinking more like sports radio hosts.

A masked balling out of his mind almost averaging a triple double for a month Westbrook missed going to the playoffs because Anthony Davis hit a toss-up three pointer last year.

A primetime player for the most part doesn't want to spend their years rebuilding in the West, and for good reason.

It's a bad team.

Dloading and Randle do what they should this year, and suddenly this is an attractive spot once Kobe's contract comes off the books. No established FA wants to come to the unknown when they're trying to win titles.

I mean like I said several seasons ago, the NBA marketing is national/international now. We saw Durant as its most visible player from Oklahoma fucking City. Today we see Monroe spurn the Lakers and Knicks for the MILWAUKEE.

Aldridge is coming back to the table but both his and DJ's meetings were tepid to disastrous for the Lakers.

So I mean while none of these guys are LeBron, all three of them and Love are all better than any free agent available in a given year. You look at the Bron/Bosh year, after that it was Amare and Boozer. One year Elton Brand and Josh Smith were the choice options in the FA market.

Basically what I am saying is that while none of these guys are like "WOOOOOOOOOOOW" Shaq-type FAs, they definitely ARE better than what's available in a given year and they are not very risky contracts given their terms and the players' respective ages.

So, in short, IT'S ALL BAD! (c) W.C.

now that it appears David West and Hibbert are gone. But Ellis and George are a good tandem, assuming Paul George returns to form.

**edit**

I'd probably be more comfortable with a two or three year deal rather than a four year one with Ellis, but that's nitpicking on my part.

In response to Reply # 0

http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2512763-kobes-pitch-to-lamarcus-aldridge-reveals-why-free-agents-are-rebuffing-lakers

Kobe Bryant could only say what he knew.

He had lost faith in the Los Angeles Lakers, Bryant told LaMarcus Aldridge.

Bryant did not believe the franchise could help him win again. Until, much to his awe and delight, Bryant said, the Lakers turned it all around in 2008, getting him Pau Gasol and two more titles.

Bryant didn't stop there: He brought up the blocked Chris Paul trade to Aldridge as even greater proof of Mitch Kupchak's team-building brilliance.

Bryant suggested to Aldridge that attempting to land Paul wasn't just paving the way for even more championships; the Lakers were set to save a ton of money in that deal in an even more extraordinary victory. Although the Paul trade wasn't allowed to go down, Bryant said, it just goes to show that you can count on Kupchak and the Lakers to find a way to get you the help you need.

I didn't think this was a repeat of the D12 debacle.

But I do see why LMA wasn't biting. He's 30 and there are better situations out there for the same money.

Kobe didn't necessarily bungle this, but if you're Aldridge, would that really inspire you to turn down the Spurs or Rockets?

I dont think Ainge is Joe Dumars Jr, I think he is actually good enough to put together another good team. They made a good coaching hire, they have a little talent and they have a lot of futures in hand.

I don't think UFAs are Ainge's style, he was never a fiend for cap space (even though they have some at the moment, right?) and he knows most guys on the market are damaged goods or damaged goods to be. There were some decent guys in this market but I didn't see Boston in a position to make a great pitch to anyone.

And you will know MY JACKET IS GOLD when I lay my vengeance upon thee.

Looks like they just cleared enough room to sign LMA without needing a sign and trade.

Tyson Chandler
Lamarcus Aldridge
PJ Tucker
Eric Bledsoe
Brandon Knight

That's a nice squad, but like 6-8th in the West.

compared to last year's Blazers squad. Dude would be insane to turn down San Antonio. At least if Aldridge turns them down, the Suns can use those picks in other ways, so that move doesn't hurt them too much assuming Aldridge spurns them for the Spurs.

On offense, sure. Monta is a much better playmaker, Wes is a much better 3 point shooter.
Defesively Wes is much better, and supposedly a phenomenal locker room guy.

I just dont understand giving Wes that money off the achilles like Ive said a bunch of times already

if I had to take either Monta or Wes to lead a bench unit? yeah, I'd take Monta. He can stir the drink on offense, Wesley can't do that. If I had most of my starting lineup locked in and was looking for a SG to help us win playoff games? I'd take Wesley, each and every time.

I've been hoping Rondo and Boogie could play together for years.

I think Rondo can make WCS look good. And B-Mac better.

His best friend is Josh. Friends with Rudy.

C-Webb hated on WCS this year too.

This shit is a perfect Mad Making Vortex of Asshole'dom.

i don't think most realize exactly how important DAJ was to that team. and they literally have no means whatsoever of replacing him.

i have no clue what that team's gonna look like next season. if they win 55, wouldn't surprise me. if they miss the playoffs, wouldn't surprise me. no idea.

There's also the fact both Chris Paul and Blake have been injury riddled in prior years. Not that he's as good, but the Clippers easily could have signed Robin Lopez. He's miles better than the alternatives on the market now.

Watching Lance Stephenson navigate this debacle next year should be some fun.

they're capped, dude. they can't sign ANYBODY. that's my point, that's what i'm saying. they own DAJ's bird rights so they could've gone over the cap to resign him, but they can't sign any outside free agents.

they literally can't replace him.

paul's his best friend in the league, even more so than d wade and melo. he respects that guy as much as he does anyone. he'd gladly defer.

it's not like lebron _wants_ to be the primary playmaker at this point in his career. he does it out of necessity.

Who else is watching Kings games for the Rondo/George Karl dynamic. Shit is going to make first-year Spo/Kang look like Family Matters.

Rondo and Boogie Cuban B'ing the shit out of everything Karl says. This is the year we see real tension between coach and player.

If Rondo was going to accept that deal then why not come to another team. $9.5 mill is damn near backup money.

If the Spurs don't win 62 games and the chip I'd be more shocked than when the Mavs got bounced in the 1st round by the Warriors in '07.

In response to Reply # 310

He's going to be the starting center, assuming Duncan doesn't come off the bench next year, which is different form the role he assuming in Portland. Regardless if this doesn't result in short terms success, this is a great long term W in terms of having Aldridge and Kawhi to build around in the future.

to put Aldridge at the 5 to save Duncan the wear and tear of having to guard and box out bigs in the paint for 82 games, but I suppose time will tell. I wonder what kind of discount Duncan is going to take to accommodate Aldridge's salary.

I don't see Parker or Ginobli having the legs after the end of an 82 game season to match-up defensively with Golden State, even with Kawhi being a presence for the Spurs on the defensive end. This is still a hell of a movie for the long term though to have Kawhi and Aldridge to build a franchise around, but I still think the Warriors beat them in a seven game series.

of last year's team as possible and hit a home run on that backup guard.

Kyrie is the salvo to the "Kawhi Problem" as demonstrated earlier

I just don't like them getting another offensive option esp. a younger one

It's really a good thing that their oldest non-Duncan players are the guards.

I think the Suns youth definitely had him thinking about going there and being with that core for all 3-4 years....but in the end, Pop and SA's success, culture, honest team identity is the smart choice. Best run organization in all of sports, their sustained longevity in today's age of free agency is the ultimate testament to Buford and Pop.

I'm almost certain DeAndre himself doesn't think he's the next coming of Shaq or 'Shaq-like'.

I'd like to see Mark Cuban present the idea of DeAndre being "Shaq-like" to the panel on his Shark Tank show to see their reactions.

^^ That's not exactly tanking.

All they have to do now is hire Thibs in some capacity and they'll have something to look forward to besides Melo's ball stopping/gunning.
