I learned to DJ on my boys brothers set up in jr high. All he had was house and techno. I caught on so fast. Got the hang of it really fast. When I moved to other genres I realized how difficult it really is.

And by dj's I mean cats who only mix, no unique titles. Some of these dudes get paid exorbitant amounts for what is relatively basic mixing. Can't knock the hustle though.

If you're an actual producer DJ, I can understand cats wanting to pay good money becuase of brand name....but then you have countless dj's who don't produce their own music, just pre-mix their sets, and still getting paid lol.

Its pretty pathetic and made worse by the fact that the music is terrible. No soul, no emotion, no funk, and no groove.
The system rolls people out to DJ who have no idea what they are doing so it can capitalize off that hit track for the ten minutes ppl care.
Its honestly a caricature of what it should be. From the crowds and the bottle service system to the wretchedly generic electronic arena rock itself and everything in between, its both massively profitable and horrifically vapid.
