May 04th 2015
221
His punch output is inversely proportional to how good each of those
May 04th 2015

my point is I don't think the KO matters as it relates to Floyd
May 04th 2015

lotta money coming in on Manny these past few weeks, odds for Floyd dropped to -200, after opening at -285. Expected money on fight night to come in heavy on Floyd tho.

Seems like general sentiment here is that Floyd's gonna win... I'd be willing to take the other side if someone wants to put up odds... not as much as Vegas, but, say, -150?

is at an MGM Grand approved screening. Can't just watch it a bar/club or booking spot.

Wonder if there is any truth to this. That would suck for the folks who are forking over thousands to be in Vegas for the weekend.

this is true any time there's a PPV-tier event held at MGM (I watched Pac vs Cotto on closed circuit and this was the case then too).

There's a reason why they can command $150 for the closed circuit tickets.

This was a pretty good ep.

I said all along the only way Manny has a chance at beating floyd is by fighting in and out with his legs and coming in at different angles and moving out. If he were able to do that he could maybe out point floyd if he didnt get caught with one.

Too bad we havent seen good footwork Manny since probably the Cotto fight, if not before. The last several years Manny has turned into quick feet get in, try to use fast hands and stay in front of his opponent. he doesnt get in and out with his legs anymore. My guess is he cant do that anymore unless he's been playing Okie doke the last 5 years.

he's gotten older so it would obviously be harder, but it's possible he's seen that he can do other things and still win without exerting himself to that extent. Against Floyd, those "other things" aren't going to be successful. I hope Freddie has gotten him to understand that.

he was facing. I mean other than Cotto and Margarito, he may have done it for Oscar too, he wasnt really afraid of any power. In those fights he did the in and out because going into those fights he had to be more conscious of their power. Way bigger dudes. You could tell in those fights early on he would stand in front of them to feel what kind of power he was dealing with. Felt it. Did the in and out shit.

Fight

I re watched the Canelo fight
It's no way manny can hurt Floyd
If Canelo couldn't

Only way this is exciting is if Floyd looks as bad
As he did in maidana 2

I'm not excited

If manny can keep the pressure on him
And just stay on him and throw punches
Make this ugly he got a shot

But if this turns into a boxing match
It will be a massacre (which frankly was always gonna be the case)

The article was going to be about how (in my estimation) this is one of the top 3 biggest fights of all time, but I did have a number of pitfalls in the writing process when looking at the evidence and thorough reporting by deadspin (much of which I previously was unaware of) -
it just didn't feel right.

I also declined to attend the fight even though I was granted a credential.

I will be watching it, however.

I mean its huge and its still the biggest money fights ever, but I feel like it kind of snuck up on us.

The Mayweather/Pac post has less than 100 replies.

There wasnt a lot of promotion for it seemingly (maybe because they didnt have to since they knew it would sell).

Just seems kinda ehhh. Maybe the fatigue from all the years of anticipation.

the press and hype for this fight is bigger than any fight in over 30/40 years, and this will go down as one of the biggest 3 fights to ever have been made.

It will set records for viewership and ppv buys that may never be eclipsed again.

It's huge, it's historic, and it means everything to the respective legacies of both guys.

But somehow I feel this fight was made and just kinda snuck up. Maybe the lack of a big 24/7 build up. I dont know what it is. I just wonder what wouldve been different 4 years ago, could it have been bigger than this?

And if I were them I still wouldn't go....Whoever on Floyd's team thought this was the smart thing to do needs to get that side-eye....Shit is hilarious....Not a good look....

Washington Post

Updated with denial from PR firm representing Mayweather

So much for boxing’s effort to enter the modern world of big-time sports.

Less than 12 hours before his Fight of the Century with Manny Pacquiao, Floyd Mayweather has objected to the presence of two reporters assigned to cover the event. CNN’s Rachel Nichols and ESPN’s Michelle Beadle say that they have been blocked from covering the event by the fighter’s camp.

Promoters for the fighters control the event and can, presumably, decide who can and cannot cover it. And it probably isn’t a coincidence that Nichols and Beadle, unlike other reporters, have chosen not to let Mayweather’s past domestic violence incidents go unmentioned.

No fight for me or @MichelleDBeadle. Mayweather's team told my producer the camp was blocking my credential. https://t.co/JTjjXadPp8

— Rachel Nichols (@Rachel__Nichols) May 2, 2015

I, along with @Rachel__Nichols, have been banned from the MGM Grand Arena for the fight tonight by the Mayweather camp. #TheFightGame

— Michelle Beadle (@MichelleDBeadle) May 2, 2015

Kelly Swanson, whose public-relations represents Mayweather, denies the reporters’ contention that they have been banned.

No one including ME banned @Rachel__Nichols from covering the fight. She is already credentialed. #Facts

— Kelly Swanson (@kellyswanson1) May 2, 2015

And @MichelleDBeadle isn't even on the press list. She's credentialed through @HBOboxing. Yes credentialed. #Fact#2

— Kelly Swanson (@kellyswanson1) May 2, 2015

@BonnieBernstein yes that is what I am saying. They have credentials and still have them.

— Kelly Swanson (@kellyswanson1) May 2, 2015

Not long after, Bonnie Bernstein confirmed that her colleague had “just been cleared.”

HBO source confirms @MichelleDBeadle's credential has just been cleared for Mayweather fight. Not sure about @Rachel__Nichols

— Bonnie Bernstein (@BonnieBernstein) May 2, 2015

In an interview with Nichols, as with others since, Mayweather has reiterated that the incidents were a misunderstanding (even though he did jail time). Nichols had the audacity to suggest that women should boycott one of his pay-per-view fights last fall.

GOAT of his era......long live Prince.....God is alive....

If Pacman wins it's by landing a bomb in an early round and finishing him off, just don't think it will happen.

It's not a speed thing.

Canelo didn't look like himself either against Floyd. He's just that good.

How many casual fans paid $100 for a fight hyped to be one of the greatest in history, 6 years in the making, that now regret it and will think twice about fucking with boxing again in the future?

An epic fight would have won over so many new fans, this fight was a disappointment on more than one level.

If only GGG was more marketable...

then tune in only to the Superbowl (which happens to be a somewhat
boring game) - then declare that the "NFL sucks!"

Big media had unrealistic expectations, and shirk their duty to cover
the sport meaningfully. They don't even know who GGG is. He *is*
marketable. If his career was being covered by ESPN in line w/ the
other major sports he'd be a star, but you don't know about the kid
w/ the sharpest bars unless you actually put him on a record.

Everyone acted brand new last night. That fight is what basically everybody
in the sport thought it would be - the general public had unrealistic expectations
because they didn't know any better. And why would they? The sport isn't covered
seriously by major media.

for boxing. Had it been more exciting, it would have won over a lot of casual fans and gained more exposure from the mainstream media.

Now it's going to be that much harder to win new fans.

All of Floyd's fight are tactical counter-punching affairs, he's never gonna throw just to throw...so based on that, were you expecting something different this fight?

>I was cracking up. Basically saying FOH with that.

Manny showing up an hour after that fight and casually crying about an injury AND using it as an excuse for his fighting style down the stretch is lame as hell. That's some old 30 for 30 ten years later shit..and even then...kinda lame.

That and him saying 'I think I won the fight' with a smile that reeked of thinking of the $ and relaxing on the idea that Floyd is gonna soak up most most of the hate gave me a huge FOH feeling about him. He fucked over Max in the ring right after the fight. Max had to call him out on some old 'fool, you didn't win that fight and we all know it, homie'. And then he just went into 'I barely understand you' mode and got outta there. Lame.

But hey...boxing is boxing. Shady stuff is just a big part of the deal with those folks..hence the lack of popularity and trust. Give those cats an opportunity/spotlight and they'll find ways to try to make even the purest of boxing folks regret giving a fuck about the fight. At least we know pro wrestling is worked. And UFC? Shiid...folks show up and get their shit twisted up on a regular enough basis that folks can take it seriously.

Having written that, casual people who have a lack of understanding about competition/sports/athletics in general wanting a Rocky fight where everyone's just throwing haymakers were off the mark. And that's being nice about it. I get part of it...I wanted Pac to risk going down swinging a bit more. Halfway through the fight, he had so much momentum cuz he wasn't obviously losing by that time like most Floyd opponents are. Some folks had him up 4-2. Even Floyd Sr. was trippin. The $ was on the damn table. But then Manny proceeded to get walked down like most recent Floyd foes do from rounds 7-10 to put all of that hope to bed. And later on, he was too tired/unwilling to really go out for his.

As for Floyd, folks with sense knew his steez. AKA he's a counterattack boxer..'defensive' if you will. Knowing that, if you're Floyd...47-0 with 2-4 fights left, why in the hell would you play chicken with your career/legacy/everything by going out of your way to 'mix it up' or make it easy for Manny to walk up to you and spam combos on some old EA Fight Night shit? Cats who won't do max bets on $ 0.25 slots wanted Mayweather to stick 20 years of his life on the line by laying his chin out there or by being a sitting duck?

And for what!? So that drunk casual fans can feel like they 'got their $ worth' on a hyped up event that they got in on because it was the cool thing to do on a Saturday? Aren't lots of those the same folks who generally hate him because they heard about his woman stuff, he flaunts his money, and he generally plays a villain ON PURPOSE to make his in-ring style that much more upsetting for folks who tune in mainly to see him get hit? That's who he's supposed to take more risks for? Haha.

If you were a boxer and had the option of either getting hit and winning or not getting hit and winning, what would you choose? Easy answer.

It comes down to what you said about Floyd being the villain...he straight up said it on the SC post-interview last night..."it's the same as being an actor in a movie"...he knows all the money he spends to create his character is returned and then some when all these nitwits order another PPV hoping he gets knocked out lol.

he did do some running which I don't have a problem with per se because the object is to hit and not get hit but he never hurt Pac either so I'm not as impressed.

I call it a draw

Yeah he was faster and quicker and ran a lot, I don't think anyone could reasonably say that Pac won but I wouldn't call it a but whooping, Mayweather won on points, but didn't come close to hurting Pac. Pac was looking for a knock out but wasn't fast enough

and we'd be giving him flak for it. is Floyd a good fighter? sure. is he the best at not getting hit? sure. ducking and slipping punches and then counter punching is an absolute skill and every fighter should be able to do it, but i'm sorry, if that's all dude does it's just painful to watch. it's pretty much the equivalent to "lay and pray" in MMA. MMA purists will tell you that it takes a lot of skill to be able to take your guy down and control him on the ground, but it's utterly boring from a fan perspective.

yes i know Mayweather landed more punches, but the great majority of those punches are just jabs that are doing no real damage. he's just scoring points. good for him, he's working the system to his strengths. it's just boring fam.

Further, as a boxer, why would you put yourself in harm's way if you don't have to? He's the one who would have to live with those hits, not the people sitting there and throwing shade. That kind of thinking makes zero sense to me.

Just saying that what he did this weekend is not worthy of the hype or my $100, but if he can get over on the masses God bless him

My issue isn't him ducking, dodging and holding so much as he is content with just scoring points. The object of boxing is to hurt your opponent.

They might as well just had a slap boxing contest and score on who touched who the most.

You disagree?

You go to points,if you don't hurt them or knock them out

You get more points for power shots, knock downs and knock outs

That 81 equal to all of Manny's landed punches. If that's a measure of punishment, Floyd clearly wins.

To me, that's not as one-dimensional as trying to hurt your opponent. Mayweather isn't just tagging fighters, he's out-thinking guys in high pressure situations. His mental clarity and adaptation is his greatest strength (and we saw that take over after the 6th round).

It can be both ,but hurt them more than you get hurt and styles make fights

Mayweather was going to out box manny because he's faster, taller and has a longer reach.

Mannys best option was to try and hurt Mayweather but he couldn't. Mayweather neutralized manny with his jab and elusiveness and also by holding when manny tried to get close, so he was just content scoring point-smart of course , just not worthy of the hype.

Manny did not take a beating at all. i'm not saying Floyd has to stand there and get punched for it to be good. i'm not mad at him avoiding damage at all. he doesn't return any damage though. if he really beat Manny up, no one would be complaining. Manny looking just as fresh after the fight, just a little tired. and we supposed to believe that Floyd beat him? no one wants to see a guy just go for points in a fight. this ain't Olympic boxing? they not wearing headgear.

Floyd trying to return damage raises or lowers the chances of him getting hit? Him staying in the pocket longer in order to just hurt the other fighter opens himself up to more damage. He said it himself after the fight.

>Iff he really beat Manny up, no one would be

Like I said above, the point of boxing to me is to hit your opponent more than he hits you. Every objective measure (and hell, all subjective human measures) says Floyd dominated Manny. 118-110, 116-112, 116-112...that's 3-nil and doesn't even do justice to how Floyd dictated the fight. Floyd fights within the scoring of the sport, just because that doesn't fit into your paradigm doesn't make it any less of a thrashing. Floyd also landed 18 more power shots so it wasn't simply the jab tagging points.

But Floyd THREW more punches than Manny. He connected on more POWER shots than Manny connected on ALL PUNCHES

So the guy that threw more punches, and landed more power punches is the runner?

I'm not saying Floyd was running like he was scared. he didn't allow the other guy to hit him, good for Floyd. but once you got him off balance, off his game and tired why are you still just going for points? put him away. do we really need 12 whole rounds of Floyd "working"? we get it dude he can't touch you, now end this fight. he didn't even wear Pac down. he just tired him out making him chase. he had the fight won like by the 9th round (probably sooner) on points according to the judges. but Floyd would rather just sit there and keep showcasing how good he is at not getting hit than actually returning any real damage. those power punches and total punches did absolutely nothing to Pac.

fan.

Seeing two boxers slug it out is probably highly entertaining from a casual fan's perspective and not fulfilling from a purist that wants to see a good, technical fight.

Inside the ring, Floyd isn't for the casual fan. Doesn't make him any less of a boxer though.

listen, I get it. Floyd's technical skill is unmatched.

I equate it to baseball. small ball is a part of the game. drawing walks, getting on base, advancing the runner, stealing, bunting, sac flys, etc. however, even the most diehard purist baseball fan doesn't want to see that ALL THE TIME though. an entire season of doing that game after game would be grinding to watch no matter who you are. if you really love the game you want to see all aspects of it. let's see some homeruns, some extra base hits, guys getting hits with RISP. give us something.

supposed to win. If how they do it isn't entertaining, then its on the commission or the league to worry about. Like we are eventually gonna see happen in the NBA with the hack a "bad ft shooter".

In essence what you are doing is blaming Pop for using a boring but effective strategy and suggesting he should do something else. If you find floyd's fight boring, then it just may not be for you.

I've honestly never heard a fan of a winning team complain that the team's style is too boring. lol

That's like saying Popovich should switch things up because the Spurs are a "boring" team to watch, even though what he's been doing won him 5 titles

Or like saying a baseball team that gets on base, steals bases and just singles in runners should try hitting more HR's because that's more exciting.

It's insane how people are saying Floyd should have switched up what he was doing to entertain people while what he's been doing is what got him to now 48-0

But NOBODY is blaming Manny for not changing what he was doing when after the first couple of rounds people realized he can't hit Floyd

Not the people ringside, not those watching at home, not the media...none of them have to deal and live with those hits, only Floyd. Like I said above, if you ask ANY person if they were in the ring themselves and had the option of winning while getting hit or winning while not getting hit, 100% would take the latter option. Every one of them, yet they have the gall to throw stones at someone else for doing that very thing. Floyd has the ability to do that and does so, people just mad at Floyd himself and/or how it doesn't fit into some conventional paradigm of boxing.

I've used this same line of thought (with Pop and everything) to expose
the argument that Floyd is "boring." Of course, when people say Floyd
is "boring" - what they usually mean is "I hate him and wish he would die."

He makes people MAD. Part of it is because of warranted criticism on
his inter-personal failures and domestic abuse, but part of it is unwarranted
hate and sophomoric crying.

Anytime that Floyd whips said fighter, they weren't that great to begin with

And it's hilarious that anyone expected anything different from the fight. Cats were saying YEARS AGO when Manny was the white knight that he simply would not be able to hit Floyd.

Some people can't face the fact that Floyd beat all comers...most of them convincingly

vs Mayweather - 429(19%)

So if the fight was boring blame Manny for throwing 200 less punches than the average of his last 3 fights..

Everybody on my damn Fb timeline been on that lolz u mad
95% of this thread is pro mw yet every other reply is u mad lolz
So who exactly is mad?

I don't think Anyone is being unreasonable to have expected a better fight
Esp at 100 dollars and 5 years of hype

I also don't think it's hating to acknowledge
It was a hard watch
Cause it was
And that's ok

Me personally I knew this would happen
Esp after I went back and watched the Saul and Marquez fights
So I already had my expectations lowered all the way down

All this plea copping about the "brilliance" and accusations of one
"Not knowing boxing" etc then why the fuck riggondeux ain't a superstar?

Just be honest
And stop lying

Is Floyd great? Sure
Was that a unentertaining fight? Sure

Dude regularly watches Money, so he knows exactly what he was getting. And I mentioned that I saw essentially the "preview" for this fight with y'all. Same shit. Heralded Filipino dude who mixes it up gets totally stymied by a better boxer, and looks like a shell throughout. And the fans get mad watching the boxer who does it right.

I'm not mad.... Manny stans are mad because the "fight" was boring. However, what they're really saying is Manny threw was less punches than normal because of that counter right fuckin Manny up.

So if they want to be mad about a boring fight then be mad at Pac for refusing to throw punches.

Since then he has been more measured which in some cases has made him looked new and improved. But that's when he was fighting freakin Algieri

Even die hard Manny stans were worried there was no way he would beat Floyd without his old punch output.

Pacquiao's last 3 fights
=====================================

v Rios - 790 punches (36%)
vs Bradley(2) - 563 (25%)
vs Algieri - 669 (34%)

vs Mayweather - 429(19%)

So given the MAJOR reduction of punches in this fight vs the last 3 why are convinced that he punch count would have been significantly higher if they fought before the KO? - lol

Maybe, just maybe, it was the Mayweather factor..

Mayweather pumping that right hand straight from the beginning in the first round without even setting it up with the jab was masterful stuff. Dude showed no fear of getting countered.

dump on the fight right after still surprises me, given that I'm sure he's more knowledgeable on boxing than all the folks in this thread combined. Surprised that someone with all the insight he has couldn't appreciate the fight, muchless up close. Did he have beef with Mayweather prior to the recent GOAT comments?

Since Mike Tyson, who I love and admire, has been reduced
to cameos and cartoons and shitty Broadway shows because
his money was stolen by promoters

Floyd has built wealth for all of his offspring, and
their offspring, and theirs, all before his 40th Birthday
and all because of his wits, and savvy

And because he had the courage to do things Mike wouldn't

it's not even about "trolling Manny stans", a lot of it was as predictable as the fight was going to be (if you know even a little bit about the history of both fighters)...

but for example, Michelle Beadle mad at Triple H because he tweeted in a congratulatory manner toward Floyd.

yes, she mad at *Triple H*.

probably loved the outcome of Wrestlemania XIX though.

that shit is fucking hilarious to me.

i mean, theres the point that boxers don't train 1/10th of the stuff that fighters train, so they're FAR less susceptible to injury.
but yes, the fights actually happen generally.
MMA's "fight of the century" would change 3 times with injury replacements after it was announced.

and I'd argue sparring in boxing can be very dangerous given the high possibility for concussions from knock outs, but boxing training is much much less dangerous than MMA training.

A large chunk of Floyd hate is racial. That's not really
debatable.

It's also about him being a terrible person. I think a lot
of people have latched onto the the terrible person part to
justify their existing hate.

I don't really care.

Floyd is a bad person.

Floyd embarrassed Manny Pacquiao.

Everyone needs a hug.

Given that Floyd has played the troll to get folks to purchase tickets and PPV to see him lose, folks here really shouldn't be too surprised at how upset folks are after Saturday night. That coupled with the animus people are bring to the table because folks view Mayweather in a negative light because of his personal life, it shouldn't be a surprise at the negative response to Floyd is getting after Saturday's fight.

Of course, there are other aspects to factor in to as well, especially a ton of racial biases that are ingrained in this country from day one.

I can't recall the recent fight where it wasn't as clear. Not even nearly the amount of tears over that one.

but people are seriously mad because he was "hugging" and "running" from his opponent

you don't have to be a boxing NERD to know that's the fucking point. boxing is at its core, one of the most visceral mind games there is. that's what makes it cool. and then you have all the subtext and subtleties that USED to be when this was more of a mainstream thing...

In response to Reply # 230

is that Floyd actively plays a small role in the negative attention he gets since gets people to dislike him for hype and PPV buys, at least in the past. Is that the sole reason folks are upset after Saturday's match? No, but at the same time, it's partly his fault why folks don't see the skill involved in what he does.

Ultimately, I don't think he cares since he's a businessman at the end of the day and not a politician or someone else whose livelihood hinges on folks viewing him in a positive light.

Unlikeable guy is disliked, even when he's great at his
job.

That is your point.

We know that.

That doesn't make the dumb nature of the dislike any smarter.

If everyone who is sad right now simply said "Yeah, I'm
mostly mad because he's not likeable" then we wouldn't be
having a conversation now.

We're talking about it because people are confusing their
dislike of him for an actual boxing opinion. That is dumb.

But I agree with your greater point.... he embraced the heel persona during the De La Hoya promotion and that's been an effective marketing scheme for him ever since. If he presented himself as a humble dude with this boxing skill set, we'd be wondering why he doesn't draw or get the biggest fights. His style is not exciting to the average fan so a large part of his drawing power is the prospect of him being beat.

I respect his brilliance and have been a fan of him since the De La Hoya fight but people saying his fights are boring is fair criticism. I've skipped several of his fights over the last couple years because I knew I'm generally not satisfied watching his fights.

...as it would have been 5-6 years ago.

As has been said many times in this thread, it's Manny's "fault" that he got his ass-kicked, and Mayweather deserves all the credit for putting him on the short yellow bus and taking him to school. I'm not even a boxing nerd like that, and I can appreciate what Floyd did during the match. He boxed to win and did so. Props. Manny couldn't figure him out and he lost, that's on him.

Now, as to why this fight didn't happen 5 years ago, well... I'm putting that on Floyd. Payday-wise, it certainly worked out for both him and Manny better this way, so I at least understand. And we never get the "Match of the Century" whenever we SHOULD get it.

"since he waited FIVE YEARS before he'd fight Manny" as if Floyd was singlehandedly holding back that fight. He is not blameless, but he sure as FUCK wasn't the only one holding that shit back.
Motherfuckers literally were shaking off all MENTION of PEDS despite the manner in which an older Manny became bigger faster stronger and was knocking people the fuck out like Mighty Mouse.

The most important next fight, as far as public opinion goes, is Manny's next bout, not Floyd's. No matter what Floyd does, it'll be undercredited or understated. If Manny looks really good in his next bout, Floyd MAY get some respect for making him look like he did on Saturday.

He conceded on everything except the USADA blood testing. That was the ONE hold-up in that negotiation...but nope, it's all Floyd's fault lol. If there's someone to really pinpoint in all of this, it's Bob Arum. His ego and beef with Floyd knows no bounds and that was the ingredient which soured everything else.

Person A and Person B are negotiating and everything is going smoothly. If, at the 11th hour, right before the contract is finalized, Person B comes in and says, "Well, now add this one thing or else the deal is off," then Person A should walk away. Because either a) Person B is going to keep adding stipulations at the last moment to give himself/herself a more favorable deal than they originally negotiated in first 11 hours or b) Person B never intended to make the deal in the first place, and were always just looking for an excuse.

Agreed, Arum was and is a slime. But five years ago dealing with Manny meant dealing with Arum. So Floyd waited long enough that he didn't deal with Arum anymore, which meant he waited long enough for Manny to be a lot more beatable. He made more money in the process, but he has to deal with the "He waited too long talk." And, considering how much money Floyd is going to make, I doubt he really cares about the talk.

The first rule is to have it be a cooperative negotiation...that was obviously never going to happen because of the Arum, Floyd beef. In terms of last minute things, that completely depends on what is wanted. Is that concession enough to warrant walking out? Or if you have every major concession you want, can you swallow your pride on not getting the "last word" and realize you still came out on top? I've seen that ego ruin so many negotiations, even though that person or company was coming out with everything they wanted.

Anyways, was the Floyd testing stipulation at the last minute? Honest question...and if I remember correctly, the issue was that Manny-Arum wouldn't agree to random testing without any kind of time gap (they were asking for no testing 3 weeks prior to the fight, which basically defeats the purpose of random drug testing).

...with Arum. Okay, fine, Arum's a slime. But expecting Manny to not work with Arum five years ago was not going to happen.

Truthfully, I don't even believe Floyd REALLY thought Manny was on steroids. Floyd latched onto it after Roger Mayweather made the accusation after Manny knocked out Hatton. It was at the height of the steroid frenzy and it was a good PR club to whack Manny with and give him some of the moral high-ground.

If I'm not mistaken (and if I am, let me know), this fight used the USADA-style testing that Manny wanted to use five years ago, but Floyd balked at, wanting to use Olympic-style testing instead. If so, it makes the stuff five years ago really look like a PR-stunt.

With no emotions and knowing the outcome and seemed more like a mastery display by Mayweather. There were times he was right there in front of Manny and Manny looked dumbfounded and timid to come in. Especially when he ate a couple lead rights.

So Floyd just texted his weed carrier Stephen A. Said he was down for a rematch a year from now because of the MRI news about Manny's shoulder...

One thing for sure. They can't charge fools 100 bucks a pop anymore.
