miz/mizdow vs usos probably should've been the curtain-jerker.

held my nose and re-subscribed to the network. imagine if this shit was still $50-60 a PPV.

It's gotta be a heel team and options are slim. I guess Gold and Stardust are technically still heels? But we've seen that before and who knows what they're doing with those two. The Ascension still feel too new, and jumping from jobbers to the New Age Outlaws to a title match would be a bit fast. But I guess they could be interesting. I'm loving the Kidd and Cesaro team, though. I think them and the Usos would have some killer matches.

I didnt like them pairing Cesaro with Kidd at first because I think Kidd is such a weirdo (at least how they show him on Total Divas), but they have good ring chemistry and WWE needs some good tag teams.....

Ah, I've never watched Total Divas, and I only really got back into wrestling in the last few years. So I really only know Kidd from his recent NXT stuff, which has been great. And Cesaro's one of my favorites right now. And, yeah, they definitely work well together. I hope it's them up next for the belts.

Maybe...If they just let him do it and he doesn't end up as the bad stuff that Shawn is/was. He's already throwing his body around something crazy. He's crazy physical. It's jarring..and I've watched a gang of wrestling. But he's so obviously better in the air than say...the usos barely making it on dives. His move set is $ too. He's a go as long as wwe takes care of him.

Oh and he's a heel forreal in the right way so that works too.

>Morgan Freeman,

He had a questionable match in a big spot with Orton, he's butchered at least a few promos, and wwe let his mania push to Brock become public too early. And they knew it.

And Brock's run has been 2 grand matches but bad otherwise../outside of a couple raws. And folks have all but begged them to moonwalk out of Reigns thing for now. And they know it. But they haven't. And the crowd has flat out named their other options for them with their reactions. And they are noselling the information so far. The way they did the rumble match proves that they have the info. So, folks are gonna be booing even if the Rock is there every week until mania to try to help save it. Rock is gonna end up looking like Hogan when he would do the 'savage is my buddy' thing.

the rumble is basically for the fans to say this is who we like.

and the fans gave them cesaro, ziggler, bryan, ambrose and bray (hell even mizdow). they have given them that for months on end. fucking make them the center of attention please along with rollins.

they have plenty of people fans like now, that would give the wwe enough time to let reigns grow into someone they actually like. i hope it doesn't take vince dying for them to fix the product but that seems like the case.

Reigns is getting murdered out there. They have 2 months to build a great set of lies but he can't talk well enough to help them...and Brock is an snk boss..rough draw for the wwe on making Reigns a believable winner.

Add in that folks flat out don't want reigns and they are looking at having to do the Rollins cash-in either the night of mania or the raw after.

They didn't even put up a fight. Dumped out while looking dead to the world. And worst of all, it was by two guys who nobody has cared about for at least 10 years.

It seemed spiteful on WWE's part. Making the few guys the fans actually like, and that have gotten over look like bitches.

WWE Kreative™ has fucked him six ways from Sunday. They probably are about to pull that dumb Bautista shit from last year and turn Reigns heel, which is, as I said, dumb.

This shit is bigger than "Vince is seriously out of touch and needs to stop booking." This is "WWE's entire booking philosophy needs a complete AND PERMANENT overhaul, starting with killing off the idea that the only valuable big time stars are guys who can 'turn heads in airports.'"

Word on the street is that they're looking for writers. God help you if you apply, get in, and try to change this shit around from the inside.

Now,I don't pay attention to the product as much as I used to. But has he had one memorable solo feud?

I recall some stuff with the Big Show and that's it. He seems to have gotten pops from showing off his big moves in tag matches here and there.

So far, he just comes across as Robot Reigns to me.

Don't know if it is the scripted promos or if he needs to get more comfortable. He could use a mouthpiece.

Does anybody know how he was on the mic in NXT?

Damn. Dan Patrick's flunkies just included the Rumble in their "Worst of the Weekend".

A lot of people in the business think it's just the writing (Vince is allegedly writing all his promos, which would explain a lot). He's supposedly a naturally charismatic guy. I'm not entirely convinced of that, but they don't give him a lot to work with.

So they knew Reigns was going to get booed to hell right? Look at all the steps they took to try to stop a riot.

Bryan comes in and is eliminated early and unceremoniously...this was in hopes the fans would forget about him by the end which they kind of did, it would have been way worse if he was out last.

The final 3 (we thought) was Big Show Kane and Reigns, 3 wrestlers the smarks don't want to see win, "but at least they probably like Reigns the most in terms of a WM main event right?"-The writers...this didn't work for them, but I see what they tried to do

The Rock will come in for the save people will cheer right?

Ok, final attempt, the fans hate Rusev he is the ultimate anti USA heel, Reigns will have to get cheered for throwing him out right?

Basically they tried really hard to put Reigns in a spot that people would cheer him, what they underestimated was how much a PPV crowd especially wanted to see anything but Reigns win.

I imagine HHH & Stephanie will be very anti-Reigns from hereon out, plus I can see Ambrose being drafted in to help Reigns get through the weekly beat downs from Kane and Show which should make him more open to regaining some crowd affection. Actually, maybe even team him up with Bryan in the interim?

The worst thing is that they really, really, really can't repeat last year of having to turn Reigns heel and adding Bryan/Ziggler/Ambrose into the main event as that would be I think embarrassing all-round.

I do actually think the Reigns & Brock match will be very good though.

Just curious, I think anything with Brock in it is good, but I have not enjoyed a single Roman Reigns solo match. Only one I like maybe was him vs Rollins, and we know why that one was good. Hell, his match with Randy Orton at SS was trash, and he doesn't do underdog well, so why put him with Brock?

I thought Reigns v Orton wasn't bad at all.

Hard to put my finger on why I think Reigns/Lesnar would be good - with their styles, I would just anticipate a fairly fast-paced and high-impact match. Just think it has potential is all.

I know I’m a broken record with this but they need to cast Brock more like Clubber Lang than a mere Conqueror. He has to beat the living hell out of Reigns (preferably tonight) and do so in truly evil fashion. Rock would play Apollo’s role, obviously.

Reigns kind of needs to grapple with his confidence and question if he can really do this, because this is the first true monster he’s ever faced. Problem is, he doesn’t exactly give cause for confidence in pulling out such range.

Part of the issue here is that they’ve slowly written Brock into something to admire based on his work with Rollins (Yup… Edge 2.0) and after him basically rising from the dead last night to beat Rollins and Cena, he’s going to get a hero’s welcome from here on out unless he starts acting like a dastardly bastard instead of a guy who’s just dominant instead of evil.

The fucked Reigns even more by letting Uncle Rock come out for the save, especially since that connection hasn’t really been teased. He’d have been better off overcoming the odds on his own. Vince probably thought Rock would give him that rub but it came across so cheap it backfired.

I dunno what the fuck to do with his promos either because he really shit the bed in the backstage segment afterwards. I like him but they’ve completely neutered him. I’d still hire him to babysit before I’d call him to help me in a fight.

They need to make him more sympathetic and make Brock much more evil for this to work, and even then it’s a tall order.

I cracked up too. I loved it. But my absolute favorite thing is when they play up getting "exclusive" interviews with people. Like, really, you somehow beat out Woj and Deadspin by getting this Nattie interview, or some shit? Whenever they sneak in some "real" sports kind of stuff, I'm all for it.

Like, incompetent weird. I mean, Bryan's still as over as anyone has been in the last decade. So if you don't want him to win the thing, why not leave him in there until the very last, then have a heel cheat to eliminate him? Great heat for the heel, Bryan stays strong, sets up a feud...it's Booking fucking 101. But instead they waste him, and throw away money in the process. Why?

And that's Reigns going over. You could bring back 1985 Roddy Piper to eliminate Daniel Bryan, but guess what? Bryan's still not winning, and Reigns is still getting booed out of the building.

If thy weren't going to have him win, then they shouldn't have put Daniel Bryan in the match in the first place. They knew this would happen; that's why The Rock was there to mitigate the damage, and that's also why they eliminated Bryan early on, with the thinking being that by the time they got to the end of the match, that the crowd would have been so easily distracted by everything else that they would have forgotten about Daniel Bryan losing.

Shit's dumb all around.

The fact that they knew fans would go crazy over Bryan being eliminated so they wrote him out early, they brought Rock in for the co-sign, they engineered the final 4 so Roman wouldn't upset fans of either of those wrestlers, they bring HHH & Steph out for the stare down from the ramp... it's a huge amount of thought and consideration to address the fact that they KNEW people would react the way they did. It begs the question: if they knew fans would be passionate about the outcome they wanted, why pursue it?

Also, no way could they leave Bryan out seeing as what happened last year.

The backlash against Reigns is simply because he isn't that over. Bryan is 1000x more over. Ziggler is 100x more over. Wyatt is 50x more over. Ambrose is 50x more over. Goddamn Bubba Ray is 50x more over. Rusev is arguably more over. After last night, Curtis Axel may well be more over.

The backlash not might be as bad if they gave these guys meaningful storylines/feuds that were not driven into the ground. They don't all have to be in the main event, but they mostly ain't got shit to do.

How many times did we need to see Wyatt/Ambrose in hardcore type matches within a month? Did the Ziggler/Harper feud amount to anything since the IC title ain't shit?

This Cesaro-Kidd pairing looks decent but it won't go anywhere. Even the New Day deserves better than what they are getting.

It will never happen, but they need to go back to some form of the brand split, and kill the formula that guys in a feud need to interact in some way on every single show.

In response to Reply # 71

Have Reigns and Bryan (and Ambrose and Ziggler) surrounded by heels. Reigns helps save Bryan from certain elimination once or twice. I mean, they had already teased segments with those two working together against the Authority. They could have built that so much better, and it would have actually worked, unlike having Rocky come out to make the save.

It seemed like they had no idea how to set the rhythm of the Rumble. They completely rushed through all of the "pop" segments (DDP, the Wyatt Family Reunion, the annual Rhodes Boys donnybrook, Mizdow). Rusev coming back was an afterthought when they could have made it a moment of drama. It was just a weird, weird match.

Your "top" babyface needs Rock? The shine in a save like that goes to guy who made the save, not the guy who required saving. The guy who couldn't defend himself looks weak in that scenario. Why did they want to make Reigns look weak?

In fact, keeping Bryan in would have made things WORSE, because at that point, you're just super-trolling the fans and getting their hopes up by making them think that maybe Kreative has changed its mind and will have Bryan win.

And having Reigns save Bryan from beatdowns would have made things WORSE as well. You really think that crowd would have just gone along with seeing Superhero Reigns rescue their favorite? Especially in a match that's billed as "Every man for himself?" No, they would have sniffed that out as an obvious tactic to try and get Reigns over.

We can sit up and debate the logistics all day. It. Wouldn't. Have. Mattered. It wouldn't have mattered if he was #1 or #30, that crowd was booing anyone not named Daniel Bryan if they were winning that match. And yes, that includes Ziggler and Ambrose.

If the move looked remotely dangerous, cool, or even slightly damaging, that is.

On one hand, I had an OH SHIT!!! reaction because it’s Brock taking three straight finishers (ok, two no-sells, technically) from Cena like nothing. On the other? The move is wack as fuck.

If he no-sells three straight Superman Punches, RKO’s/Diamond Cutters, Shell Shocks, Curb Stomps, Sister Abigails, Pedigrees, GTS’s, Clotheslines From Hell, WMD’s, Choke Slams, Stunners, Rock Bottoms, Super Kicks, Zig Zags, Famousers, or any other Finisher That Actually Looks Like It Hurts (like a *real* Death Valley Driver and not the badly bastardized version Cena adapted it into), it would have truly been a mark out moment for the ages that would have further cemented (as if he needs it) Brock as the all-time King Of Monsters.

Cena originally added that "safe for WWE" DVD (it was closer to Godfather's "Pimpdrop") when he was aiming at Brock, and they even called it a Death Valley Driver when he first started doing it.

Then in a promo, he called it the "F-U" (in response to the "F5")

the F-U had many different forms, my favorite (and the one he should have kept) was basically what in the GameCube wrestling video games is called a "Yebisu Drop": a sitout Michinoku-style driver from fireman's carry. I figured that would be OK to do in WWE, but that's not a finisher Cena can do on everyone (like the Big Show for example).

Overtime, Cena's F-U morphed into a basic Fireman's Carry dump, the current Attitude Adjustment. Which I guess you can do to everyone, but looks like crap. I was hoping at least he'd take to locking on a reverse 3/4 facelock so it would end as a "reverse" DDT or something. At least it would look cool that way.

Besides, when they had CM Punk doin that damn GTS to "hosses" (because the Anaconda Vice (Pause) was de-emphasized), I felt like Cena had an excuse to return to the GOAT F-U.

Yes, I'm mad. Let's move on.

would you want to take away the first guy in a LONG time
who truly has REAL HEAT though?

Rollins is INCREDIBLE as the top heel.

Look at Bray, he's supposed to be a heel yet gets
the "firefly cellphones" and a decent size pop whenever he comes out.

Rollins gets booed, and booed bad.

His timing and presence on the mic, his in ring work is top notch,
he's a KILLER with the high flying spots, takes an extraordinary
amount of punishment.
The smart crowd cheers him after he does a spectacular move
or when in the middle of a run of dope spots,
but even the smart crowd boos that man even though inside
they absolutely love him... ...THAT'S REAL HEAT...

Why would you want to just strip away all of that?

No offense, but that's a horrible idea imo.

I'd really like WWE to look at this as a challenge and have to think to themselves how they can book/write this so that they win the crowd over for Reigns. I actually think they can do it - there's lots of different angles and ways to play this out but no telling right now which way will be the best one.

Having the Raw they did helped a little and I'm very curious to see if they can write themselves out of the corner they're currently in. Smackdown tonight will be compulsory watching.

Brock's new "I don't respect anyone. Ever." tag line is going to help get him back to being hated, unless all these people are true assholes.

Reigns telling Brock that "if I can't beat you, I'm going to take a piece of you with me." was pitch perfect,

Reigns did a nice job all around tonight, and that last exchange between him and Brock was gold.

Brock: Unlike him, (Heyman) I don't respect you.
Reigns: You will.

Granted nobody will look good after Heyman and Heyman did an AMAZING job of selling the match and the history, but just everytime I hear Reigns speak I fall asleep.

You don't have to be a great speaker, hell Lesnar is one of the worst, but Lesnar is a once in a lifetime wrestler. Reigns as still not proven that he is not the latest flavor of the month good looking tall guy that WWE is convinced will be the future.

He's getting an opportunity and at the end it's all about what he does with the opportunity.

What annoys me about many fans on this is that literally everyone is handpicked for their spot. They just have to earn the right to keep it.

RIGHT. But when the fans want something and tell you in no uncertain terms, you have a choice on how you're going to deal with not giving it to them. And WWE is having a pissing contest with their audience right now...it is a tough go when you're trying to sell something.

At least now, Paul will do 85% of the talking while Brock and Reigns try to drop profound one-liners. That's where Reigns has the best shot now that they've tried to 'reset' him as a human being and not just 'the next WWE it guy'. I just can't see RR winning without shenanigans of some kind. Brock is an SNK boss. Or a RPG boss where no one has the right weapon or spell. AKA dude losing a one-on-one match seems like a huge lie to tell for RR this soon.

Still, if they don't have DB get hurt again by Kane this Thursday in a casket match (*Scott Hall spooky hands*), they have to do SOMETHING with him. And folks are going in on pulling for a Ziggler/DB steal the show match at Mania. Who knows what WWE will do with the info they obviously have.

Between PWTorch, Solomonster, Straight Shoot, and more recently, Wrestling Soup, I’ve grown to kind of loathe wrestling fans and I’m damn near ready to hate Bryan because of it***

Well not really but you get my drift. The RR hate is overboard and the crying I hear about Bryan is nauseating at this point. To me, all that needs to be said is this:

Bryan is STILL white hot. WWE is just plain fucking stupid for not squeezing every last drop of that mojo while it’s there.

Reigns should be given another year to bubble and gain experience. Who knows, he could have been ready by Summer Slam.

Now, what’s done is done. The fans shitting on Reigns isn’t the way to go. WWE is screwing him by putting him in this position, and to me he deserves a fair shake at proving that Vince made a wise choice.

Far as the podcasts… Sitterson has interesting guests, but holy shit his name should be Marky Mark. Mark Mark Mark Mark Mark. I know, I’m a mark, you’re a mark, that’s what makes it fun. THAT dude is a Mark in the worst possible sense though. He just loves everything WWE does all the time and anything they do that’s shitty results in YOU’RE BEING WORKED BRO!

Wrestling Soup? Fart noise. Opey & Anthony for wrestling.

Solomonster is a fucking boss though, and the Keller has me wishing I’d signed up years ago. Both of them are great, but man the fans are insufferable.

WWE is fucking awful, Vince is out of touch, and you’re dead on about the way they promote this WWE Universe thing, but they’re still the lesser of two heels between themselves and the fans to me right now.

I dig seeing Ambrose and Reigns team up though.

Any reunion of The Shield should happen like two years from now at the earliest IMO, and would need to have a massive threat to work.

Fuck I got chills just thinking about it. Don’t judge me lol. For real though, those guys were on some Voltron shit.

Ha, same. It does feel too soon for that. Shit, I still want those three dudes to feud and give us at least one amazing triple threat match before we start thinking about reuniting.

Leave it to Heyman to make chicken salad out of chicken shit.

And you know what? They would've tried a similar angle in front of a crowd, and a crowd would've heckled them the entire time, and Heyman would've been louder, and Brock would've been pacing, and Roman would've been trying to play it cool while likely being obviously perturbed...

But in this controlled environment it was nuanced and it was good.

It was good!

What more is there to say? Heyman took it all the way back to the family, Brock told him to his face he doesn't respect him. It WORKED. Now they've got two months to get us behind Reigns. Maybe they actually pull it off.

Bryan should be in the title picture, but he isn't. I'd prefer something with Rollins or Ziggler overall, but Sheamus will make for a damn good match at a minimum. I think people forget how good a worker he is due to his shitty character direction.

Bryan might be the key to reawakening Sheamus as a top tier heel and frankly, that's a good thing. I'd still rather see Bryan and Brock, but it is what it is.

He puts on good to very good matches with great consistency. He's pretty much exactly what you want a big man to be in the ring. and his move set among the most polished and unique in the entire company.

I think your dislike for the character is preventing you from noticing the worker, who's damn good.

Hes great at just hossing up, beating the dogmess out of people, and taking a beating. The asset of him being as pale as he is, is that when he's up against a Mark Henry or Big Show, he gets super welted up and looks like a boss for taking that much punishment and still fighting back.

Wrestlemania history aside, Sheamus is actually the best opponent FOR D-Bry, because they both go full speed and make their strikes look awesome.

They just have ideal big man/little man chemistry. It’s hard to replicate that shit. The only other guy I’d rather see in the ring with either guy is Cesaro.

If they can give it a big match feel and the proper time and story, I’m all for it as it can be a great launching pad for both back into the main event picture.

In response to Reply # 0

so I'm glad he isn't in the title picture (yet) at least.

Only way I'd like him in the title picture would be truly
predicated on who he would be going up against.
IE him and Rollins?? I'm there for that 10x outta 10.

If they wanna do a Bryan / Ziggler IC match at WM, I'm there for that too.

But as long as BROCK has the belt, no way do I want Bryan
in the picture. I really don't know who I want facing Brock.
All I know is I don't care what kinda pop Bryan has.
Brock is so effing dominant and I know wrestling is fake
but Brock is so good he makes me believe that there isn't currently
anyone in the entire company that could beat him fair and square
one on one.

They've really handled Brock PERFECTLY. Who woulda thought
Vince would let the WWE Champion not be on tv EVERY FUCKING WEEK!

Paul's love for MMA has done wonders for bringing ideas to the table,
saying "Hey Vince, you know this will absolutely work right? Just
lemme do my thing, I'll make Brock a star villain without him
having to wrestle every week, it will give the fans MORE excitement
for when he DOES show up and it's his turn to fight, his burning
white hot star WILL FUCKING EXPLODE with his in ring performances."

It's worked masterfully since Brock beat the streak at WM30.
Here we are a year later, he's got the WWE title, he's held it
for months and it doesn't look like anyone can beat him.
And no one should. Unless he is leaving soon, that would be a travesty. I know Rollins has to cash in a years time so I know
Brock will have to give it up soon.

I'd hate to see Reigns beat Brock at WM, what a shitty way to treat
Brock who has SLAYED for the company this past year.

But!! if Rollins cashed in on Monday night following WM beating
Reigns after he's been brutally beaten by Brock looking for revenge
after losing his belt I'd be cool with that.

It'd be a HARD reset.

I'd be cool with Rollins getting the belt right then and there and moving forward without Brock as title holder though I'd be bummed...
anything to keep the belt off 3 moves Reigns.

the situation couldn't be any better from a drama standpoint.

on one hand, you have the first legitimately scary squash machine since, shit, goldberg in his wcw prime, maybe? Maybe it's better than that? he's already bucked expectations and absolutely destroyed two guys (taker and cena) in ways we all thought were impossible. no matter what lesner's contract status, you can't assume he's not going over in any situation.

on the other, you have the classic underdog who has a history of the company holding him back, even if that's clearly no longer true. why not work an angle on that? why not put vince, hunter, everyone on Team Brock, cut a lot of promos that talk about how he doesn't have the physique or mainstream appeal, etc?

bryan's legitimately terrifying injury could be worked into the angle beautifully. vince and them could express obviously phony concern for bryan's health, then put him in 2 on 1, 3 on 1, ladder and tables matches (if he can even do those post injury) in an attempt to knock him out? then, right before mania, put him in some type of match with brock on raw (if he deigns to show up) where brock goes to town on him, tries to injure him, etc. given everything, it would add pure terror to the match for every mark and a dose of terror to anyone who has any pure mark left in them, which is everyone.

that total package would have the most hype going into a Mania in recent memory. and again, i haven't watched more than 5 minutes of a raw or ppv in 5, 10 years. if i get this, why don't they?

Vince is delusional. He no longer has his finger on the pulse of the people and his idea of what constitutes "entertainment" is bad comedy.

Cesaro X for example, is a guy people would accept as Brocks opponent and he's had zero build. Vince says he doesn't connect with the crowd, but what he's really saying is that he doesn't have any big money catch phrases. The fans love love love that dude. They could flip that proverbial switch with him and he'd be hot as fish grease tomorrow and they'd eventually find his marketing hook.

Far as Bryan, Vince just flat out doesn't like guys who aren't jacked to the gills. He still wants meat heads on top. HBK and Brett lucked out due to the steroid scandal and Bryan lucked into a series of unfortunate events last year (quite literally) that both made him and ended him, but they never wanted to push him. They just wanted to spare themselves a Wrestlemania riot.

You see it because you're not. A delusional, senile, out of touch control freak who measures success by Nielson quarter hours trying to have his cake and eat it too- I.e, 'respectability' with a pg rating and pg sponsors using the meatiest meat heads he can find. Meanwhile, Bryan is the perfect guy to build a PG show around. He's marketable as fuck with storytelling that writes itself. You see it because you recognize that the crowd has spoken. Vince doesn't because he still thinks he knows what we want better than we do, and since he's the only show in town at this level, we're all hostage to it.

version of what Vince is looking for. He's legitimately the strongest guy in the E-- dude can deadlift Big Show for fun. He can monster blown spots into what they're supposed to be. People would pop their brains out for a regular sight of the swing/Swiss Death (the pop-up Euro Uppercut).

He could legitimately be what Vince was trying to do with Mason "Show Muscles" Ryan and Ryback's first run.

Not to mention the fact that we still haven’t gotten Sheamus or Orton. What’s fucked is that Brock returned in a great era for big men (work wise, lord knows I’m not talking about presentation and marketing here) and at this point we coulda/shoulda seen at least SOME of the following matches for Brock:

-Sheamus . My favorite for this. Holy shit at the physicality on that one. Seriously, that would be a match where we’d all wonder *how* hurt they were, not *if* they got hurt. That’s easy the most physical, brutal match I can envision in WWE and we wouldn’t need tables, ladders, or chairs to get it. That’s a Hoss end-all, be-all. Sorry Brooklyn, Sheamus really is that good. Yeah, the character is corny as fuck but dude can flat out go.

-Cesaro. Arguably less physical then Sheamus but the visual display of power and atheleticism that could have been achieved here would have been among the most memorable things in WWE….. perhaps ever. I’m not exaggerating. The swing, those uppercuts, the swing into the barricades, THOSE UPPERCUTS, the suplexes, I mean seriously… what other match in WWE history can fuck with that combination of power and athleticism with two A+ workers? It’s like the Hoss equivalent of, say, Eddie Vs HBK in their prime.

-Barret, the Bare Knuckle Brawler! HELLO, VINCE!!! The motherfucker is a legit boxer! Brock’s MMA weakness was the stand up game! HOW THE FUCK do they not capitalize on that? Barret’s leaner than most of the other big men they have but he’s shown he can go toe to toe with anyone. Play up Barret’s standup, add some realism to this shit, and Brock wins the same way he won in UFC- overpowering people, pinning them to the ground, and beating the shit out of their face.

-Orton. Yes, Orton. Back when Paul was telling Cena he’d have to go to the dark side to have a chance at beating Brock, all I could think was that this was the perfect setup to use Orton for Brock’s next match. Orton gives not a fuck about a soul in the WWE and he could ‘hear voices’ all through that match and make God bleed. Orton would have regained every ounce of his God Level heel stature and then some in that match.

Seriously. The stories that could have been told with these guys would have been off the charts. I know, Brock works limited dates. Solution? DON’T’ GIVE US 3 MATCHES WITH HUNTER AND 3 MATCHES WITH CENA! Also, Bray should have had last year’s match with Taker anyways. You ‘do the honors’ for a guy who needs to be made, not for a guy who’s been made twice over. At least two of the aforementioned matches could have seamlessly replaced two of the Cena, Hunter, and/or Taker matches. Literally all would have been better, except for the triple threat at Rumble which stands tall on its own. This title reign would be much better if Brock mowed through a few more of these guys in the process.

Dude I honestly haven't watched consistently since Rollins turned on the Shield. It's the worst it's ever been.

>Dude I honestly haven't watched consistently since Rollins

There's been some brutal times. No Hogan vs Flair in WWF '92 on a major show is a crime against humanity. Hogan's WWF involvement was terrible in basically Manias 7 through 9.

And some of that looks like AJPW golden age compared to Hogans pre-nWo WCW stuff. He did basically nothing with VAN VADER! He murdered Flair. He made Savage his little buddy. He wasted what could've been great years for Sting. Crow Sting was cool stuff but then Starrcade 97 happened. Dungeon of Doom before Paul Wight showed up!? Shiiiid...terrible. Besides that, bad times...Bret getting kicked in the head after wallowing in wackness in WCW for a year after the Montreal whatever. And Steve Austin getting dropped on his head and having to be less of a hoss than he really was during his hot run. Shawn Damn Michaels being a drugged up/partially crippled mess and missing the core of the attitude era.

We've gotten to roughly a decade with 3 of the 4 Radicals being either not alive or basically missing.

And lawd...Kurt Angle and Jeff Hardy nowadays...

I skipped a lot between WM 21 and 24. I was live and in person for WM25 (aka HBK-Taker 1), so I've been at least at arm's length for everything since then through the ups and downs.

I love the network too. It is probably the best 9.99 a month I spend..either that or PSN+XBox Live.

But I need Vince and them to get this thing right. This roster is crawling with wrestling ass wrestlers. There's NO excuse to have bad wrestling basically anywhere on these cards. And good wrestlers should be doing good stuff. Cesaro, Dolph, American Dragon, etc...hell, even unreliable ass Orton.

Brock's run is awesome for something that has been completely fucked off. All of the stuff we're talking about with Brock having killer matches with these cats should be happening. Brock having..what..SIX matches with Cena or HHH and none with most of the best workers in the group is embarrassing. Hell..imagine him vs El Generico/Sami Zayn. A no-sold Helluva Kick or something. Imagine Brock catching him and F5-ing him when he does his 'jump through the corner' thing outside. And Sami would soak up that Ricky Morton heat vs a monster like Brock like no other. Awww man homie...WWE is playin tricks on me.

That Long Island crowd was all-in in Brock, so rather than ignore it and plow through like a dumb deaf babyface he played more heel. There's even a post-match promo he cut that didn't air on the PPV where he pretty much tells Long Island to go to hell. It's on YouTube and it's great.

He did the same thing against Hogan in Toronto.

Meanwhile moron Cena has no sold some of the most aggravated audiences in history for the last decade.

when they had their announcement for the network, WWE gave out goodie bags to people in attendance. one of the things inside was the google chromecast. ok now, months and months later, WWE STILL doesn't have chromecast capability. that just seems....not right to me lol

and i know about casting tabs from the web browser to my tv. but the timing gets off

it probably 'stuttered' 3-4 times.

so...during game of thrones, no. for something not as important, it's ok.

that said, I read a reccomendation to play prime in Flash before using chromecast (there's a setting on Amazon). I'm not sure what WEE uses - probably silverlight.

So Prime may run better with chromecast.

It's a pretty dumb thing to not have support for.

Tablet or phone, android or iOS

Apps with native support will have the chromecast icon somewhere in the UI, while the Chromecast app (I think) now supports casting various screens on your device (not within non-supporting apps though)

166. "Nope. Punk’s issue wasn’t the model, it was a lack of answers. "
In response to Reply # 161

He wanted to know how it affected paydays. Nobody had an answer. The model is immaterial. In terms of growth, the model isn’t the issue, it’s the lack of content.

PPV was already dying. Further, PPV revenues were split with carriers. Further still, the buy rate gap between Mania and some of the b/c level PPV’s is staggering. Mania might yield a much bigger payoff overall under the PPV model, doing in the ball park of a million buys in a given year, but those secondary shows often do less than a hundred thousand buys. A million subscribers at 9.99=steady revenue (more or less). Five years from now we’ll see how they’ve grown the product, but there’s no denying they abandoned a sinking ship in the PPV business.

A major issue is the lack of content. Sounds weird considering they’ve got an unreal amount of content in terms of PPV’s alongside their DVD documentaries, Rivalries and whatnot, but there are glaring holes.
While the collection of PPV’s is staggering, there are massive gaps that don’t allow us to watch them in context. There are years of programming such as WWE Superstars, WWE Challenge, etc. WCW Saturday night is completely absent. Far more egregious is the lack of Monday Night Raw, Smackdown, and Monday Nitro episodes. Shit, even Thunder, though that’s not a huge loss. There’s a ton of PPV material to watch but it would be nice to go back to the weekly shows that built these PPV matches. We get the first….. I dunno, year and a half worth of Nitro which is nice, but why not give us the entire collection? Same goes for Raw. For as much as they worship at the altar of the Attitude Era, so much of it is nowhere to be found unless we’re watching the umpteenth retrospective or a documentary of an AE star. I’d rather watch those episodes and follow along en route to the PPV climax of those stories.

I do think WWE is a bit delusional with their projections. They average what, four million (Nielson) viewers for Raw and Smackdown? They probably averaged around 300,000 PPV buys a month. I think I read that they expect to get about 3 million subscribers at some point, which would basically be three quarters of their flagship viewers and (estimating here) ten times their average PPV buyers. Given the discrepancy between average PPV buys and viewers, it’s an awfully large leap to project that many subscribers even with the price cut and included PPV’s.

I think they’d do well to add some sort of mutant blend of Spike and ABC Family, offering a small slate of original content along with shows that fir their demographic. It seems like a no-brainer to offer some form of content from NBC, for example. Even if it’s just SyFy and USA content. Viacom seems a natural partner for certain things (strike a deal to feature Comedy Central Roasts, maybe even shows like Naruto, for example). This obviously depends on preexisting contracts and I don’t know that they want to put too much non-wrestling content up there, but you get the point.

If they can move forward with strategic partnerships and offer some other form of content besides wrestling but captures the same demo, then they’d have a real shot at building something with upwards of 2 million subscribers. That’s easier said than done, especially with the cost of such content, but that’s still the direction I think they should be headed. There may be an issue in terms of how that additional revenue benefits wrestlers when WWE is paying for outside content, but since wrestlers are paid per appearance and such content would most likely be an upfront licensing fee, I think it would still benefit the wrestlers overall.

I’d have to read the context of how Meltzer said it but it’s sort of a silly thing to ‘point out’ in the world of fake wrestling. They played up a real-life family connection no differently than they play up (or used to, lol) a wrestlers real life personality or real life situations.

Neighbors, friends of family, classmates, coworkers, it doesn't matter. As long as there's "that" kind of personal bond then it's all gravy.

Sure Seth Rollins could just announce he is going to fight at Mania for the title and they'd have to let him, but instead he chooses to fight 2 matches to do it instead.

As a competitor at least it makes sense. As a heel maybe it doesn't quite make sense but as a competitor it makes sense.

If you had a free title shot at any time, wouldn't you take as many title shots as you could BEFORE you absolutely had to cash that freebie in?

Again, that would be Cena's logic. I don't know if your top heel should think that way. The heel thing to do would be for Rollins to announce he's cashing in at Mania and then insist he's NOT wrestling until then and make a troll job out of it for two months. That'd be great.

Especially as a heel?

If that's me, I'd rather get my title shot than use my trump card. If he says he's using his shot for the title match at mania, then loses the match, he wasted his biggest advantage. However, if he maneuvers his way into a title match and loses, he could live 5th fight another day. Hell, he can lose, attack his opponent after the match, and still cash in.

If you ask me he's playing that card shrewdly and patiently waiting for just the right time, and that's great logic....especially as a heel. I've said it before, but he's Edge 2.0 and this is Ultimate Opportunist thinking.

Orton was the champ who whined at every opportunity. Rollins is the dude they actually have confidence in, and he enjoys being put in situations where they have confidence he'll overcome obstacles. If they automatically threw him in every title match it would get boring, if he whined too much about obstacles he would just be Orton 2.0. He's a very different character, so they need to distinguish him.

How the fuck have they not been playing this up?

They could have built him and Rusev as too monsters on a collision course. Reigns/Rusev at Mania would have been big business and elevated that US strap nicely.

I hear what you're saying but I don't see how that's a selling point - and it clearly isn't an angle that can help Reigns right now. How's he supposed to say: "I know you're all mad at me for being hand-picked but top brass and not being ready to take this next step in my career and being pushed over other people, but let's put all that aside now and focus on the fact that I haven't lost a match since FCW".

I don't see how that endears to him fans at this point or makes him more sympathetic towards them.

Had he not been heading to Mania against Lesnar, had he not won the Rumble and faced the Backlash then absolutely, yes: him vs Rusev at Mania with that as the selling point would be perfect.

which was exactly my point.

"He's like the McDonald's Hot Coffee incident in that it's a situation that people tend to point to that usually doesn't hold up once the facts come into play."

The point is, these are cases people tend to use as examples in ways that don't align with the facts of the case.

You should probably do some research on the Tyson case if you think his conviction was just. There's more than enough evidence of all types on all sides to cast serious doubt, from the judge (heavy handed as fuck, shooting down pretty much everything that could have helped Tyson's case , who also had a well known history prosecuting sex crimes), Tyson (ahem: Don King's) lawyer, the integrity Washington (this wasn't her first accusation and the details of the previous accusation are pretty damning, not to mention the fact that she secured her attorney on a contingency for a pre-planned civil case, information that was suppressed from the jury) to the 'star witness' (a limo driver who Tyson wasn't exactly nice to who seems to have decided to get the last laugh in a really fucked up way) to the jury itself, a couple of who later regretted their decision after learning of the mountain of information they were never privy to.....yeah.

Tyson didn't really have a fair trial and the overall evidence strongly suggests reasonable doubt. So yeah, calling him a convicted rapist is correct but completely ignores the facts of the situation.BY that definition, Zimmerman didn't murder Trayvon Martin and cops are always justified when they murder someone, because they're never convicted.

If you're of the mind that a conviction means you did the crime and that's the end of it, there's nothing else to discuss.

Far as Hot Coffee, that's my entire point: people love to point to that as an example of wildly out of control, frivolous lawsuits, but the facts of the case don't support it being frivolous that anymore than the facts support Tyson being a rapist.

Do we have video of Tyson raping someone? No. Further, his public persona at the time he worked with WWE aligned with WWE's persona at the time.... and his public persona had changed right along with WWE's when he was inducted into the HOF. Further, the rape conviction can (and fucking SHOULD) be scrutinized and viewed as a grave injustice on the part of the legal system.

Can we head over to bing and watched Chyna fuck herself in the ass in one clip, get fucked in the ass in another clip, and get gangbanged by five guys pretending to be pro wrestlers in another clip?

Yep, sure can.

Oh, what about all the divas in Playboy? Rena Mero was naked, not getting her asshole hollowed out by a baseball team's worth of guys.

Yes, there's a huge difference there. There's a line.

This notion people have that a publicly traded corporation can't have a razor thin line of what they will and will not accept is absurd and much ado about nothing.

In response to Reply # 217

he made a point to say he's not judging her from a moral standpoint, meaning it's admittedly a PR move. If that were the case, they wouldn't induct Tyson. They wouldn't be judging Tyson by not letting him in, just acknowledging it's not good PR to have someone convicted of rape in the HOF. When that person was just a celebrity appearance and doesn't have actual ties to the business, it makes even less sense that he's in and she isn't.

but the idea of them playing moral police on basically anything is hilarious. As others have pointed out, they had HHH act out necrophilia.

I'm not holding them up as some sort of moral authority or anything, but there's a huge difference between what they do today and what they did ten-fifteen years ago.

There's a valid argument for hypocrisy if we're contrasting this stance with the things they're doing today, but not if we're pulling out relics of a bygone era.

I'd love for him to have asked Vince and HHH honestly about Daniel Bryan - what their thought process was between last year's Rumble and Mania and why it seems fans are being ignored about his 'push'.

I think the problem is Vince.

Yes, everyone says 'Vince is still the boss' etc so I'd say you're right but I'd love a genuine explanation of the logic behind it. I think it breaks kayfabe too much to ask that question which is why I didn't expect it for either interview.

booked to walk in the ring, and get immediately eliminated in 1 second. like back in the day it was ok for barbarian, people thought it was "real" and unscripted", santino? well he was the comedy guy.... nowadays...you pay a guy to come put on his gear, walk in and walk out.

unless u are super monster (to shock folks and push a story line), or comedy relief is there any other way to sh*t on a guy's character? have they even let him address it? hell they got 5- hours of tv.

that's just dumb.

Lower card guys get lower card moments. It is what it is.

The real issue is that they should present everyone as a star overall so that the overall product is better, but these specific moments are of no consequence unless we're talking about them in the context of the greater damage being done.

If he weren't a Hennig I'd like his size but that's about it. He's got a face for a Florida marsh and zero charisma.

Curt bought him an awful lot of leeway though. Not just in ring either, every word I've ever heard said about the guy is that he was as stand-up as they get. He might be the only guy I've ever heard Bret put over more than Austin. The only other guy with a rep as sterling as Curt Hennig is Taker from what I've seen.

Lol

He's a jobber. He got jobbed out. The end.

There's zero reason to be upset by that.

There's reason to be upset at the complete lack of regard for everything below the main event picture.

There's no reason to be angry about a jobber to get jobbed out at the rumble when something similar happens to someone in most years. You may as well go yell at traffic.

Hell, his whole career has been a slap to his face.

It's the Rumble. Quick exits are part of the match and always have been. We're you this outraged over Warlord? Or do you think he was some important monster instead of the forgettable mid-carder he really was?

Further, it was a small part of the match it's like the 30th in a list of 39 things to be upset about and you're soap boxing like it mattered in the least.

He's a jobber. He jobbed. The end.

They're clueless.

I loved that they were taking a serious approach to social media because it really is a useful tool for any business, but they've screwed the pooch on that so badly it's befuddling. They had a great chance to create something truly immersive and interactive and just plain don't know what they're doing.

Nobody from the Wyatt's should be on there in character, for one. Two, they should really separate personal accounts from character accounts.

Balor-Itami was pretty great. Hideo made that dropkick into the corner look absolutely vicious. I can't say I pay attention to Japanese wrestling, so I only know both of these dudes from what I've seen so far on NXT, but I like both of them. Balor seems like a can't miss star already. He's incredible.

I was enjoying Neville-Corbin until the ending sequence. I get why they had it play out that way, though. I was interested to see Corbin in a regular-length match against a good opponent, and I guess we got most of the way there. I don't particularly care about another Corbin-Bull Dempsey match, but it's a no DQ match so maybe they'll just beat the living shit out of each other for like 10 minutes and that'll be that.

Anyway, another live special this Wednesday, and it should be fantastic. Zayn-Owens, four-way women's title match and Neville-Balor should all be killer, plus whatever happens in the Corbin-Bull and tag matches. I'm excited for it.

Itami's Japan stuff is ridiculous. Shit is physical with a bunch of video game moves and reversals. A lot of people showed a gang of ass for him...eating stiff kicks galore. And they sold for him. And they didn't go out of their way to 'make him look small'. Of course, he's also the inspiration for most of Phil's wwe offense as well as Brian's running knee+ finisher.

real talk, if you want to enjoy yaself, roll up on some indy highlights on YouTube. Kevin Steen vs El Generico will have you ready for Owens vs Zayn. KENTA. Bryan danielson. Tyler black shit will let you know for sho that Rollins is about to be the king shit for the next decade unless wwe has jokes or he gets hurt.

I've been doing that and watching wwe network all day. I am in the midst of watching random Brock Lesnar stuff. I still can barely believe Brock vs Goldberg with scsa as ref in 2004 somehow didn't go well. I get that they were both leaving but damn...Maybe wwe was getting too greedy with the hulk hogan big match (wm6 vs warrior) template. Aka trying to heat-check every move to make limited action look and feel like more than what it is. Meanwhile, even Stone Cold was in the ring looking like 'damn guys, let's go'. But they hossed it more than I remember. That hogan-Lesnar match from smackdown was a whole lot of nothing but at least Hulk showed SOME ass in between jackass nosells. And he sold the f5 like a Barry White Driver.

http://www.wrestlezone.com/news/550703-reported-wrestlemania-31-main-event-changed-due-to-fan-reaction-vince-mcmahons-reasons-for-making-the-switch

4WOnline.com is reporting there are big changes coming to the proposed Wrestlemania 31 main event between Roman Reigns and current World Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar.

Daniel Bryan is expected to be added to the match, making it a triple threat after Vince McMahon reportedly called a meeting this week and discussed the changes.

We previously reported WWE would not repeat a triple threat again this year, and wouldn’t cater to the fans again, but this does not appear to be the case any longer. McMahon reportedly wanted to make the changes after recent crowd reactions.

Plans could still always change between now and the WWE Fastlane pay-per-view, but the plan at the moment is to move the show towards booking the triple threat.

I’m not saying they’re doing a great job in their storytelling because they’ve been terrible. I don’t see how Fastlane or the Rumble are pointless though.

Either way, I don’t particularly care how or why they get Bryan in there so long as they get Bryan in there, because that match with him will be far better than that match without him.

It's fine. They addressed the Reigns thing for now. They get to do something good with his character instead of making him the worst things that cena is minus the experience and some of the wrestling. Db is the number one face and he's now in the main program. Brock is still an snk boss. Cena gets lost in the sauce of Russev but that's okay by me. Rollins has the briefcase and is the clear next king shit. He'll get saddled with good but pointless matches with Orton before his 'shocking' cash-in the Monday after mania when Brock retains. But that's fine for now. Add creepy Sting vs Hunter since taker and sting can't carry each other to a more 'lay around' version of hbk/taker, bray vs naptaker, and a couple other things aren't a bad mania. Dolph gets a short end but water is wet. I wish he had some better offensive moves and a legal counsel to parse his statements at all times. He'll get heel sheamus. Cesaro...sweet sweet Cesaro...who knows what awaits him. Maybe he'll work with Neville in April. authority with Cesaro and Sheamus would be an upgrade over Kane Show.

The roof would go off the building if Rollins cashed in the next night on Raw as you describe. As epic a moment as it would be - particularly if Lesnar is there to say he's leaving - I kinda hope that doesn't happen as I'm loving heel Seth right now.

I hope not. If so, he'd probably just do the Evolution Batista story. It's the lazy way out. I'm all for the moonwalk out of the Brock/Reigns mania match. I would've preferred that they moonwalked b4 fucking off the Rumble match. I kinda hope Reigns just keeps being whatever he is now...the kinda cool semi-hoss guy who is gonna be champ someday. And because everyone 'knows' that, wwe can make a lot of stories/side missions. He needs the time to get ready anyway. Db picking at him could lead to a cool as hell Brian heel turn.

I think we're getting a full dusty finish at fast lane to get the triple threat at mania. And it's gonna be lame. At least we know it's coming. Who in the hell knows who is going over at mania. They just can't let Brock's true status get out before then so that he remains an option to win, which would be fine. I'm currently tied to the shady Rollins cashin as my finish of choice no matter who wins. Whether it is mania night or sometime shortly thereafter, doesn't matter. I think DB is gonna win and get cashed in on that night.

- goldust eliminates stardust early in the rumble
- 15 entries later Cody Rhodes comes out and eliminates Goldust
- Goldust steps to stardust the next night like wtf, Stardust plays dumb

Don't you see how much fun you could have with that for weeks? Maybe Stardust and Goldust could even win the tag titles, then later in the night Cody attacks Goldust. That would actually be interesting.

NXT is doing nearly everything perfect, the WWE roster wants to go in that direction, and still nothing in the WWE changes. Then when these guys make their debut on the big stage they're usually brushed off quickly and go straight to jobber status.

A big part of it is NXT can slowplay a lot of storylines like the whole SZ rise to the title. Everything on WWE tv is about ratings that week and if they aren't working they scrap a storyline.

The other biggest part imo is that NXT doesn't have any 1 guy the show is about. Every Raw has the same formula, Authority sets up evil thing that main hero has to overcome, show is built around talking about the hero overcoming it and then at the end the hero overcomes it or doesnt because Authority cheats even more. They spend almost 3 entire hours just building what Cena (or whoever) will be doing that night.

In NXT the champ gets as much time as the opener (longer matches but you know what I mean), it is a group effort to make a great show top to bottom just like WWE used to do. Every segment is important and they focus on each segment. It makes every story intriguing rather than every story just being time filler before Cena comes back.

but if they've been doing the "throw everything at the wall and see what sticks" approach for a while, why aren't they blaming that for the ratings? Their desperate attempts to get a handful more viewers (I.e. Jerry Springer, Grumpy Cat) are a huge turn-off, and they're really apparent during football season. It's been brought up a million times, but a simple thing like a multi-week tournament could do wonders for them. And there's no reason not to do that with all the meaningless wrestling they televise.

They are convinced that wrestling isn't their main thing. They think the stories and characters are the things...that shit is on wcw's tombstone...like they can't focus like hell on both. They basically have most of the best indy workers from the last 5-8 years on their roster now. There's no reason they shouldn't have the best shows wrestling-wise in the whole damn world. I love Shinsuke swag and them, but Cmon. And It ain't like Cena and Orton can't work too. Hoss ass sheamus too. But I keep seeing show and Kane everywhere....like Harper with a shave and Fella couldn't do their roles more convincingly.

roles.

Actually

Can you imagine Rollins with Cesaro in a suit as his ‘insurance policy’ heater (ass a cool ass nod to Rick Rude and the OG DX, but waaaaaaay more involved) instead of J&J (joke-e-joke!) Security? Shit they could have even turned Dolph and added him in there with Cesaro as ‘insurance’. Character refresh for Dolph and BAM. Easy money.

Fella’s been out injured, but why the fuck wouldn’t you elevate your young (read: future) talent with Harper and Ryback in those roles? Shit would have been cake. Ryback gets “fired”, has a chat with The Authority, says he’ll run prove himself by running through Show and Kane, does just that, and there you go. Problem solved in one night.

Now we’d have Reigns/Bryan fighting Dolph, Cesaro, Ryback, Harper, and Rollins instead of Rollins and four old stooges.

Night and day difference.

I bitch about that all the time. The shady authority figure story is tired even if Steph and HHH do the role proud most of the time. But the 'not that serious' undesirable heel opponent is damn near as bad as the distraction rollup finish. They need to throw ghat finish out.

Kane is as done as can be. I appreciate that he's in shape at his age. I appreciate that he isn't exactly a terrible worker. But lawd...if he isn't tombstoning db on steel steps, he's a joke. Cena ruined whatever was left of his monster mystique. Struggling to beat Kane now is bad for a face.

5 hours of TV time to film plus Network exclusive stuff. NXT has 30 official men and 8 women, with one hour per week to film.

Main roster could, presumably, slow play some of their angles (like they've been forced to do with the title due to Brock's arrangement). Give the women time to put on actual matches and not three minute races to distraction rollups. Develop feuds for the championship that don't revolve around non-title loss, fifty-fifty bullshit. Use local talent or lower-tier superstars (like, JTG was on the main roster forever and appeared on what, two Raws after Cryme Tyme broke up?) to establish the bonafides of the mid and upper card. Give us a proper tag division. And for god's sake, don't use a 20 minute promo to do what a 5 minute segment could accomplish. Because you know what we hate a LOT more than "wrestling for wrestling's sake (and memo to Vince, we don't hate that at ALL)?" Talking for talking's sake.

I mean, shit, Hulk Hogan wasn't on every Superstars in the pre-Raw era. But people still wanted to tune in to see if this would be a week for him. Do that with Cena. Do that with Reigns. And hell, cycling guys off could help with some of injury problems.

Nxt gets the simple stuff right by trucking along as an unapologetic wrestling show that follows wrestling rules.

- They pretend everyone is of some importance.
- Heels and faces play their damn roles! Kevin steen is a mfing heel. He's lying. He's all about himself. He double-crossed and critical'd his indy homeboy for a developmental wwe title...and he did it immediately upon arrival. Imagine what he's gonna do him when they are on the main roster.
- About that....the show is booked like just about everyone is there to win a title. Even if they get caught in some personal shit from time to time, the end game is to be winning a title. Imagine that. When was the last time R-Truth even said 'title'?
- The buck stops at the wrestling. If you suck at wrestling, you're not winning and keeping titles. Fuck your 'look'. Wrestle.

I care more about Bayley getting the title off of the BOSS than I do about whatever bullshit the Bellas are doing, because the story is more than "well, Sasha's just a bitch and Bayley is jealous of her success."

It's "Bayley's tired of losing friends and getting her knee destroyed. On top of that, she held her damn own in the four-way, and Sasha capitalized on her hard work."

As an adult, I tend to frown upon them. I hope dud was safe after that but that looked awfully hard to kayfabe.

If I were still a kid though? He yeah. I used to wish Diesel would do an inverted jack knife on to the steel railing or grab someone by the ankles and swing them head first into the ring post. Shit is a little too wild knowing what I know now though.

It's sneaky but Yep...he's athletic...especially for a guy with a gut. He less 'fat' than lets say Samoa Joe. Or maybe he's just smart enough to wear a shirt so that you don't know for sure. Regardless, he's clearly a high-end wrestler...both as a character and as a 'dude from the indies who does movez'.

I'm gonna be upset if the crowd at full sail doesn't do right by him. He deserves appreciative boos galore not 'I get what you're doing' cheers.

By the way, he wrestled Shinsuke. YouTube it and enjoy.

other great show. Love how they disregard the cool down match theory, and just put the best 3 matches all back to back.

-Best Itami match since joining NXT. Loved the hulk up, loved Tyler busting out the selfie stick and the Bret Hart post figure four.

-Corbin isn't working for me, he doesn't look menacing in the ring, his finisher doesn't make sense to me, and ever since some dude on reddit pointed out that his belly button is a wide smile, I can't really take his matches seriously. Bull is fine I guess, his singlet and finisher are awful, but he can be an NXT midcarder.

-Tag match was a mess. Only people on the show who came out looking weaker.

-Loved the Balor/Neville match, was paced really well. Dug the post-match faded Balor paint, reminded me of when I'd mark out as a kid when Warriors would fall off. Favorite spot was the red arrow countered into a small package. Kinda hoped they turned Neville heel at the end.

-Every single NXT live event special as had a baller womens title match. Everyone looked strong in this, especially Bayley. Less hugging, more top rope suplexes. What's up with Corey Graves shitting on Becky? I get it, she's a poser or whatever, but he's Corey Graves? Dug the nod of respect between Banks and Flair, wasn't sure if it was a quick "proud of you" moment, or if Flair is getting called up to the main roster.

-Kevin Owens wins by KO is perfect. Zayn never pinned and Owens looks like a Brock level murderer. I love the idea of a heel who cries when get wins the title, but could also give a shit about his lifeless best friend on the floor. I know they aren't letting him do the package piledriver, but that pump handle neckbreaker he uses looks way more dangerous.

I'm not normally a fan of watching teams get jobbed out by one dominant person(s) but all-in-all I thought they did a great job on it from start to finish and gave the whole thing a decent amount of time. Told lots of good stories as well so.

I'm thinking they're going to turn Bryan heel - he's had moments over the last 2 weeks or so. Crazy if they do it though and could backfire massively.

What's next for him? Back to ROH? Japan? Lucha Underground? GFW? As much as I would've liked to see him in WWE years ago, I can't see them bringing him to the main roster and I can't see him going to NXT.

This stuff with Phil is trying to rival Bret's departure. It has a long way to go but damnit...c'mon everyone. WWE needs to do better and Phil would do well to actually go away like he claims he's trying to do...ufc it up, knock up his wife, do some comic books, etc, etc.

Punk has the same condition Bret has, being adamant that he's a pro's pro when in fact he's wildly self absorbed and borderline delusional. We'll call it "Favre Syndrome"

The difference between Bret and Punk is that Bret actually had a hell of a run and helped keep the ship afloat for a while. That's not an attempt to justify his ego, but it does explain how a sociopath like Bret Hart could end up the way he is; Bret Hart WAS extremely important for a long time.

As much as I loved him, CM Punk wasn't as important as Bret. In reality, he had a hot two years, but that's still two years inside of Cena's 10+ year window. (Tangentially, I actually think Daniel Bryan stands to be more important than CM Punk ever was, though he's yet to deliver on that promise largely in part to limpdick booking.)

We all know that eventually the WWE will pull the hoe card on an egomaniac - Bret, Warrior, and even Hogan can all attest to that. Now Punk's just had his number called, let's see how litigious he wants to get when he's the one on the defensive.

For all his faults, he presented his story as just HIS story even if it is indicative of larger issues with the company. The biggest part of it was the medical treatment stuff, and if what he says is true then they need a huge overhaul in how they treat wrestlers. I don't see anything narcissistic about sharing those stories. They're insane.
