like, we can just appreciate the fact that anthony davis is playing unsane, unrational, inbelievable basketball right now without needing to understand the historical place for a third-year player.

PER is a fucked-up stat, so let's use win shares. Anthony Davis already has 3 win shares. 2nd place is Harden with 2.5. The gap between Davis and Harden as big as the gap between Harden and 8th place.

Anthony Davis is here for our souls and we can't stop him from claiming them all.

Silly reaction: "OMG THIS IS HISTORICAL AFTER TEN GAMES! CALL SPRINGFIELD!"
Crappy reaction: "It's only ten games, he'll sink back to Earth with everyone else. Also, there is no Santa Claus."

Good reaction: "Davis is, right today, bananas."

I'm not the biggest proponent of PER....It's a bit of a reach...

But I don't need ginned up STATS to understand that in the next two years Davis will be the best player in basketball....Anyone that had side-eye worthy things to say about that kid is looking pretty silly....

He is playing on another level.....And he has yet to get "it"....Wait until he masters a go-to move...Fucking scary....

GOAT of his era......long live Prince.....God is alive....

... how there was a grip of people on here who questioned AD's offensive prowess, because the first time they'd ever seen him was in the title game, and they were all like, "WELL IF HE CAN'T SCORE ON THE BIG STAGE LIKE THIS THEN HOW WILL HE EVER BE ABLE TO SCORE AGAINST NBA BIGS?!"

I still think about that and get a hearty chuckle. They weren't just trolling or hating either. They really and truly meant it. Based off of one game. And not even based off of the game-- just the number of points scored.

I could mention a couple of the user names of those who I distinctly remember making that argument, but I'll let it slide. They're the usual suspects anyhow.

more justice to compare those numbers to other players over a similar stretch of time...that really puts it in perspective.
