machine who never really had another scoring option to take the pressure off him or draw double teams a la Shaq/Kobe...Pippen wasn't really a big scoring threat either...but yet MJ always shot a very high FG% - shit, his FG% for his career is pretty much 50%

So there's no way Jordan would've shot below 50% if he played w/a prime Shaq

It's inconceivable - that's why I keep saying the distance between Jordan and Kobe is far greater than the distance between Kobe and AI.

For all his talent and versatility, he was also an all-around headcase who was incredibly inconsistent. Anyone who actually watched his career with the Lakers would know that he'd have easily averaged 17-20 points a game if he didn't brick layup after fucking layup like clockwork. Missing chippies was as much a hallmark of his as snatching rebounds. He'd give you a Magic Johnson stat line one night and a tenth man stat line the next, while playing the same amount of minutes. A lot of us hold a certain affection for Lamar, but anyone who isn't desperately grasping at straws to shit on Kobe knows you never knew which Lamar was going to show up from game to game.

Caron played for the Lakers in only his third year, two years prior to his peak, which lasted a whopping three years. So, again, he played for the Lakers in his third year where he had a 6 point increase from his 9 ppg effort in his previous season to score a whopping 15 points a game..... which just so happens to be his career average. He hit his peak in Washington, but then so did Larry Hughes. His biggest contribution was in netting the Kwame "Cake/Rape" Brown contract that we flipped for Pau.

It's telling that you called them all star *talents* and not *all stars*, because you know good and well that you're talking about two guys who never quite put it all together the way people thought they would. All star talents are not ALL STARS.

Oh, and the umber of playoff GAMES Pau won in 12 tries before Kobe:

0.

The Lakers record that year before Bynum went down? 23-11.

Another fun fact: Parker and Ginobili have a combined 8 all star appearances, all of them with the Spurs. Caron and Lamar have a combined 2 all star appearances, none of them with the Lakers.

These are facts.

I love this weird standard people have for Kobe's need for help that doesn't seem to apply to anyone else. He's literally the only guy who gets shit for having help.

Cheese turned Pippen into a HOFer meanwhile Odom regressed once he started playing alongside Bean......I wonder why?

>Oh, and the umber of playoff GAMES Pau won in 12 tries before
>Kobe:
>
>0.

He had to go up against the Mavs/Spurs when they were the dominating the league along w/ the 2005 Suns who had pre-injury Amare & Joe Johnson.

>The Lakers record that year before Bynum went down? 23-11.
Injuries are part of the game bruh......Did anyone give T-Mac a pass for Grant Hill/Yao's injuries?

>Another fun fact: Parker and Ginobili have a combined 8 all
>star appearances, all of them with the Spurs. Caron and Lamar
>have a combined 2 all star appearances, none of them with the
>Lakers.
Translation: Timmay makes his teammates better while Bean stunts their growth. Odom/Drew started playing at an All-Star level after Pau arriver.....Bean also won his only MVP playing alongside Pau.

>There are facts.
So are mines.

>I love this weird standard people have for Kobe's need for
>help that doesn't seem to apply to anyone else. He's literally
>the only guy who gets shit for having help.
He's the only "Superstar" who constantly throws his teammates under the bus, stunts their growth & has zero loyalty when he has never won shyt sans All-NBA level teammates.

while Kobe would have the same amount of Finals games or less as AI did if swapped out for each other.

Kobe's main edges over Iverson are longevity-based like Malone over Barkley.

But while Kobe spent his first eight years under Phil Jackson as his team's second-best player for one of the then-still-greatest organizations in pro sports, Iverson spent the first five years of their careers being better than Kobe and at least one (arguably two more) after that despite his first decade never playing with another All-Star and the argument for his best teammate over that period being perhaps Aaron McKie or Eric Snow.

The reality is we have no real evidence to suggest that Kobe Bryant on his own volition had any more ability to affect his team's bottom line win total as an individual than prime Iverson did.

However, he was half a foot taller while his number of seasons at elite level lasted longer, which is why he has to be considered a better player historically but the gap isn't as large as the national media or outraged Kobestans would pretend it is.

The chasm from Kobe to MJ is certainly a considerable stretch wider than the gap between AI and Kobe.

But he still beat the entire Pistons squad by himself & took a bunch of bench players to the Finals at 22. Bean would have taken 35 shots a game & proceeded to throw the entire squad under the bus after they get bounced in the 1st rd.

Bean w/o Pau/Shaq would have had a career similar to his buddy Melo.

Kobe: 22/106 games with 30+ FGA & .500+FG% = .208 of games

MJ: 67/130 games with 30+FGA & .500+FG% = .515 of games

AI: 28/98 games with 30+FGA & .500+FG% = .286 of games

Meanwhile, you can't even own up to Bron needing great teammates to win a title (which is something you're using to shit on Kobe).

Who? What? Nobody's shittin on Bean for having had GREAT and VERY GOOD teammates...ppl who throw out his 5 rings act as if he won those rings by himself...

YOU'RE the one using the great teammates angle against Lebron...I guess Lebron's the only great player who's supposed to win a ring by himself

there's not much to play for this season besides adding to the point total. rack them up, imo. no one's going to care long-term about his FG% when he was in his 18th year
