for the Agenda-Con nature of the boards, but LeBron himself gave lowered expectations in that letter once he re-joined the Cavs. Then again, that was before the Love move, so I guess it could be argued expectations shouldn't too low.
Hopefully I will be able to watch the Cavs on League Pass this year because I really want to see how well the team plays defense, which I think will be huge for them and any success the Cavs/LeBron will have.
The cynic in me thinks he tried to lower expectations in light of the "Not one, not two, not three, not four..." debacle in the first Miami press conference after The Decision.

I'm the biggest Lebron stan there is but its a fail if they don't win a title. this isn't a unit of supremely talented players who are in their first 2-3 nba seasons, the elites on this team should figure it out THIS SEASON. I ain't sayin its the dream team but in comparison to the majority of the other squads it is, from a talent standpoint. They got the coach they wanted, their starting unit is better on paper than basically everyone.

Vegas may be high on the Cavs for obvious reasons but many ppl who know the game have said the expectations are too high for a team w/a head coach who has NEVER coached in the league and the team's 2nd and 3rd best players have never even gotten near the postseason
But now they're supposed to win it all in year 1 and if not it's a failure!?!? I think they can come out of the east which isn't a gimme but I'm not going to go as far as saying they're better than the Spurs/LAC/OKC <----at full strength

What his feelings are and he'll tell you the season was a FAILURE. there is ZERO expectations for this Lakers squad to even finish with a .500 record, he has players he needs to gel with, he is returning from what should have been a career ending injury for a player 36 years old, nah FAILURE. No way anybody who knows anything abt basketball would say a team where several of their best players haven't played in a single playoff game and the head coach hasn't been so much as an assistant coach In the league should be the favorites to win it all year one
This is a different situation from when Lebron went to Miami where Wade was already a champion and an NBA finals MVP and you at least had Riles backing up Spo who was fairly inexperienced as a HC of a team w/championship aspirations...
