Which isn't surprising for a normal 20-year-old, and really shouldn't be here, but it's disappointing to see him think, on repeated occasions now, that he's above consequence.

Because even if the FSU authorities aren't really ever punishing him, the public perception of him is changing from "he's fucked up a couple of times" to "oh, maybe he's just an idiot asshole."

ESPECIALLY given the current climate with regards to sexual assault at universities.

and then on top of that there is certain conduct specific to student athletes which this type of thing most definitely violates.

of course, if it hadn't happened in the middle of the student fucking union in front of 100's of people who then tweeted about it, it would've been brushed aside.

If someone was going around the student union yelling "fuck her right in the pussy," they'd at least get removed by security, maybe a disorderly conduct citation if they were uncooperative with campus cops during.

The hell did people go to school where that kind of thing was normal?

And yes, if he did this at a house party, nobody would care.

aware that this was a meme.

shit, i ain't know it was a meme. i may have heard it before and chalked it up to the big list of internet dumb shit. like setting yourself on fire. or asphyxiating yourself and your friends.

as mentioned, w/ all the stereotypes about athletes, and then being an athlete who has an investigation (even if you were completely innocent), and then, being in an age where #rapeculture is being used to describe all types of stuff, AND given the current media feeding frenzy re: domestic abuse, AND given that that shit was nowhere near funny, AND given that that meme, to someone who knows nothing about it, sounds like you are just yelling profanity...

not to mention that fk her right in the p* would prolly make a lot of women uncomfortable...

that's a bunch of shit to not even be considered.

plus, you black?

We almost never make cross racial athletic comparisons,
but its true

Mariota is a the wiry thoroughbred olympian caliber athlete

Jameis is the sturdy, cerebral gutsy guy with surprising
athleticism

Weird thing about Jameis being an imbecile is that his
advantage over everyone else is definitely cerebral on
the field

Dude was 12 y/o diagramming passing trees...very gifted
mentally

He is a SMART football player

Good all around athlete like Luck

Jameis actually looks most like Tom Brady in the pocket
than anyone else

Hard to believe, but Jameis Winston is actually an
athletic savant, and most of it is above-the-neck

That was his reputation coming out of high school:
playbook addict, takes zero time to learn a playbook
inside and out

Even in baseball: stories of his fastball are exaggerated.
His fastball is good (low 90s), but he's a lights out closer
because of location, control, intelligence. He's a very smart
baseball player too.

Without caring whether he (or any baseball player, really) is actually smart, this isn't exactly true. BA had him sitting 92-94 with a good slider. He scraped 96 as a freshman That's more than sufficient raw power to be a dominant reliever in college without possessing a single thought in one's head.

>Admit it...you havent watched more than 2 games Marcus
>Mariota has played in.

I've watched about 6 or 7 in full

And to say he's RG3 isn't to shit on him at all

Its a huge compliment, actually

Mariota is a physically gifted thoroughbred, who
could very well be a superstar in the NFL

There's some Cam in him.

But Jameis is a true, sit down, process information
pocket passer....a very thorough one

For as much of an idiot as he is off the field, Jameis rarely makes bad decisions at QB.

Him and Mariota are actually a lot alike

College systems were much different, and RG3 throws
a *much* better deep ball (RG3's deep ball was top 10
of the last 20 years)

Mariota is thorough though

This appears right above an article discussing his sexual assualt hearing.

http://espn.go.com/college-football/story/_/id/11697064/florida-state-seminoles-look-jameis-winston-autographs

FSU looks into Winston autographs

Even as Florida State coach Jimbo Fisher says he believes quarterback Jameis Winston didn't sign autographs for money, a source tells ESPN that the university's athletic compliance department has begun to look into how so many Winston autographs were authenticated by a single company.

ESPN has learned that after the team's 38-20 win Saturday against Syracuse, Fisher approached Winston and asked him if he signed autographs for money. Winston told Fisher, according to the source, that he did not.

Fisher then told reporters he wasn't concerned that an autograph authentication business, which recently was linked to suspended Georgia running back Todd Gurley, also was linked to Winston.

James Spence Authentication certified more than 500 autographs of Gurley, who is being investigated for allegedly taking money for signings.

A cursory search on JSA's website found more than 340 certified Winston autographs.

FSU has not been contacted on the matter by the ACC or the NCAA, but the university's compliance department has begun to specifically look into how JSA received such a large number of signatures.

The company's owner, James Spence, who could not be immediately reached for this story, previously said that a single person, most likely a dealer, submitted hundreds of items signed by Gurley to Spence's company for authentication.

Fisher had a different take this weekend.

"Kids sign things all the time," Fisher said after Saturday's game. "So what do you want them to do, stop signing stuff? We could make them not have any fans from that standpoint and not sign for anybody. That's what it's going to come to, and that's a shame for college football, that somebody exploits a kid. Now if they're getting paid for it, then I don't have any knowledge of that. I don't believe Jameis did."

Despite Fisher's theory that the items could have come from different fans, it's doubtful they came from more than a few people.

Authenticators certify an autograph by attaching a serial number to an item. That serial number then links back to the authenticator's website, where the owner of that signature or a perspective buyer can look it up.

JSA authenticates items as it receives them and attaches the serial numbers in sequential order. JSA authenticated 76 of the exact same Florida State logo footballs in order with serial numbers J65886 through J65962 and 70 of the exact same signed mini helmets in order with serial numbers J66829 through J66896. The company also authenticated 53 jerseys in a row (J66947 through J67001), 38 11-by-14 photos (J66026 through J66064), 18 of the exact same footballs (J66919 through J66936) and 11 signed Rawlings baseballs (J66898 through J66911).

"The items that I've seen signed by Todd Gurley and Jameis Winston, which have been authenticated by JSA, look like they came from an autograph signing," said Martin Buckley, co-owner of Palm Beach Autographs in Florida, which has done signings with Heisman Trophy winners Tim Tebow, Herschel Walker and Charlie Ward, among others. "This is based on the items themselves being similar, the quantities of those items, the consistency of signature as well as similar spots in which they signed."

Winston already faces an upcoming disciplinary hearing to determine whether he violated the school's conduct code in an alleged sexual assault in December 2012. Fisher said Monday that Winston, who sat out the Clemson game for yelling an obscene phrase in the student union, won't miss any games in the meantime.

"The facts are the facts," Fisher said. "There is no victim because there was no crime."

Not the athletic department but the school itself. Winston has said he'd probably come back but I don't think the school wants anything to do with him. They just want to cut bait.

By bringing all this stuff to the surface Winston's only option will be to enter the draft. Unless he wanted to go the NAIA route because we know those schools DGAF about anything.

Jameis Winston, Chris Rabb point-shaving allegations being investigated by UAB

Amid reports that he was involved in a point-shaving scandal along with friend and former high school teammate Florida State quarterback Jameis Winston, UAB defensive end Chris Rabb did just as he had every other Saturday this fall -- he played ball.

The 6-foot-1, 220-pounder recorded a pair of tackles in reserve duty in the Blazers' 40-24 loss against Louisiana Tech at Legion Field.

Friday afternoon, the university announced it had launched an investigation into claims the Hueytown High School product had placed $5,000 Florida State would trail at the half of its matchup against Louisville last Thursday.

"Sure, 100 percent. We immediately checked on it," UAB head coach Bill Clark said. "I think Rabb was one of the biggest guys that was surprised by the whole thing."

Florida State trailed 21-7 at the break against the Cardinals before, rallying to a 42-31 win on the road to remain undefeated. Winston, last year's Heisman trophy winner, finished with 401 yards passing, three touchdowns and three interceptions.

"I've said this before. I've been coaching for 20-something years and been in this my whole life.," Clark said. "I always say anything can happen with young people but Chris Rabb -- everything we know him -- is a great kid. We've seen it. Some of our coaches talked about it. Whenever a kid has a bad game, immediately, I guess, they think he bet on the game or whatever. I don't know.

Clark said UAB officials immediately contacted both the NCAA and Conference USA's offices about the matter and didn't feel a need to change Rabb's status after looking into it.

"We checked it. Clark said. "He turned over every record he could turn over. So, that's what you do. We immediately turned it all over and said, 'Hey, check on him'. That was a distraction because all our players were giving him a hard time about it because he just doesn't seem like that kind of kid but we felt good about it and so did the NCAA."

Florida State faces Virginia tonight at 6:30 p.m. Winston is expected to start.

101. "bo jackson tries to offer Winston advice. Gets Heisman'ed"
In response to Reply # 0

Bo knows.

But Jameis Winston apparently doesn't care.

>> Where does Florida State rank in CFB 24/7's Top 25 Power Rankings?

The fraternity of Heisman Trophy winners is known to be a close-knit group, one that stays in close touch in many cases, and has even made itself enough of a brand to be the subject of a national advertising campaign. But former Heisman winner Bo Jackson left little doubt that a rift has developed between himself and Winston, the Florida State quarterback who won the award last year. Jackson suggested on The Jim Rome Show Tuesday that Winston blew off the guidance Jackson tried to give him earlier this year.

And the former two-sport star with the Los Angeles Raidersand Kansas City Royals clearly isn't happy about it.

"I really don't know who is giving this young man guidance. I have communicated with him and I just talked to him like I was his dad. The things that you need to do. And this was before the incident where he was (suspended) from the baseball team (for stealing crab legs)," Jackson said. "I'm the type of person, I will go out of my way to help anybody. Normally, I don't like giving people advice if I haven't been down that road myself. But if I give you advice on something that I know more about than you by just falling out of bed in the morning, if you can't take that advice and learn from it, then I've got nothing else to do with the situation. You're on your own."

Pressed about exactly what sort of guidance he gave the Seminoles' third-year sophomore, Jackson wouldn't divulge it, saying it was between he and Winston. But whatever it was, it wasn't delivered gently.

"If I told you what I told him, it'll probably singe the hairs in your ears," said Jackson.

There is little doubt Winston could learn plenty from Jackson, who in his day was every bit the star Winston is, and more. But Jackson was also noted for maintaining a high level of privacy in his life and being very reserved around media. And while he did run afoul of the NCAA in losing his eligibility to play baseball at AU, Jackson was never the lightning rod for trouble that Winston has been.

"I will lend you a hand. And if you take that hand for granted, I will yank it back and go about my business, go on about my life. That's how it is," Jackson said. "Jameis Winston needs to make some changes in his life. Because it's affecting him now and it's definitely going to affect him down the road."
