"If Josh Freeman done? (no disrespect)"

I swear it seems like only black QB's go from regular starter to not being good enough to get a backup job overnight. I'm pretty sure he couldn't be worse that Shaun Hill...

Josh Freeman trying to work on his game without a team

Posted by Darin Gantt on June 16, 2014, 1:39 PM EDT
Josh Freeman
AP
The Giants didn’t waste much time on the Josh Freeman experiment, but the former first-round pick is trying to re-establish himself.

According to Gil Brandt of NFL.com, Freeman will work with Jon Gruden this week and then quarterback guru Terry Shea the following week.

Some remedial work can only help, and keep his name out there in front of NFL teams who might start looking for an extra arm before camp.

Freeman once flashed skills worthy of his draft status, but after landing in Greg Schiano’s doghouse, then barely registering in stints with the Vikings and Giants, he clearly needs to get back on solid footing.

Then again, with the word out of those camps that he struggled with game plans and learning system,s you wonder how much the individual drills will do for him, in terms of finding him a job.

Not really beginning to see a trend since this has always been the primary excuse for discriminating against the black quarterback, but the whole myth that they can't seem to pick up the cerebral nuances of playing the position, is really BS, especially when it is the PRIMARY criticism for black quarterbacks, but RARELY the reason give for white quarterbacks failure to make it in the league (at least not explicitly stated).

We have a lot more qbs in the league than in the past, but the old boy network is still as strong as it ever was. SMH!

peace.

http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/eye-on-football/23935305/josh-freeman-i-have-never-tested-positive-for-any-illegal-drugs

Took and passed 46 different tests

He takes ADHD medication

He's mentally fucked because he was coached by one of the
worst tyrannical fuckheads in the history of sports, a guy
who was 99.9999% white privilege...motherfucker LEAKED THE
STORY about the ADHD meds to the press!!!!

If Freeman is white, the narrative is about how a shithead
coach ruined a perfectly good prospect

Freeman doesn't need any TECHNIQUE help...dude was a polished
MONSTER at 21 fucking years old

He need a STRONG black man in his life, pause

Someone to give him some guidance

Them yella niggas be extra mad, prone to spazzing out

Look at Mariah Carey, thank god she ain't control anything
about her career before she was a hundred millionaire, no
chance she wouldn't have spazzed and drowned in cocaine and
cum

But back to the subject at hand (c) Cormega

We gotta support our yellas

With this Mike Brown shit they are our only hope

Because us darkies have ZERO chance unless we're Idris Alba,
and all your girlfriends wanna sit on his lap because of
that accent mostly, which sorta makes niggas a little lighter
skinned mentally

But back to the subject at hand part deux (c) Cormega

Too bad Dungy is now a pariah, Dungy could have provided
a blueprint for how to be quiet, mad, light skinned and
successful

and a nice lil pay day all things considered
freeman was absolute ass juice in that one game and that signing was probably the last needle on the haystack that got frazier fired
iono what kind of offense they ran in minny but both donovan and freeman struggled to learn it and it was a BAD look for both of them
if you're going be a borderline bum nfl QB you need to be able to pick up offenses QUICK
i think that's why dudes like fitzpatrick and palmer keep getting jobs more than anything
there were black QBs who thrived off the same kind of role (hi rodney peete) but this last crop of bummy black QBs yall caped for were just horrible (freeman/campbell/quincy carter/brooks/joe webb)

wow, 1 WHOLE game? I guess that's James Harris referred to as a "nigger chance". Ponder and Cassell where there all year and looked like ass in Bill Musgrave's offense. I think Frazier was kind of a scapegoat, he had Christian Ponder forced on him by Rick Spielman and when things didn't pan out somebody had to be the scapegoat. By the time Freeman got there it was already a wrap.

that said, the media has a hard-on for blasting him. Peter King devoted a segment each week that not so subtly blamed Freeman for costing his buddy Schiano his job, while going all-Republican about his $5 million Vikings salary (which you know, is Rick Spielman's fault, not Freeman's).

you'll never confuse him for your long term answer at qb, but when he's under center you probably won't be thinking QB is your biggest problem.

So yeah he's probably done, unless he somehow stops sucking.
I was pulling for him but there really isn't any reason why a team wouldn't want to take a flyer on a QB with his specs, unless he's having problems consistently executing the basics.

I TOLD Y'ALL THAT SHIT WASN'T NORMAL.

Usually this is what happens to black QBs that aren't perennial pro bowlers inside of three seasons or don't look like superstars:

The fan base stops copping pleas for the QB eventually because they want a live QB. The coaches get fired because of the losing record or underperformance of personal. The GM either loses his job or under threat of losing his job, drafts a QB to replace the black QB. If the former GM that drafted the black QB is fired then the new GM drafts a QB to replace the black QB. The fan base begins support of a new QB because this guy sucks for reasons that relate to performance but some that relate to personal preference.

To retierate:

Exhibit A: Jason Campbell
Exhibit B: Josh Freeman
Exhibit C: Insert same black QB with the same circumstances

THE ENTIRE FANBASE THAT CALLED ME CRAZY FUCKING LOST. Like I said, black QBs aren't allowed to FUCKING SUCK for years until they get the right coaching staff that believes in them as if the other three coaching staffs didn't believe in them even though they started the QB.

GODDAMN THIS IS A WIN.

and he restructured his contract with years left and took a MASSIVE paycut to avoid getting cut
if it wasn't for that he *might* be out the league right now
jamarcus was in a similar situation and basically got awarded 3 yrs of NFL just off the strength of his rookie contract financials

mediocre as you put it, into legit starters. He had a great season in Oakland until his injury. Name a black QB that got the Alex Smith treatment. <--- THAT'S MY POINT. You can call them mediocre and what not but the facts state that they don't get the chance or plea cops from fans to latch on long enough to justify their draft selection.

42. "the 2011 lockout saved alex smith"
In response to Reply # 19

otherwise he woulda been gone if jim harbaugh, as a rookie coach, hadn't been handicapped with a mere month between the lockout ending and the regular season starting to implement everything.

harbaugh gave smith a playbook and smith conducted "camp alex" during the stoppage.

no free agency... had to salvage.

but... harbaugh suffers from a bigger confirmation bias than most when it comes to qb evaluation. i mean, a bum like colt mccoy got the backup job, while bj daniels got cut, despite outperforming him. pending the game today, a bum like blaine gabbert is probably going to get the backup job, while josh johnson gets bounced (again).

His leadership was so great that his wide receivers threw him under the bus the second he left. I remember Brady Quinn shitting on him in an interview. Matter of fact let's reflect on this experience:

The coaching staff literally
Had to reinvent their entire offense to insure
That he would throw as little as possible to win ..,the dang quarterback

He was carried by incredible defensive performances
Tebow had done great moments but...he sorry

Tebow is one of those situations
You had to actually watch the games
Cause boxscore Bobby'n will have u twisted up

Dude was not that bad in Tampa, and considering he was released by a coach that was a terrible bust and was a reach to begin with, it makes even less sense that he would be considered a lost cause at this point. He never got a fair chance in Minny.

He's damn sure better than Matt Barkley, and has just as much potential as Sanchez. There aren't that many talented qb's in the league.

Tough to say though, because Frazier brought him in to save the day and clearly was dissuaded from that thinking pretty quickly.

It's entirely possible that Freeman just is not that good. He has not put much positive tape on the field since that rookie year.
