The second part of your statement I can feel but that part doesn't sound right to me. Faceup guy with range who can pass from the high post with a banger down low seems like a nice mix to me. On defense Howard can protect the rim while Bosh guards the other team's best big one on one.

And you will know MY JACKET IS GOLD when I lay my vengeance upon thee.

The first rounder is probably Memphis', which is only top 5 protected and could still be lotto.

They have two other first rounders they could toss in to up the ante.

I highly highly highly doubt they are coming off Wiggins.

In fact that might be an offer you could get in a sign-and-trade after next season.

I get that the Cavs wanna keep Wiggins but it seems highly unlikely it gets done without him unless a third team brings a lot to the table.

They want Love, but I think they know that GSW is balking on coughing up Klay, so they have some time to call Minny's bluff, along with three first round draft picks next year that they could keep stacking onto the pile.

Expect Lin trade to happen today and those deals to happen ASAP thereafter. I like the way Houston is looking with Bosh quite a bit. They will have players who can defend every position now, plus bigs who mesh with D12. I would say the expectations with this group have to be right there with the Clippers and OKC.

And you will know MY JACKET IS GOLD when I lay my vengeance upon thee.

The only reason now he would stay in NYC is because of his wife. Because it ain't the money because we can give him his money through a S&T...

Phil Jackson's back is against the wall. Now more than ever the Knicks needs Melo. Given that Kyrie and Love were both targeted by the Knicks to pair up with Melo after next season, this has to give the Knicks brass more incentive to get something for Melo.

Make it happen....

Pau might even follow Melo to Chi if the Lakers would do a sign & trade, but that would have to come after the Lakers make other moves.

If that's the case, I think the Lakers target any two of Ariza+/Lance/IT and bring back Young, Hill, and Bazemore unless they get absurd offers, which isn't unlikely. My guess is they pass on resigning Xavier unless he signs for dirt cheap.

105. "Larry Coon said they need to dump:T-jones/Lin/Asik/Demo"
In response to Reply # 66

Per Coon:

So let's do some math. Suppose Houston dumps Lin & Asik with $0 coming back. They renounce Daniels, Garcia & Hamilton. They waive Casspi
...Beverley, Covington & Powell. They keep QO to Parsons & Capela's draft rights. They have Dwight, Harden, Jones, Motiejunas & Canaan.
..With that configuration, they can give Bosh $16,427,992. Pretty short of his $20,644,400 max.
So let's renounce Capela & Parsons. Cap room rises to $19,279,451. STILL short of a max offer, and they don't have rights to Parsons.
To keep Parsons' rights & still sign Bosh to max, they have to dump another $3,732,744 in guaranteed salary. That's Jones AND Motiejunas.
So to get Bosh at max AND keep Parsons, Daryl Morey just needs to dump Asik, Lin, Jones AND Motiejunas with no salary coming he other way,
...along with throwing overboard everything that's not bolted down.

WHAT'S GOOD *****? What's REALLY good?!?!????!!! Ha HA!

Boozer's expiring deal? Tony Snell?

Even if Phil thinks that the upcoming season is a lost season, he doesn't want any of that. The problem with the s&t scenario is that the Bulls don't have anything the Knicks want, or even willing to accept, outside of Taj or Butler, who the Bulls want to keep.

If the Bulls were willing to part ways with Taj, it'd be a lot more enticing to Phil.

If phil says he doesn't want to sign and trade he can take nothing, but Melo has the leverage, not the knicks.

Dog these are nothing more than accounting numbers, bulls can do a LOT of creative accounting here can we please get off this scenario of the bulls not being able to make this work?

If Melo says I want to go to the Bulls, he can go. Phil doesn't HAVE to agree to ANYTHING.
In fact, all indications are that he WON'T do a sign and trade. He'd rather let Melo walk instead of taking on assets that he doesn't want

>Dog these are nothing more than accounting numbers, bulls can
>do a LOT of creative accounting here can we please get off
>this scenario of the bulls not being able to make this work?
They CAN do that, but it's a matter of what Phil wants to do

The reason it worked for Denver is because the Knicks gave up assets that Denver WANTED.

If Chicago has assets that Phil WANTS, then he'll do it. Otherwise, Melo will have to take a cut to sign there, because (from what's being reported) Phil isn't taking Boozer or most of what Chicago is offering.

Like I said, if the Bulls offered Taj, Phil might do it.

Like I said, you think Phil's gonna do a S&T for ANYTHING that the Bulls offer up? He's gonna want what he wants. And what he wants the Bulls are not gonna give up (most likely Taj)

His ego is the prime reason that the reports in NY are that he WON'T do a sign and trade. He's gonna demand certain pieces or tell the Bulls to kick rocks.

The Bulls are stuck...they can either part ways with what Phil wants to get Melo, or hope Melo takes a pay cut. Phil's got the kind of ego that says let Melo walk.

Like I said in the other post, the reason is worked for Denver is because Melo wanted to go, Denver said give us A-G and the Knicks said bet. In THIS case, if Melo wants to go, the Bulls can't say we'll give you A, B, and C...Phil will be like I WANT A-G. And unless the Bulls are willing to cave, they're stuck.

Phil has more leverage if he knows Melo won't accept that big of a paycut to sign outright.

Of course he's going to play hard ball with us...We are not getting Melo for free...But ONE of the things that Melo made known was he would only come to the Bulls if Taj was still on the team...

AND...like I said. James changes everything now. Melo will most likely face TWO seasons of not winning a championship if he stays with the Knicks. That ain't working in his mind. So, if he really wants his money AND wants to win he forces the Knicks to make that trade and get some good 1st round picks, expiring contracts, money, Jimmy Buckets and our overseas kid/best player in Europe(Niko) who was slated to be a top 4 Lottery pick and keep it moving...Because Feel would be committing franchise malpractice if he doesn't get something for Melo...

Bulls are in the cat seat, homie...We good either way. We can either go after crazy ass Lance in Indy (they have been in contact with his agent. He would be the second ball handler we needed deseparately to help Rose), amnesty Boozer and then get some more offensive help....

Or we can deal with Melo for a sign and trade and then make a move for Pau (that's the big rumor right now...)

But yeah...The Bulls have a winning base and in this crazy free agent frenzy, all it takes is a couple of moves (and not even blockbuster moves) to contend in the weak ass East...

I love how bulls weren't even mentioned a couple days ago, now people falling over themselves to call the bulls still out of it....

Point is bulls pulled out of this lebron shit with a TON of leverage, not only with Melo but with other FA. I fail to see how this hurts the bulls.

Possibly, but do you think Phil cares about that...he'll want (and demand) what he wants. I don't think he'll want that in a package
Plus, is it really that bad to let him walk for nothing rather than take some "junk" from Chicago just to say he got something in return? I'll plead ignorance on the Euro kid, but we got a rack of wing players, so to add Jimmy Buckets seems redundant. And if Melo goes, your picks are low first round

I'm not saying the Bulls are stuck as a franchise. I'm saying in regards to the MELO deal, they can't just offer what they want and make Phil accept. Phil will want what he wants, and it's on Chicago to make that happen

I know the Bulls have a RACK of contingency plans in case this doesn't work out...fuck them though...lol

I mean if we were trading NYC Boozer, u would have a point about junk...In fact, that was one of the early deals on the table for Melo. But we all knew that was a pipe dream...lol

The real trade to made is the Euro kid who would have been a top 4 pick alongside 1st round draft picks (remember, we got some pretty coveted picks) and expiring contracts that would give the Knicks even more moves to do damage next season and a hell of an add on with Jimmy Buckets (if it has to be done, I will miss the kid. But fuck it...)

In other words, the Bulls are not desperate. Our issues have always been very specific...Another ball handler to help with Rose and more shooters...We have been filling up on shooters. Now it's abot finding someone who can score and make plays...

That doesn't hinge on Melo...He would be perfect for the Bulls, but we got other options....

GOAT of his era......long live Prince.....God is alive....

low picks have value. your core guys are all low picks. knicks fans probably think shump, THJ, early, antetokounmpo are "steals", right? well, to get steals you need picks. NY doesn't have any.

if melo's absolutely determined to leave, and phil can get 2 1st rounders out of it, he should jump all over that.

Don’t forget, if #Bulls sign Pau for $5 mil & send Taj’s mil somewhere else, they have $20 mil in cap space for Melo and Knicks get nothing.

The leverage is truly with Chicago, y'all can count on phil to cry foul all he wants on S+T but If Melo wants to jump, don't have any misconceptions that bulls aren't in the drivers seat.

In response to Reply # 83

But then the Lakers swooped in and undercut them. Which seems like it should be the other way around since you'd think the Sixers would be more likely to help Bosh move West.

117. "Morey had to get it done but he still had the Sixers deal in place"
In response to Reply # 83

That's huge leverage for him because if a team is asking for more assets, he can easily say "I'd rather just do the Sixers deal". I'm sure Mitch came in wanting more but he also knows Morey already has a deal in his back-pocket so he had to assess how much he can get and not lose a huge expiring contract + 1st rounder.

even though you knew better i am sure deep down there was a little warren coolidge inside of you that was hoping for a rabbit to pop out of that purple hat.

these are two complete throwaway years for the lakers, which will make (at least) four in a row. but at least this year they got one potential building block in randle, plus they are in good cap shape going forward after this kobe fiasco is over.

And you will know MY JACKET IS GOLD when I lay my vengeance upon thee.

Word is they offered Bosh the max. They could go after Deng, Bledsoe, Lance, or other FAs although the market is thin this year. There are still moves to be made or they tank this year so Cleveland doesn't get their top 10 protected pick and then try to grab people in next year's FA class.

Especially since limping to the playoffs or 9th seed in the East might just end up sending the pick to Cleveland.

Go with the Wade and Beasley show for a year and then try again next year. Not as many top guys next year but a lot of solid players on the market.

Heard on ESPNLA Radio: NY and LAL in talks to S&T Gasol to NYK for Bargnani, Hardaway Jr, pick - Melo wants this deal done and wants to play w/ Pau in NY. Phil didn't want to deal Hardaway. If this doesnt go, Melo could choose CHI (self.nba)

Yeah...I don't think that's going down...lol

And it's a dumb move on Melo's part if in fact true...How does Pau put them over the top?...Pau, who still has some gas left, only puts contending teams over (OKC, Clips, Bulls, SA, Cavs with Bron, ect...)...

But hey, Melo may just take that easy-money route...

Too bad...

If he dealt Love for Dion, Bennett, and picks. Even if all the picks are unprotected. Not sure what they tell Wiggins but he has to be the centerpiece of that deal. Better offers out there.

If it's true that GSW ain't coming off Klay, then I don't know what teams that he'll re-sign with can offer.

(BTW, as much as Waiters drives me nuts, his second year numbers aren't *that* far off of Klay's... just saying. I think Klay is definitely better, but... again, I don't know what else teams can offer.)

In response to Reply # 0

Asking this now because ESPN just had a discussion where PJ Carlissimo basically said the Bulls are a better team right today.

Melo is in a tough place. Give up 54 million for a chance to join an instant contender and potentially cement your legacy as an all time great, or grow old and fat with the Knicks (but make 54 million more dollars). As a Bulls fan I can't be mad if he takes the guap. Not sure what I would do in this situation.

But man, THIS roster looks *much* better than the Cavs roster for (at least) the next year...

Rose (lets say at 80% of previous output)/Kirk or DJ
James Buckets/Snell
Melo/McDermott
Taj/Mirotic (i.e. the best young player in the Euroleage)
Noah/someone more capable than Nazr's corpse
Thibs

In an ideal world, they come into the season with:

Kyrie/Dellavedova
Wiggins/Ray/Felix or Harris
Bron/Mike Miller
Tristan/Powell
Love/goonish free agent (Jason Smith maybe? Big Baby? Gustavo Ayon? Bag of Dildos?)

They just gotta find the right bench guy or two who will sign for less money in hopes of title rings.

I said it's an ideal scenario. If Minny refuses, then Cleveland will likely be content to let them sweat out the possibility of losing Love to free agency.

They can toss Dion, Bennett, and three first rounders onto the table. Maybe, if they're really desperate, the expiring of Varejao too. But Cleveland knows the onus is on Minny to try to find value before Love bounces for free. So they'll offer what they're comfortable offering and then try to find a third team in a tough situation (maybe one that really likes Dion or Bennett) to try to sweeten the pot.

Arguably better than what the Cavs can offer. Butler, Taj, and Mirotic is probably a better combination than what the Cavs can throw out there.

And you're right, in an ideal scenario. But lets not pretend that Love is pushing his agent for a sign and trade to Cleveland.

In response to Reply # 165

As much as I like to shit on Dion, he'll be a 20 PPG guy on a new team, probably as soon as next year (especially in Minnesota, good heavens). Dude scores. (Yes, Butler is better defensively.)

And Bennett has more of the mystical "upside" that GMs love than Taj. So on those two alone... nah, the Bulls package ain't better.

I admittedly know nothing about Mirotic though. But would he come over to America if he was going to Minnesota instead of Chicago? That's generally a threat most of the good Euros dangle out there.

I also think Flip will come to his senses regarding "win now moves" and want a slew of picks, which Cleveland has in the first next year.

But you're right that Chicago has some assets and could make a play if they want. I also don't know what Chicago's cap situation is... but even if they amnesty Booz, I know Rose and Noah make a lot each, and they're still going after Melo. Could they even sign Love if they wanted to a max with all those guys under contract?

That would be great!....Please...By all means keep dangling out Dion, a pick, and that junk to the Wolves...Keep trying to get another team involved thinking some GM wants to help James build another monster...Please let them continue to say no on trading an unproven rookie...

I hope the Cavs do that dumb shit. So the Bulls can swoop on in with a better deal...

The Bulls need to stay tuned to this...I hope the Cavs GM does that silly shit...

A major L for the Rox?

Don't know about that....With the trades they made they still hava chance to do serious things free-agency wise...They will match on Parsons and then go for a Forward that can d up and shoot the 3 to pair with Howard...And they can even get another PG...

Houston woke up finding themselves in the Bosh mix. They never even dreamed that such a move could happen...lol

Now they can rock out and spend their money wisely...

Are you fucking kidding me?

Sure, it's defensible under certain perspectives.

Meanwhile, letting him walk and paying Nash over three years would have given us a clean slate to do whatever the fuck we wanted.

Look, the only guy on the horizon that we should save any money for is KD. An overpaid Lance/Isaiah Thomas would have at least provided a little excitement. But no, we got Lin. Thanks.

Fuck this whole front office. We get what will turn out to be a pick somewhere around 26th and more cap space for people to pass up because we've got a shitty situation. Whoopdeedamndoo.

We got Pau deciding between the Spurs and Bulls, and I'm personally praying it's the Bulls and we at least get Boozer's deal out of it somehow. Actually, is that even possible after the Lin deal? At least that way a full 40 mil comes off the books next year. If we're going for cap space, the more the better.

What the fuck is going on here.

Guess we needed a big but damn. 9 mil? We should have just traded for Asik instead of Lin and let Hill walk.

That's like me watching a few Kentucky games each year and then trying to comment on a player.

J Hill has always had a motor, rebounds well on both ends of the floor, has improved his jumper, has shown an ability to play in the post, and defends the rim. In a market that has seen so many ridiculous deals and has a shortage of big men, I think 9 mill per is the going rate.

I like him. I just don't like him to the tune of 9 mil.

I get that based on the options at hand and the fact that it's only two years, it's not terrible. My biggest issue here is snagging Lin instead of Asik and THEN paying that 9 mil. Asik+Hill isn't a bad starting 4/5 defensively.

they overpaid him for this year to get the flexibility for next year if in fact year 2 is a team option. for now, he is a body that will eat minutes at key positions. for next year, they keep him if he's worth it, dump him if they have better things to do.

i can't say i hate the lakers moves, again it just highlights the awful position they are in. they look like a b-grade dallas mavs right now. but dallas has managed to shoot for the middle, hit it, make a few bucks and not get tied down in the process. that seems to be the lakers' strategy.

And you will know MY JACKET IS GOLD when I lay my vengeance upon thee.

Conflicting reports on whether it's a signing or a sign and trade. Ken Berger is saying "The Kings will get an approximately $7 million trade exception and the draft rights to Alex Oriakhi, league source says."

Either way, he's getting 4 years, 28 million.

You can't have enough quality guards. Zeke can start or be a heat up guy. Bledsoe has durability concerns. They have money to spend. This is a very fair contract IMO, and they get it for fuck nothing. Cap space and the No. 57 overall pick. If true, I love the deal for Phoenix.

Pop used to play Manu/George Hill/Tony regularly b/c Hill/Manu were able to check big guards & wing players not named Bron/Melo (Pop still plays Manu/Patty/Tony together during small ball). On the other hand, Bledsoe/Dragic/Isaiah can't check wing players thus it going to be difficult to play them together.

off the bench consistently...and that was in a slower paced system. They got a young front-court, but they should be able to hang with most teams with all the PF shooting 3s and shit. They were already good and now you add Zeke on the cheap. That's a win.

Houston could have used him though. Sure, that back-court would give up 40 a night, but they're get you back 50 or so and get the whole opposing team in foul trouble.

Mcrobs & Granger aren't necessarily series-changing
additions to a team, but they do bolster the lineup.
With #Kang gone, Miami could bring in a big gun to pair
with Bosh & Wade, which would certainly make the respectable
at least, and perhaps even a top 3 team in the East.

Will be very interesting to see if Wade can turn back the clock
and lead again after coasting on cruise control for 3 years.

..not a bad move on his part, considering his age & health concerns. its not just the $$$, he wants the years and that's not happening in LA.

still, i've said all along that anything more than $10 mil per would be too much for his services at this point.

hopefully, LA can work out out a sign & trade and get something out of this.

Anthony Randolph + Dunleavy and a future pick from Sac that can potentially turn into a mid-first will probably be dangled.

And that pick should prove useful eventually.

Should free up about 5 mil to pay Pau.

But if Melo stays in NY Dunny becomes useful to the Bulls. I dunno...

I would consider it if I were Miami. You've got teams who have cleared the space and want him, why not? I don't think I would want him as the centerpiece of my team unless there were some other very good options to acquire as well. That doesn't seem to be the case.

The only teams that were willing to give him the max were the Rockets/Mavs but both teams don't have the assets for a sign-&-trade. The rest of the squads stacked w/ assets aren't touching max money Bosh. Rupaul is going to be Riley problem just like Rashard was Otis Smith problem & Joe Johnson was Danny Ferry's problem. Prokhorov isn't going to bail him out since he mortgaged the Nets entire future for Joe Cool/KG/Pierce.

I know this wasnt the reason but I love that teh reports were that Bosh waas talking to Mchale, then 45 min later he turns the Rockets down.

Fuckin Mchale.

Still you cant match parsons for 15 without a max level guy coming in. Gotta just sit on that cap space at this point.

Rather than the D'Antoni 1-4 special where it was Dwight isolated on the block with everyone else spacing. Once we began using the horns with Pau staying at the high post and Dwight flashing to the paint, they began playing very well together. Too bad it was already the last month before D'Antoni and co. figured that out lol.

It's going to be nothing but Harden pounding the air out of the ball every time down the floor sprinkled w/ Dwight/Harden PnRs. Pau would be camped at the corner occasionally jackin' up 3s....which is one of the reason why Bosh would have been a good fit.

That deal makes 0 sense without a 3rd player in front of parsons.
Let him go and let Parsons 15 mil be dallas' problem.

Go back to playing the medium/long game. Look for love/durant etc with your cap space.

Chandler shuts all of that down and makes us a 5th seed at best for the next 3 years

when DHo came it wasn't supposed to be some long term rebuild, they need to start getting out the 1st round stat

Muy biggest critique of Morey all along has been overtrading and not letting things grow organically. Overtrading and now he got caught in a pickle. he better not match that deal without someone coming in before parsons

In response to Reply # 0

Seems like Melo is holding up whether or not Pau is going to sign w/ the Bulls. Paxson isn't going to amnesty Boozer if Melo isn't coming to town since he doesn't think it worth pay Boozer off the books for a minute upgrade. Basically, the Bulls are notoriously cheap & have always been thus Pau might sign w/ the Spurs if Melo stay w/ the Knicks.

http://newsok.com/article/4988089

On Friday afternoon, Pau Gasol tweeted that he was ‘very close to making a decision’. Then, a few hours later, two reports surfaced that Gasol had narrowed his choices down to a pair of teams — the Chicago Bulls and San Antonio Spurs.

Bulls don't mind amnestying Boozer...Only if we are getting Melo...Or a player that has a real impact...

The cheap tag on the Bulls has nothing to do with this. We want to make sure we can get use Boozer's worth either way via amnesty or trade...

Anyway, it seems that while we we are in the running for Melo the Bulls are ready to turn that page...

Former Bulls forward Andres Nocioni has agreed to a two-year contract with Real Madrid.
He'll fill a need at the forward position left by the departure of PF Nikola Mirotic, who is close to signing his first NBA contract with the Bulls. Nocioni hasn't played in the NBA since 2011-12 and it's safe to assume we won't see him in uniform in the U.S. again.

Carmelo Anthony will soon accept a five-year, $129 million contract from the Knicks, according to Adrian Wojnarowski.
Frank Isola reported that Melo would stay in New York earlier in the week, and once Pau Gasol signed with Chicago it was a near certainty. Melo and the Knicks may struggle during the 2014-15 season but they're poised to be major players in free agency next summer. From a fantasy perspective, Anthony is in a perfect situation as the lead gunner on a team in need of reliable scoring, and he should benefit from the Knicks' acquisition of Jose Calderon for Raymond Felton.

on that ESPN ticker that Pau and the Bulls are having issues getting a deal together....And SA may just swoop in at the last minute...

I was never totally behind this move in the first place (I like Pau, but that's too many forwards...someone would have to go...We would potentially lose our muscle if we can't trade away Boozer to LA and Taj has to be part of that deal...)

We need to go full on at Psycho Lance and then try to trade for Love....Cleveland are talking about how they won't trade Wiggins...Bulls need to just offer a better deal...We got the pieces. It's time to fucking around...

The Bulls can't make deals and say we're only willing to give up x player. Other teams will say take a walk. The Bulls don't want to part ways with Taj and they also don't want to amnesty Boozer (from what I've read, they'd rather let him expire). So to say take Boozer in any deal might not be nearly enough to get shit done. If the Bulls want to get a certain player, they gotta be able to part ways with people they might not want to do that with.

Since Melo resigned, I agree to go full on with Lance. I actually think Pau works well with the Bulls, because the Bulls are a predominant half court team. The problem is that Pau's not a guy that will carry a scoring load (which is what Melo provides, and which is what Rose needs), so even WITH Pau, you would probably need one more reliable scorer. Doesn't have to be a superstar, or even an all-star, but a 3rd option that you can get 15-17 pts from (maybe Jimmy Buckets turns into that, maybe the Euro is that, who knows)

That's not what's happening here. We wanted to give LA Boozer for Pau to get more money for Melo. Now that Melo is out of play, we know longer need to go that route...We can sign Lance straight up and amnesty Booz. And we can trade for Love. If it takes losing Taj, then so be it...Anyone saying they wouldn't trade Taj for Love is a fucking idiot...

Everything changes now...It's really about Gar/Pax getting the job done...Now am I optimistic in the Bulls' front office when it comes to free agency? Nah...

But Lance is a much cheaper alternative than Melo. But he really only works if we can get our hands on Love...

We will see...

We need to pass on that...I read we were offering them Boozer so we could have money left over for Melo, but they gave us the side-eye...Then when Melo started looking very unlikely we offered the deal Dunleavy, ect. But I had no idea they wanted a pick included...

Anthony Morrow has agreed to a three-year, $10 million deal with the Thunder, according to beat writer Darnell Mayberry.
Morrow gives them OKC a bona fide sniper who made 45.1 percent of his 3-pointers last season. Fully one-third of his offensive usage came on spot-up jumpers, so he should fare well alongside Russell Westbrook and Kevin Durant. It remains to be seen whether he'll overtake Jeremy Lamb for the starting SG job, and it's a position battle worth watching in the preseason.

With a 4-year, $32M agreement for free agent Trevor Ariza, Houston could still match offer sheet for Chandler Parsons, source tells Yahoo.

Well see I wouldnt be mad at that. Itd basically be replacing Jeremy with Trevor off the bench.

Gives us lots of flexibility to hide Harden on D more or just take his ass off the court when he isnt playing.

You can run a small lineup against a few teams with parsons at the stretch 4.

If anything Id do it just so Cuban gets stuck without Ariza and CP

Atthis point Parsons doesnt matter anymore vs the cap. WHy not just pay him if Les is willing? just gives Morey what he wants most--more assets. Plus a nice middl efinger parting to Cuban.

Also The rockets still have some trade exceptions to fill out the roster with backups. Including a needed backup C like youve highlighted.

So let me get this straight....We amnestying Booz to sign...Pau????

Break it down...Does that mean we can no longer get the creator we really needed?

If so, this off season is a bust....

amnestying boozer on its own didn't open up this huge amount of cap space, dogg. that was a misconception. only about 10M or so. to sign carmelo outright, they would've had to do that plus a couple other things, which was why S&T was always the only realistic option there.

>Break it down...Does that mean we can no longer get the
>creator we really needed?

who, dogg? lance? couldn't afford him. he looking for parsons / hayward money.

beyond him, who?

>If so, this off season is a bust....

for a lot of fans it was melo-or-bust anyway. they're going to be a really good team. why be miserable?

I can take solace in the fact that someone else will match Lance....And it won't be Indy...That will only weaken Indy and help us this season...

But yeah...It ain't about being miserable. It's about having that familiar eerie feeling in the pit of your stomach as a Bulls fan. We just signed another aging PF, dog. Another aging player that will give many flashes of those Boozer/Rip Hamilton signings...

I never thought it was Melo or bust...But old man Pau???

Man...I'm going to let u be optimistic for me...because I want us to be more than just a really good team....

So Brian Windhorst is saying that the Bulls have to make some more moves to sign Pau straight up...We are trying to find takers for Boozer to create more space but we all know that ain't happening...lol

So now we are amnestying Boozer, an aging PF, just for the chance to sign another aging PF?

And we still have to clear room to sign the Euro kid?

This is why it's a tough staying optimistic as a Bulls fan...We have a team that is literally one piece away from truly contending for a title...And our bold move is to sign a 34-35 year old PF...Great...

Hopefully, there's another move to be made. But as is, I'm just going to keep it moving and hope that another team snatches up Lance to weaken Indy.

Yeah...

the whole team did to be fair
i know it was rumored he was pretty much preserving himself for this offseason
are there any questions about the trajectory of his career at this point
even if he is only 70-80% of his prime at this point that would be a good signing for the bulls imo
interesting that pau isn't getting that much more money compared to the lakers offer, he basically wanted out regardless it seems

just checked the statline and it looks deceptively good
also i'm not sure health issues is a good plea cop for a 34 yr old
anyway good signing for the bulls if he really was half trying out there

I dunno if it's because you're too dense to realize that Kupchak doesn't want to sacrifice the max slot for next summer or if it's something else.

Have fun with that Houston team which will win as many rings as the Lakers in the near future.

Why do you think we gave Hill a little extra money for next year in order to give him essentially a one year deal? Why do you think we haven't put any offers in on any RFA's? For whatever reason you're still really pressed to act like a little girl toward a 36 year old injured superstar, but you should be more concerned about your GM giving away assets in order to lure a player who in return turns down a 4 year max and championship contention for your squad.

You mean the guy who is going to retire as a Celtic and in the twilight of his career doesn't want to go to a rebuilding Lakers team where he would only be offered a one year contract ? Good grief, you are dense.

Spencer Hawes got the full MLE and went to play for a good team...again, I'm shocked. Of course you "don't care" about Bosh...none of that fits with your stupid narrative and you're making my point for me. Like Bosh, other players want to get their money and/or win. You aren't getting either with the Lakers so why would players want to come right now? As I said before, I don't know why you're so pressed to keep thinking about Kobe...even when the team is irrelevant, you're going around talking like an insecure schoolgirl.
