Seem like selling insanely low on Afflalo. I guess Rob Hennigan is a big fan of Fournier. I'm not sure why clearing cap space would be such a big issue since they already have a lot of it and if they don't have Afflalo then what kind of Win Now scenario are they cooking up?
I heard they made an offer to Cleveland that had Afflalo and their lotto pick for the #1 overall (and maybe another player)...that to me made a lot more sense
They could've gotten more for Afflalo than Fournier and a 2nd rounder...doesn't make a lot of sense
-The Knicks’ coaching search still includes a lone frontrunner, Kurt Rambis, whose qualifications for the position include a strong relationship with Jackson and a willingness to take the job.

I guess I should be excited because this means that Orlando is out of trading up for 1, since the Sixers deal would be better (3 and 10 > 4 and 12). But the deal makes so little sense on the surface, that I feel like I am missing something and the other shoe has yet to drop.

I get not the idea of getting overpaid guys for cheap, but a 28 year old with a fair cap # who plays defense, averages 20 ppg and hit's 3's... wtf... how did nobody else in the nba offer more? How did the Bulls not do this?

They offered their 24th pick and Gerald Henderson. Charlotte media was saying they may have been willing to offer 9th pick straight up. I guess Orl didn't want to trade within division.

I'm assuming they are going to draft a point guard & move Dipo permanently to Shooting Guard. Thus, Affalo would have to play SF or come off the bench. They already have a couple of guys that can play SF for cheap (Harris/Harkless) & they probably don't want to give him a fat contract to come off the bench (Fournier can be a decent 6th man for cheap).
It’s not like they were on track to make any serious noise this coming season anyways, so this is most likely a calculated risk to enable potentially bigger moves with relatively little downside.

... but apparently management knows more than the public. My buddy who's a big Magic fan is liking the move and the direction they're headed. Feels like they're trying to be a mini spurs of some sort.
