"Pierce and KG: Proof that God takes care of haters"

MMMMM HMMMM.

Has any player ever talked more about another player than KG and Peezy do about Lebron?

And has anyone ever flipped the script and punished the haters with progressively greater righteous smiting than the KANG?

Remember when these dudes were jawing at Wade during games, telling him he picked the wrong guy? Three years later, Wade got three, Ray Allen got two, and those are running totals.

KG and Peezy got one, forever and ever, amen.

And yet they STILL TALK.

Why did Peezy ask for that assignment? Wasn't 2012 Game 6 enough? Didn't he learn his lesson that he fat and slow? Shouldn't he have figured out that he's now old too?

Peezy couldn't do that. Because #dathate is powerful, and #dathate is the defining feature of his career. Not the one...measly...ring he has. Not them points. Not even getting stabbed like a punk. Peezy's lasting legacy will be picking a fight with a dude he, on his best day, wasn't half as good as. He can't help himself, because once you start down the dark path, forever will it dominate your destiny.

Kang was happy though. He's a generous, benevolent Kang, not prone to sticking a foot up the ass of the elderly, particularly when they've never even seen his level. But rocks at the throne and such.

It's only the Boston bias of the white media that keeps this from getting the attention it deserves, btw. Really white people love Boston, due to its incredibly effective marketing and government efforts to minimize the nonwhite presence more than any other city. So when people do things in Boston, even if it's as ridiculous as Paul Pierce rocking that Melo babyfat for his entire career or KG's schtick, they'll generally let it go, because Boston uber alles and all.

A truly unbiased media would talk about how increasingly silly KG and Peezy look speaking as if the Kang is or ever has been a rival, rather than they just vassals like everybody else. Bron gets the VIP treatment at the HOF and pops bottles with Wilt. These dudes are general admission waiting in line with Clyde Drexler at the bar

Incidentally, really white people love Chicago for the same reason, just not quite as much, because not as many white people go to college there and because the Midwest is boring. Chicago does its best to fight that boredom, but there's only so much you can do.

Pierce and KG are just old now. And they've been old for a while. Nothing wrong with that.

In response to Reply # 1

and that's with Peezy doing absolutely no scoring against Bron, because he can't hang. Bron reduced him to a role player, a specialist, while Bron just keeps being Bron.

Put another way, three of Bron's 10 (maybe even 5) best playoff performances have come with the so-called Bron Stopper on him. so how in the world do we think of Peezy as anything more than another speedbump Bron powers over?

But Truth is still one of the best players of all time. The age difference is just too much right now. Pierce isn't even as good as Joe Johnson.

But, I'd go with Pierce when talking solely from an offensive versatility standpoint.

I was only speaking in terms of scoring. Offensively,
there's no debate to be had in terms of aggregate

with the celtics. Bird was putting up .500 as a FG% for his career with the celtics. he was transcendently talented. Pierce is an amazing scorer, but Bird is better, even as a scorer.

40% from 3
90% from the line

I'm gonna have to re-start a Bird agenda
because people are being ridiculous

Bird's PRIME is closer to Jordan's than people
tend to admit

He was an absolute GOD

I thought it was common knowledge that
as far as offensive balance goes he was better than
anyone, even Jordan.

yea you're probably right. I mean, I said PP "may" be
because you do have to acknowledge that he did in fact
surpass Bird as an all-time scorer...There's no doubt
Bird is the better player in virtually every facet
of the game...but if there's one place Paul could compete,
it's in getting buckets - clutch buckets, too.

No, he's not.

Bird might be the biggest triple threat in the history of

part.

It's mentioned during games.

Shit even Hondo said as much.

http://probasketballtalk.nbcsports.com/2013/09/08/john-havlicek-says-paul-pierce-is-the-best-one-on-one-player-of-all-celtics/

I think you're confusing the points.

But that's okay.

It's like Kobe is a better offensively skilled player than MJ.

MJ better.

But Kobe is a better ball handler, passer, and shooter from range.

MJ's better though.

Kobe has a broader offensive skillset than Jordan, but MJ's offensive skill level outstrips Kobe's. To me that indicates MJ is the greater offensively skilled player. Somewhat similar to the Bird/Pierce comparison. Maybe it's just a matter of semantics here though.

cause one of those games eventually led to this:

pierce also had a career game that night with bron guarding, just saying.

also, who really thought the nets were more than a speedbump? did people pick them in this series? (and don't point me to an OKP post with 2 idiots, i want numbers).

Heat vs Celtics was always too much of a conundrum, lesser-evil calculation-wise. Now I get the assholes playing for my town, and get to leave the Boston baggage at the door.

Weirdest shit was a Knick fan at the bar last night getting outright affectionate for Lebron due to Nets hate. "THERE YOU GO BRON BRON!" I was like bro whaaaaat. He was like Bronx all day I was like aight.

Knicks fans by default HAD to hate Bron after the Decision, forever and ever. I would think a slight majority begrudgingly root for the Nets on the low.

Its a perfectly good rivalry between 3 first ballot hall of famers, all
winners, one of whom is the most gifted basketball talent since
Wilt

I mean, I thought the problem was that players were too friendly.
Like, rivals practicing WITH each other in the off season?

There is nothing to complain about here.

Both are HOF. Peezy is lower level HOF, but KG's a legit top 30 guy all time. Nuff respect due.

However, those dudes crossed the line from healthy competition to disrespect and hatred a long time ago. It's very clear the move to Brooklyn was motivated but little more than a foolish desire to stick it to Bron.

Besides, they're corny.

No, they went to Brooklyn because the Celtics were rebuilding and
Prokarvovovovovvo was willing to overpay

Has nothing to do with Lebron

Has to do with guaranteed paper on a team that looked to be good,
and would be if they didn't lose their BEST player early in the season

The inability to produce a team built
for playoff success is why Lebron left.

KG & Pierce are no more "fathers" to Lebron's
success than Isiah & company were to Jordan's.
They were just temporary road blocks that made
him better/hungrier.

And I would show them more respect if they showed
Lebron some respect. But they've been on this
irrational hate train for years and it's now
coming back to slap them in the face, just as
Isiah's silly hatred for Jordan slapped him
in the face and continues to haunt him to this day.

And yes, I'm enjoying it.

>KG & Pierce are no more "fathers" to Lebron's

They WERE fathers to Jordan's winning style

Their team concept, their defensive prowess, their
mean streak...those Bulls teams transformed from
finesse to grind-it-out right after those Pistons

AND if you notice his scoring dropped right around
then...no more 37/game shit, the Pistons were masters
of the team ball, team defense, the concept that the
Bulls dynasty was really built around

Not to mention them getting RODMAN for the second
triple

All the great ones need to learn their lesson

Zeke had a much better mean streak than Jordan, was
much more heartless....Jordan had to learn that

Pierce and KG had a cold-bloodedness that Lebron didn't
have

And Lebron was ABSOLUTELY jealous of the Pierce/KG/Ray Allen
trio

In response to Reply # 31

It was great for Jordan to have go through
Zeke and those teams - because it made him
and his team better. Just like it was great
for Lebron to go through those Boston teams -
but that singular championship team didn't
*make* Lebron - they threw gas on the flames
because they really didn't think it would burn.

Zeke never accepted Jordan as the heir apparent -
protested against him on the all-star team, was
very expressive about his disdain and disbelief
in Jordan as the next Great...same thing w/ Pierce
& KG. They epitomized the "Lebron is soft and
scared and he'll never win a ring" argument. They
really fueled that narrative because they didn't
think Lebron would burn like he's been burning.

And if they are the respective "fathers" - then
it would make sense why they are so bitter -- their
sons (who they hated) out achieved anything they did, exponentially.

Hell hath no wrath like a Kang-Son scorched.

Prior to last night, his scoring was down
throughout the playoffs, and overall production
hadn't yet gone into overdrive...but last night
he clearly was looking for his shot - and his
usage rate was the highest it's been in 2 years.

So it's not crazy to think that his fires were
peaking after hearing of Pierce wanting the
defensive assignment.

Kang Gerald Wilkins'd him - and he has to eat it.

All we do is whine about how much BETTER it was when
Jordan and Bird and them wanted to fucking gash each
other back in the day (yes, it was better that way)
rather than today when Paul George is talking about
working out with Lebron in the summer DURING THE
FUCKING season (pathetic)

These dudes do NOT care about beating each other the
way Magic and nem did

And now we have some semblance of that and we're CRYING
about how Pierce and them are "hater?!?!" LMAOOOO

No, they punted Lebron's shitty Cavs teams out the playoffs
and MADE HIM go to a team with two other hall of famers

Their boy defected to run with him...its some 80s era competitive
shit and its wonderful

Interesting, because that's the same thing Pierce did. Team up with
two other hall of famers.

I like the rivalry - it makes it that much more entertaining to watch....that said, Truth and others are mad because Bron is dominating the rivalry and pulling out stunts to try and mitigate
damage.

So, honor the spirit of the rivalry - just don't get salty when it doesn't go your way.

that's the formula for virtually every dynasty in
the modern era -- but for Kang detractors, he's not
afforded that same right to play with a championship
caliber team without getting criticized.

>pierce re-signed with the celtics and asked not to be traded
>even though they were sorry as fuck. he survived the shitty
>rebuilding and got rewarded with real teammates. he didn't do
>shit to get them onto the team, and he didn't leave anywhere
>to get them as teammates. entirely different.

Bron didn't want to wait 11 years for nothing to happen, like
KG did. He took destiny in his own hands and was the architect
- and shouldn't be penalized for it.

If KG had to do it over...he would have left Minnesota after 7, too.

that's why the shit looks like hating even if they are sincere
bron done moved on from the KG/PP and Bulls "rivalries"
the sooner those players realize it the better
he's unquestionably better than all them and has more rings to boot
niggas looking like a shell of themselves, flagrant fouling, and talking shit to the media is larry holmes flabby and fat status
torch done been passed YEARS ago. this shit is barely competitive much less a rivalry lol.

and PG and Durant trying be Bron best friend in the offseason is just a sign of respect for someone they aspire to be like
ain't bron fault niggas look up to him like that and he only 28 and in his prime
Pierce probably mad PG ain't holla at him when they both from LA. o well

rivalries are fun. just let them play out. it's 1000x more entertaining when teams hate each other.

and as i keep saying every time this KG-Ray shit comes up: a) sure it might be a little petty, but did you expect different from intense-all-day KG? b) KG and Ray will be friends in retirement, and that's all that matters.

In response to Reply # 0

like if bron had help, like any help at all, garnett and pierce would still be forever-losers. respect to them and all....but he took em 7 in a close game.

as a cavalier.

with delonte west.

shit, ray allen and kendrick perkins are ghosts of what they were 5 years ago and they both still contribute to contenders.

bron went and got help so he could win and that's a knock. lol.

ESPECIALLY if it was a foul that went uncalled, and they gave it to miami. i want these two goofballs to be as bitter as possible for the rest of their lives.

Peezy can play 15 minutes a night, carry Bron's bags, and collect a few more rings.

KG can play bingo at the senior citizens home.
