"Poll question: What NBA MVP scenario make you more mad"

I'm assuming that this won't be like Rose winning over Bron since KD has been better statistically than Bron and had that stretch of play without Westbrook. But Bron is still the best player in the game so I'd expect there to be some dissent for those fans who think MVP equals best in game. And if you don't care, why not? This was actually a dope MVP race year. I can't remember a time where the two best players in the league were actually neck and neck because of their play and not some story used to make sure the best player didn't win again. I'm really just bored with the reg season and ready for the playoffs.

Poll result (21 votes)
KD winning over Bron (1 votes)Vote
Bron winning over KD (11 votes)Vote
I don't give fuck either way (9 votes)Vote

durant's going to win, but if he didn't i would feel that he got robbed.

the nba mvp isn't the 'best player' award. despite some assertions to the contrary, it never has been. if it were, then wilt would have 10, kareem would have 10 and jordan would have 10.

lebron isn't going to get it every year by default. there are going to be years that other guys deserve it. this is one of them.

durant has better individual numbers and his team's won more games in a much tougher conference. i don't even understand what the pro-lebron argument is.

People are so used to saying LeBron is the best thing since sliced pastrami it's hard for them to conceive anyone else could win an award vs him.

Like Rose's year or Malone in 97(?). Was trying to figure out whether this would be one of those years but it doesn't look like it will and I'm happy about that.

If the roles were reversed & Bron went on a 41 game tear of 25 ppg plus had the better record you mofos wouldn't even CONSIDER KD for MVP..

The best player in the league is always going to be a consideration for the mvp as long as their is no set definition for the award.

because he's clearly not. KD is the MVP & I don't think it's anywhere near as close as people are trying to make it. This is more about folx being a little uncomfortable that it's not LeBron.

believe the MVP should go to the best player in the league. Since their is no clear definition for the award, their opinion is legit. I'm not arguing that point of view, just saying it exists.

As long as Lebron is considered the best player, he's gonna be a top MVP vote getter unless he has a hugely disappointing year

that thought he should have won, because he was the best player in the league. That's the point - MVP awards are always going to have voters that define the award differently...from who had the best season, to who is the best player, to whose team would be the worst without them (therefore indicating "valuable").

You are basically making my argument for me. Again i'm not saying this is my point of view. I'm saying that the point of view exists by a decent portion of voters and the public.

he actually came in 3rd in two of those years and wasn't particularly close in a couple other.

I'm actually not.

of course it exists, but it's not a significant enough portion to affect the outcome of the vote.

bron will get his share of votes but durant will win MVP and it won't be quite as close as some of y'all seem to think it's gonna be.

so again yes, you are agreeing with my point. Some voters hold that point of view and will always vote for who they think the best player is. Lebron is going to get #1 mvp votes on that reason alone.

I never said it would be close. I said some voters will vote lbj #1 bc they think he's the best player in the league.

durant's even caught up to him in scoring efficiency (.640 TS% to lebron's .650) which was the one area earlier in the season where bron had a decided advantage.

i'd even argue that durant's been the better overall defender this year. people who've been paying attention know that he's made some pretty huge strides on that end while bron has tapered off a smidge, as have the heat in general.

They're still very capable of winning the title this season but they're 10-11 in their last 21 games.. Compare that to a 27 game win streak around the same time last year which I think was the peak.

Without a roster move or 2 to shakeup that squad their run as the clear frontrunners ends this season.

Malone clearly had an outstanding season statistically
that year - and the Jazz had a tremendous regular season.
There was some controversy that year because the sense
was that it was ludicrous for anyone to win MVP over
Jordan at that point...Bob Ryan even said "as long as
MJ is playing, he's MVP."

Malone deserved it that year, but nobody actually thought
he was better than Jordan.

KD's numbers and OKC's record validates him winning MVP.
If Miami had the best record in the league I'd say Bron
should get it because he's had to perform without Wade -
but KD has had to perform w/ out WestBrook and has led
his team to a better record in a tougher conference.

That said, we all know who the best player in the world is.

The bulls still had the better record, mike lead the league in scoring again and Malone didn't play without Stockton for 27 games.
