That's the phillies record in the last 162 games that Ryan Howard has played. As long as he is healthy the phillies have a shot.

Just in the last two regular seasons, the Phillies are 80-71 when Howard plays.

They went 2-3 with him in the 2011 playoffs.

The Phillies were 4-2 in their last 6 regular season games of 2011 and 8-3 in their last 11.

So, when I look at it, the team is 86-76 including the 2011 playoffs and 88-74 in his last 162 regular season games.

Of course, the larger question is what weight that has as predictive value?

The larger answer is none.

I heard it on sports talk didn't look into if it was accurate but figured it was. Either way Ryan Howard makes the lineup stronger and the phillies a better team.

.244/.307/.445 over the last two seasons at 1B is not a good look. He can still hit RHP pretty well though. Maybe he can platoon. It's not like he's gaurunteed $75 million over the next 3 seasons.

He also wasn't really healthy the last two years. I want to see what he does when he is healthy this year, he also lost weight and is looking good he is the key to our season for good or bad.
