Wilson is just so cold, man. His performance today, he misses the tight end on the first pass and that was it for nerves. He made maybe two or three throws that could be critiqued at all, and at least one of them was caught. Even after the game, he was pleased but extremely calm.

He is really strong playing with a lead and getting better in all situations. I don't know about the Brady of this decade but I would bet heavily on his winning another one in his career, obviously.

And you will know MY JACKET IS GOLD when I lay my vengeance upon thee.

nevermind. I love those dudes and I can't get comfortable with the idea that it is just them doing it. It took me until 2 hours before kickoff to pick Seattle to win the game, so I can't cite 'told you so all along' brilliance. But it felt great to watch a team with several of my favorite players actually put it together on the biggest stage. I damn near lost my voice screaming at Percy. That mofo looked 'damn!' fast every time he got the ball.

In terms of their holistic approach to player's health and well-being. Both of them utilize science and holistic focused structures in order to have their players in the best physical AND mental capacities. It's a mindset that is very dear and compelling to me personally, and I'm hoping it's utilization in the NFL will lead to it being popularized, accepted and utilized far moreso than it currently is. This holistic approach is a major reason I decided to leave my MBA-track career and get into physical therapy.

I've heard of folks choosing a DO school over an MD school b/c of "the holistic approach" but folk jumping ship from an MBA track to a medical education over the teaching philosophy is unheard of to me. They are polar opposites of each other so I would assume one would already be aware of what's in store for them if they get to a masters level education.

WHAT'S GOOD *****? What's REALLY good?!?!????!!! Ha HA!

Russell will never be a consistent 380 yard passer in the mold of Brady as far as the NFL pundits are concerned. He'll never have the respect of the league as far as Brady goes. It would take another super bowl victory with him throwing four touchdowns with a 110 QB rating.

His 3rd down efficiency probably puts him in a strong light. The thing about Brady..he wasn't a big stats guy when he was actually winning Super Bowls. He was a 'make three man-up throws when it was needed the most to win the game' QB. Ever since he's become fantasy football great, he's oafer.

Brady wasn't putting up crazy insane post PI change numbers, but he was leading the league in TDs and being top 5 in pass attempts and top 10 in pass yards, and in long passes and just look up the leaders. then the rules changed, and every passing based record got broken multiple times, so having 28 TDs (woulda been top3 or 4 every season before 2007) no longer seems impressive. but in its time, it was.

(I like Wilson. I'd be cool with him being the 2010 brady, as long as he doesn't block brady from winning one more SB)

passing numbers are stupid inflated post 2004. Brady was in the top 10 in passing yards in 2002 and 2003 (only 3 or 4 QBs topped 250 those seasons). context matters.

Just keep that talent around him and a stable organization, which SHOULD happen, and I definitely see him wining multiple Super Bowls.

He's just such a smart competitor, physical limitations be damned.

Also Brady and them were cheating like shit.

able to continually replace those guys and have enough talent on deck to prevent any one key departure from crippling the team.

i mean, think about it. they need a dynamic receiver. like an unquestionable #1 guy. OR, as the eagles tried to do, a matchup nightmare TE. but the thing is, with that defense, they made it work with the cats they had on offense. what happens when they upgrade?

on defense, they got mad pieces.

all those guys they got deep in the draft but holding down starting spots. they can afford to pick last and, even if they only get quality depth next year, they are ahead of the game.

peace & blessings,

x.

as smuts pointed out, nobody keeps drafting that well.

second, much of that drafting success was because others in the league weren't drafting press corners because of the PI rules. Seattle did, and now other teams will be looking for that type of secondary player. so they won't drop to the fifth round as frequently.

third, part of how they're doing this is due to not having big money at the big money positions (coughQBcough) and that'll no longer be true in a couple years. there are a lot of guys near the end of their rookie contracts who will make a lot more money if they become FAs (Earl Thomas, Sherman, Wagner, Smith, etc.). they had a next man up situation because they didn't have that much money tied up.

not saying they can't, but there's a lot of decisions where they could get it wrong over the next 2-3 years.

>as smuts pointed out, nobody keeps drafting that well.

I think Pete's recent college experience helps, he knows a lot more of about these guys than the average NFL coach because he's scouted and recruited a lot of them, especially those from out West. We'll see if after being back in the NFL for a few years now if that advantage is diminished.

Sherman was considered a developmental project coming out. They got Browner from the CFL. The leave-no-stone-unturned approach that is common with college recruiting seems to be working in Pete's favor in Seattle.

Have we decided to collectively pretend that they Pete drafted all the impact players on this team?

Earl Thomas he inherited

But most importantly, everything with this team starts up front:

He inherited Brandon Mebane from Jim Mora jr. and had the wisdom to play Red Bryant at end on run downs which was a major tactical shift that I give Pete props for...but he didn't draft none of these guys.

Chris Clemons- Free Agent signee/high profile pickup

Cliff Avril- Traded from Eagles

Michael Bennett- Free Agent signee off of Schiano's Bucs who was playing on a one-year mercenary contract for some pretty decent bread

And that right there is the Seattle Seahawks pass rush. Can they do it again? Maybe, but this is not the Packers. Seattle went hard in Free Agency for impact players and filled in the blanks with guys they had/drafted and developed.

That is hilarious and I stand corrected.

But I still feel like people are downplaying the important role played by Free Agency and trades on this team.

The defensive line makes it possible for them to basically plug & play at linebacker (much like NYG under Coughlin) and Carroll didn't draft any of those guys.

Red Bryant, Brandon Mebane, Cliff Avril, Michael Bennett, Chris Clemons.

In fact, they drafted Bruce Irvin but kept acquiring free agent pass rushers so they moved him to outside linebacker. With KJ Wright healthy and Smith now a SB MVP, I am not sure where Irvin will be playing but I guess that is one of them good problems.

Smh.

Funniest part about the Taylor Mays thing was the dude himself being mad at Pete...like Pete somehow didn't watch the tape and see some of the worst hips and coverage instincts in college football. I saw Mays's senior year opener in person and knew right then and there that he had relied on his athleticism his entire life...the angles and wastes steps for an alleged first-rounder blew my mind.

That was when 'SC had the best defense in the nation. Mays was a Jim Thorpe finalist that yr (Eric Berry won) and Will was the only one I remember saying his coverage skills were trash. Probably cause he's a tenn homer and liked berry by still.

They'll have some decisions to make and they're going to have to pay some guys and they're going to have to let some guys walk, if they play it right though I think they can be a contender for a while

Roethlisberger is a better comparison. Although he cant touch Roethlisberger to me either.

But he has to win the next two to get three because the Seahawks will eff up and pay him 100 mil like idiots.

the 19th ranked D?

The same D who had 4 guys miss tackles on multiple plays?

Russell has a gun but he rarely throws balls on time of the play. He usually extends the play and hits someone once their out of their route. Similar to Roethlisberger.
