Steve Nash at least drew charges & Calderon has the physical ability to move his feet when he TRIED to play D. Andre on the other hand has the lateral quickness of an 80 year old grandma & I don't ever remember him drawing a charge.
On offense, he also doesn't have a dependable jump-shot to run a PnR (a no-no in today's NBA) but yet dribbles the air out of the ball just to end up calling his number. He can bully smaller defenders in an iso but put a bigger defender on him & dude is rendered useless. The reason for his high assist rate is b/c he ALWAYS has the ball in his hands & NEVER plays off the ball.

I'm talking about how badly you guys talk about his BASKETBALL body of work, which is stellar, and far exceeds anything anyone expected of him
Remember: George Karl loved Miller, said he was an all-time great point guard...hyperbole, but this might be the root of the problem....still Miller's fault, but again, the WHOLE pile on is excessive

are/were all better than him. Even with shorter careers and injuries, they are better than Miller, so saying he is EASILY top 5...nah.

Jesus, I mean I can kinda see that...maybe it's my anti-broke-jumper-no-D bias but
1) I would still take Marion, Brand and Terry over him even with that criteria. Their peaks were the same or better than Millers and they are still playing.
2) Even given the chronic injury problems, give me Davis peak+career over Millers all day, every day and twice on Sundays. Davis also managed to "play" for a long time.

you sign and play a player like Andre Miller when you want to be mediocre. sure, Miller isn't BAD, but then again, at age 37 he's clearly found his level. he doesn't run, he doesn't jump, he dominates the ball, he blows on defense, and all the other pluses he has in his game doesn't make up for that anymore. what's happening now is only surprising to Andre Miller.

solid vet that can serve basic PG/floor general needs but absolutely shitty personality and zero leadership ability 1st interview with the philly media was about how he only cares about his check and was a west coast guy (aka 'i'm out of here as soon as i can leave") that's fair but you can't say that kind of shit your first week on the team when you're brought in as new veteran leadership

Maybe guys might have had better peaks than him career wise, but you can argue he's had a very good career. He's 9th all time in assists
And this is the FIRST season that his character as a teammate has been questioned. And even Brian Shaw said that he would've handled things a little bit differently...it was more that Miller got his first DNP of his CAREER and his coach not telling him. To say he's a terrible teammate is kind of crazy
As for knocks about his shooting and whatnot, he's a career 45% shooter, which is pretty solid. He's always stepped up in the playoffs and been pretty consistent his entire career
I wouldn't go so far as to say he was on the level of Francis/Davis/Marion, etc. but to call him a bust (8th overall pick) is crazy. He's had a very good career...just not an all-star level career. But he's been a very good player, period
