"Poll question: Will Dikembe Mutumbo and Ben Wallace both be Hall of Famers?"
Just curious. Any 4-time MVP would be 1st-ballot HOFer pretty much by definition. Mutumbo and Ben Wallace are tied for the most DPOY awards with 4 each...
If the answer to this question is anything but "Both will be", what does this say about how much we as fans, or media members as shapers of the narrative around players, value defense vs. offense, even though the game is played on both ends?

Too many years in obscurity for Big Ben. He was, in my opinion, a stronger MVP candidate than voting indicated with Detroit, particularly those first couple of successful seasons under Carlisle. We have not seen a rebounder like him since and defensively he had incredible range. Not only did he control the paint as an undersized center and eat glass, he could also apply pressure. How many times did he catch someone slipping in the backcourt, figuring he would just fire back?
He was a very special player that I think is under-admired, but he didn't have enough seasons to be a HOF'er.
Deke is in, no doubt, magnificent career and one of my favorite personalities ever in any sport.
And you will know MY JACKET IS GOLD when I lay my vengeance upon thee.
