college sports in general - but particularly college football where baby-boomers feel inclined to treat the game like their pet boot-camp project in order to prove how "values-driven" and "responsible" these kids should be....as somehow a testament to their nostalgic golden days where the sport - and america en masse - was somehow better or morally superior.
Except the sport and the world has changed. These young men at big-time programs generate more gaudy profit margins than classic big-whig americano corporations like Mcdonald's - yet their athleticism is exploited for the fancy of these old men who bank heavy off of it, and want to control every facet of it.

I think Sean Payton and Brees had secretly sold the plan to Teddy all along that Brees was going to play one more year then retire that's why Teddy chose to stay as his backup rather than go to Miami as starter.
