"This Bridgewater vs. Manziel battle is certified racially awesome"

"Bridgewater won't embarrass your team the way Manziel
will, is a better leader and citizen"

"Manziel's skill set is gimmicky, won't translate...isn't
standard enough like Bridgewater's"

"Pocket passers rule the day, and Bridgewater has all the
classic skills"

Am I in the fucking Twilight zone?

He's not a student of the game.

He's not cerebral.

He has thug tendencies.

Teddy Ballgame is Ted Williams. Teddy Heisman is a college nickname. Teddy Football is just a Manziel ripoff.

I'd go with Trouble. He's trouble on the field, it's alliteration with Teddy, and it's a play on his last name w/ Bridge Over Troubled Water

He has Manziel in the same draft

If there's no Manziel, Teddy isn't nearly as respected

That's why this is racially awesome

Johnny Manziel is legitimately the bad n***er in the
good n***er/bad n****er dichtomy

And him being white and privileged has magically made
it WORSE, like, he embarrasses white people

If he was a hood black kid from Houston acting like that,
he'd get degraded, but not as badly as he is

That Bridgewater is from poverty in Miami makes it about
a thousand times more interesting

I could actually write a book about this

Manziel is almost like the Justin Bieber of college football.

Bridgewater is getting that RG111 treatment right now...because there's nothing bad you can say abt his on the field play or off the field behavior.

The "he acts black" meme is spectacularly wrong

He's a stereotypical white frat douchebag who listens to
black music (white frats love rap music) and has some
black friends....this isn't the same as Bieber or Miley or
Eminem.

He's just a rich, privileged prick..I see your point, but
it doesn't really apply here.

RG3 was a bit different

The power of RG3 is that he was exactly LIKE the golden boy
from the same class, Andrew Luck (both undervalued Texas
quarterbacks from great families)

The power of Bridgewater is that he's the *opposite* of
Manziel

Bridewater was raised by a single mother, dirt poor, from
the same community that produces cornerbacks and pass rushers
exclusively

The contrast is what makes this phenomenon striking

A white QB w/his well-to-do pedigree who just became the 1st freshman in NCAA history to win the heisman ISN'T suppose to behave like this. Its almost like he's purposely trying to do everything to distance himself from the image most ppl would like to have of him or believe the person he's suppose to be. Even his style of play is more similar to that of a "black QB" rather than the traditional pocket passing QB which is associated w/white QBs but they can accept the way he plays because he is scintillating to watch but the other off the field stuff is frowned upon. I bet most of his friends are blk, too, which many probably believe but would never say publicly is why he's behaving like this - same thing w/Bieber, its the crowd he runs with narrative.

college sports in general - but particularly
college football where baby-boomers feel inclined
to treat the game like their pet boot-camp project
in order to prove how "values-driven" and "responsible"
these kids should be....as somehow a testament to their
nostalgic golden days where the sport - and america
en masse - was somehow better or morally superior.

Except the sport and the world has changed. These young men
at big-time programs generate more gaudy profit margins
than classic big-whig americano corporations like Mcdonald's -
yet their athleticism is exploited for the fancy of these
old men who bank heavy off of it, and want to control every
facet of it.

I wish we had more Manziels who were independently wealthy
enough to not have to always acquiesce to the NCAA - which is arguably
the most corrupt association in sports, ever.

Teddy Bridgewater was riding shotgun with Johnny Football in that Heisman race until he and his team struggled to emphatically beat Rutgers...

The truth is that other black QB at Florida State is KILLING shit...

The truth is Johnny Football and Famous Jameis are neck in neck in Heisman voting (at least in my eyes)...

The truth is Johnny gets passes for his behavior (however over the top that criticism has been at times...) because he's white...

Yet Bridgewater and Jameis have better odds of becoming successful QB's in the NFL than Johhny M...

GOAT of his era......long live Prince.....God is alive....

To be fair, Andrew Luck didn't really wow us during his last year,
made all kinds of dumb throws too...in part because Luck didn't
have great receivers

Bridge was playing with his 2nd team receivers on Thursday

I actually think Geno Smith had a bigger upside

Part of it is the system too

But I don't see the "wow" factor with Bridge

Jameis is a whole different sandwich

40. "Trevor Matich said he'd take Teddy 1st for his "intellectual horsepower""
In response to Reply # 0

they're on First Take talking about which QB should be drafted first, Skip says he would take Manziel first, Matich says he would take Bridgewater first because the quarterback position in college is largely physical but in the NFL it's largely intellectual and Bridgewater has the "pure intellectual horsepower" to apply gameplans and execute them, anticipate plays, identify windows you can throw into and get the ball out of your hand in 2.2 seconds like you need to be able to do in the pros.

Then Russell Wilson is brought up as a comparison to Manziel in terms of size and mobility; Stephen A. says that Manziel loves defying the odds and critics, than whatever you say his limitations are he wants to go out and prove you wrong, but Wilson doesn't care about any of that - he walks in with a gameplan, is very composed and methodical and just goes about the business of doing his job. Matich then says that when you look at Russell Wilson you see eyes that are calm and confident, you look in his eyes and see still waters that run deep and you calm right down & that in the huddle he calms his teammates down and gives them confidence; in contrast he said he would compare Manziel to "a thoroughbred" with incredible speed and explosion, but as likely to jump and take off after a rabbit as he is to run around the track like he's supposed to.

Yo, that shit BLEW MY FUCKING MIND! dude said the black QB had leadership qualities and "pure intellectual horsepower" while comparing the white quarterback to A FUCKING ANIMAL that performs on physical talent and instinct.

Seriously, what fucking planet am I on right now?

in college for 4 years at 2 different schools plus had a redshirt year and played baseball in college and professionally in the minor leagues, he was 23 turning 24 his rookie year so he wasn't a typical wide-eyed college kid coming in.

So there's this QB who isn't as big or flashy as the other QB's in his class, but he's got great football IQ and maturity beyond his years. BLACK

http://mmqb.si.com/2014/01/02/teddy-bridgewater-2014-nfl-draft/?eref=sihp

ORLANDO — He’s boring compared to the what-will-he-do-next flash of Texas A&M’s Johnny Manziel. He looks like a skinny bookworm next to the natural, all-around talent of UCLA’s Brett Hundley. And he hasn’t had many chances to exhibit the clutchness of Central Florida’s Blake Bortles.

Compared on film to other potential quarterbacks in his draft class, Louisville quarterback Teddy Bridgewater doesn’t jump off the screen. But NFL teams still like what they see, and when they dig a little deeper, that like will turn to love.

Though he only turned 21 in November, there is no draftable quarterback more ready to be a face-of-the-franchise quarterback than Bridgewater. And he’s coming: Bridgewater announced Wednesday his decision to turn pro.

“Wait until talk to him and get him up on the blackboard,” said an NFL personnel executive who has known Bridgewater since ninth grade. “He lives and breathes football. Always has. Teams are going to fall in love with him.”

But I'm firmly in the JFF will be awesome in the NFL camp (as will Bridgewater, but everyone thinks that).

Texas A&M QB Johnny Manziel
Nawrocki's take: Suspect intangibles -- not a leader by example or known to inspire by his words. Carries a sense of entitlement and prima-donna arrogance seeking out the bright lights of Hollywood. Is known to party too much and is drawn to all the trappings of the game. ... Has defied the odds and proven to be a great college-system quarterback, but still must prove he is willing to work to be great, adjust his hard-partying, Hollywood lifestyle and be able to inspire his teammates by more than his playmaking ability.

used to get a custom joint that was blue fin and blue crab inside, scottish salmon outside. little avo, no rice, soy paper on the outside. shit slapped harder than those crazy ass russian dudes smacking the shit out of each other for sport. had another one that was scottish salmon and blue crab inside, topped with king scallops and lobster on opposite sides that was like aphrodite squirted in your mouth. albacore and ono inside with seared blue fin and crunchy onions. my mellow from taiwan was a wizard, we'd just post up and come up with new shit all the time. sometimes he added it to the menu.

And you will know MY JACKET IS GOLD when I lay my vengeance upon thee.

Great to see him land on his feet and hopefully he's starting somewhere next season on a permanent basis.

So they might wanna hold on to Teddy. Teddy isn't Brees,
but there's only 5 Brees in league history. Teddy can
OBVIOUSLY keep your franchise afloat and competitive
for as much as another 7-10 years...that's valuable.

I think Sean Payton and Brees had secretly sold the plan to Teddy all along that Brees was going to play one more year then retire that's why Teddy chose to stay as his backup rather than go to Miami as starter.
