peep sportscenter..

He went Willie Mays-esque for a game winning catch in his first game back...

Puig and Kemp are gonna be fun to watch.

fun to watch and owning the basement in the NL west. Dusty Baker, Davey Lopez,Rick Monday and Fernando are all turning over in there grave with being in last place and fun being used in the same sentence.

my man Donny Baseball deserves better than that even though they have a fun little last place team, all that money and the same results.

and FYI , the dogers are on the come up and the giants are fading... the dodgers will definitely be in the hunt...dont sleep on PUIG, KEmp, Eithier, and Crawford (when he get back), Hanley is healthy too...just need the pitching to step up a notch or two..

i know they is alive however they would roll over getting excited about being a last place team, dodger fans i know from back in the day don't applaud being in no last place that's all. and in a division where a good month might seal the deal.

giants might be fading however they got 2 rings in the past few years. all the money and taking my new york boys out west to bring them back and only mixed results ain't good enough.

they got joe torre and donny baseball and haven't even been as good as the padres post manny era. i like the offense i'm seeing there, however they just aren't a legit threat in the national league this year.

They haven't been able to put their best lineup on the field yet.

Now with Ramirez and Kemp back, and Puig up....you look at that lineup and its looking a lot better. Only missing piece now is Crawford. They've won 4 in a row, things are starting to turn.

If they stay healthy the rest of the way, they've got a good chance to come back and win the division.

And they are only 2 behind of 1st place in a tougher division.

There's not many excuses that LA has to be this bad...and that goes for both LA teams

and still within striking distance of sorry butt boston.

this is the difference between a yankee fan and a dodger fan, if we are in last place we ain't giddy over a rookie that is hyped and playing great and a veteren making some great plays, naw we have expectations.

the yankees aren't even fully on point and still are 5 times better than them messes in baseball out in La

What the Yankees are or aren't doing has nothing to do with my point.

5 in a row now, for the Dodgers.

Can't blame the injuries alone. The guys who are healthy bat a good average, but can't drive anyone in. And the bullpen has 14 losses, I believe? Pretty bad. Look at last night. B. League tried to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.

You're right, definitely not the only problem.

But they've basically had one good hitter in the lineup all year in Gonzales. Everyone else has been hurt for a lot of the year, in and out of the lineup.

League sucks.

I think they're poised to make a run for the division now though, assuming Kemp gets right and produces like normal now that he's back. You get Kemp going, with Ramirez, Puig, and Gonzales....that's a lot of firepower and they should start to make up ground. Crawford will help too when he's back.

Dewan +/- has him at -75 basic for his career and -147 enhanced for his career

Fangraphs has his UZR at -66

Baseball-Reference has his Total Zone at -5.5

Baseball Prospectus has him at -33.8 Field Runs Against Average

2013 Scouting Report:

"As a defender, I’ve never thought he was playing his true position. He’s just fair, at best, in center. But by putting him in center, what are you getting in the corners? Are you getting an extra 30 or 40 more runs on the field offensively, compared to the 20 or 30 you’re giving up by having a less-than-great defender in center? With both Kemp and Ethier, you don’t hear, “Gold Glove defender,” very often any more. I’ve never made a report where I’ve written that on either of them."

Going by any conceivable objective measurement, he's bad.

But, yeah that was a nice catch tonight.
