"How Will the NBA Lottery Be Rigged?"
Mon May-20-13 01:09 PM by Guinness

stern corleone has been egregious with his tampering over the last few years: sending the number one pick to a butthurt, jersey-burning cleveland franchise, then raising the value of the nba-owned hornets with anthony davis.

obvious prediction: sacramento/seattle gets the number one pick.

Also, neutral observers from the press are present.

For it to be rigged one of two scenarios would have to be play:

1. Stern had a special machine built that shoots up specific number combinations, not just for pick #1 but also for #2 and #3 because the balls are the same. This scenario is some movie shit, and is hilarious to even consider.

2. Every lotto team in the league, as well as the observers, are in on the fix. This is actually more plausible than #1, which says quite a bit.

Almost certain we'd trade out of it if we get #1. Porter, McLemore and Oladipo are probably our top 3, with a true center like Len being more likely after that.

AD and Noel, while scary shot blocking-wise, would get pushed around too much. Not enough offense either. And Noel would bring big time value in a trade.

AD had serious issues with holding post position this year at 220-230, and look how narrow Noel is compared to him.

Makes you wonder how much weight Noel will even be able to add. Not sure it matters too much these days with lack of traditional centers, but 205-220 aint gonna cut it.

I think he'll be a better defender than AD though, just because of his feet and instincts in the passing lanes.

I was talking to my boy about this recently

I was always a weight junkie because of football,
where weight training is introduced mad early and
is a part of your football identity

Not in hoop

Weight lifting is hard, takes time, is tiring, makes
you sore

And these niggas dominate without it

They just need to fall in love with the weight room

Shit ain't that easy for a lot of these niggas

every shitty team wants to win in 2014, not now, so if i was stern, i'd have some fun. throw mark cuban an olive branch before retiring to illuminati gardens. have philly fans start next season with TWO injured bigs or add yet another body to utah's frontcourt logjam. make eric gordon cut the word "mcelmore" into his arms with broken abita bottles. this would also be a fun time for charlotte to finally get the #1 pick or see how much in cash considerations the suns could get for it.

Per the Dwight trade:

I think Seattle/Sac get's hooked up via trade and capspace.

They get Tony Bennett or Shabazz this season and have plenty of people leaving in 2014

they can amnesty Chuck Hayes now, and Salmons is off the books after next season
they can pay Isaiah Thomas about 3-4 million and have him absorb they money on Hayes capspace
trade or pay Cousins his value 12-15 million
let Tyreke dip, and save up money and tank this next season while just adding cheap youth

then get the #1 pick next season and add Jabari, Wiggins, or Randle with a TON of cap space

Orlando will probably get Noel and use him as a stretch 4 with Vucevic at the 5 and Big Baby in the offensive post. Orlando will more likely still get a top pick next season as well to be in the Jabari, Randle, Wiggins race so taking a chance on Noel wouldn't be a risk at all.

the 'IN' thing seems to be developing PF's with a jumper. Yeah Nerlens can play C but I doubt he will have early success offensively trying to bang inside. Plus Vucevic is a keeper and does all the dirty work Big Baby as well, so why not have him as a project.

Nerlens is a skinny PF and project.

Stretch 4 may be a stretch, but If ORL get him, they will work on his shot outside the paint.

Nerlens is not a back to the basket post player, he is lightweight as fuck and if he has a decent midrange jumper or develops one, he already has ball handling skills and plays facing the basket. I think his athleticism will allow him to D up most of the PF's in the league but on offense he will be lost in the post until he gains some weight.

Dude is young as fuck and similar to KG's size when he came to the league. If he works on his shooting range and beating PF's off dribble, then with Vucevic grabbing boards, he will make them tougher to defend.

Once Nerlens gains weight and develops a better post game, then you can probably rely on him scoring in the post, but he can be like a Garnett or Blake/Kemp who stretch the floor because they could hit a decent jumper and beat guys off the dribble and finish facing the basket.

Every "stretch" for doesn't have to appease your obsession of only shooting 3pt shots, asshole.

Stern can't like that so much talk is about James Harden being dealt for financial reasons. He'll want to help the Thunder replace him (and boost the team surrounding young marquee player Kevin Durant) with either McLemore or Oladipo.

And I do think the Kings also would move up to either 2 or 3 as well help boost ticket sales for their new owner.

#1 would be up for grabs.

For a legit big man. I just think, if it was rigged, Stern would want to get Durant help and try to kill the Harden trade talk.

Ainge was tanking for Durant. If we'd have won the lotto, we likely would have looked to deal Pierce (who didn't want to be part of another rebuilding campaign) and rebuild around KD and Rondo.
