"your top 5 shortstops ever"

i feel the 90's was a classic era of shortstops for a while however the position has changed drastically with more offense production from shortstops.

i mean Ozzie Smith was a standard to me and then a cat like Derek Jeter did his thing.

i use to dig Dave Conception and Gary Templeton as well.

NoMar was badd for a minute and A Rod was pretty good there.

who is your all time 5 at shortstop?

mistermaxxx R.Kelly, Michael Jackson,Stevie wonder,Rick James,Marvin Gaye,El Debarge, Barry WHite Lionel RIchie,Isleys EWF,Lady T.,Kid creole and coconuts,the crusaders,kc sunshine band,bee gees,jW,sd,NE,JB

Miami Heat, New York Yankees, buffalo bills

Dude was such a defensive monster that it wasn't even funny. He never was a great offensive player, but his fielding was top notch.

You're such pests...now, what is it you want? In your depths of your ignorance, what is it you want? Well, whatever it is you want, I can't deliver because I just don't see it. - Orson Welles

i will only look at guys i've actually seen play and say that the wizard, omar vizquel (personal favorite) and barry larkin would be on my list either way.

a rod would absolutely be on my best list, but not my favorites. i'd replace him with jose offerman, because i liked the way he killed dodgers fans with record numbers of errors.

i would fuck around and put jroll on both lists but he probably only deserves to be on the favorites chart.

cal ripken was a helluva player but i thought he was slightly overrated. i started watching baseball avidly in his MVP season, but i guess that was not too long before he started to decline. you've got other guys who could hit like miggy. of course jeter, but fuck jeter.

i dunno, i think this machado kid is a stud, first guy i've seen in a little while that i think might have HOF potential at short.

And you will know MY JACKET IS GOLD when I lay my vengeance upon thee.

now I the problem i see with Ripken is that he lost eddie Murray as a shield in the way Dale Murphy did with Bob Horner and RIpken did fall off however he is a Great player.

Larkin is a cat i dug and yet i don't always say him but he was badd.

i was a kid when if a Shortstop hit more than 5 home runs in a season then he was rare, now fast forward to the 90's til now and it seems the norm.

if we're just talking defense, Rey Ordonez had a 3-4 year prime that was possibly the best I've ever seen the position played. Sick range, and amazing plays nightly.
