Big rule or small, enforceable or not, the one rule you'd add/eliminate/change if you were Sports Supreme Ruler.

2. "NFL: Field goal center pole"
In response to Reply # 0

Pole that is vertical directly in the middle of the uprights.

Makes the field goal a pitchfork...

...the new rule...

Any field goal kick that hits the center pole directly is awarded 5 points.

Any kick to the left or right of the pole but still within the uprights is still awarded 3 points.

Make them kickers earn their checks.

4 point lead isn't as safe as you thought.

Improve red zone scoring, coaches will take more field goal attempts better strategy

Makes the 2 pt conversion more effective.

24 is played around the world college players can do it. High school players do it in most other countries that plays any level of basketball.
Its only a coach control issue. Coaches have way more control in 35 seconds and players rarely forced to have to make quick decisions. This is one of the major reasons that international basketball is closing the gap. Their kids are way better decision makers.

1) Move the start back from the 25 to the 40. You gotta at least be able to move forward a bit.

2) More of a pet peeve of mine, but don't count the stats in OT the same way you do a regular game. Hate seeing games that end up tied in a 17-17 defense struggle end up with a 52-49 score just cause these guys ended up playing 4 OTs.

there are a lot of rules officials everywhere on course, if they can't add an extra guy in a booth somewhere to watch TV feeds, then fuck it. People should not be calling from their house to report what they saw or didn't see. Officials should make the call on the course, or have one guy who watches all the TV to make a call.

a legit leadoff guy

when abreu was there, he would have been great in the role but he refused it and was also their best no. 3 guy generally so he did kind of have a point.

victorino was terrible as a leadoff guy, i wasnt in love with him as a no. 2 but he lacked power for the middle of the order. when he hit seventh, eh, didnt get him enough looks and opportunities to get on base and make his speed count.

polanco didn't have enough speed to be a leadoff guy, he fit just about everywhere else in the lineup, too.

but yeah, iono, jroll had his moments as a leadoff guy but i did feel like he was just OK at it. he wanted to be rickey henderson with it a little too badly. still, LOVE jroll, wouldn't have switched him for anyone else, just woulda liked to see a more natural leadoff guy as well.

Yeah, if the Phils had a true leadoff guy - have they had anything close to that since Dykstra? - J Roll's stats would be more impressive.
But that said, dude's great. One of the best Phillies of all time.

20. "The Intentional Walk"
In response to Reply # 0

You'll find none who appreciates strategy in baseball more than me, it's one of the reasons I love baseball, but the intentional walk is horseshit. Just because the Marlins have 8 shitty hitters doesn't mean you can walk Giancarlo Stanton in order to set up a double play. Pull your skirt down and pitch to him - LIKE A MAN (and mind you, I say this as a Phillies fan, I don't even like the Marlins).
The intentional walk would be outlawed. Any situation where it would appear the pitcher is trying to set up the double play ("accidentally" walking the batter, hitting the batter) results in the pitcher being ejected from the game, fined, and 2 runs will be given to the opposing team.
It's not Giancarlo Stanton's fault he's the only hitter on his team. It also means you won't have to "Angels" your lineup in order to compete.

Player must remain on the court. They can huddle up, but they cannot consult with coaches unless time out is called.

In response to Reply # 0

end of the game, team A has the ball and is down 3. team B decides to foul them and give them 2 shots instead of letting them shoot a three. when this does happen, it makes the game less exciting for fans.

if team B intentionally fouls team A, A should get 1 shot and the ball back.

If it's going to be a judgment call, let the officials decide if it's it's intentional and then make it spot call. Otherwise, just 15 yards..

The fact that this is a spot foul is insane.

Kills the integrity of the game..

As soon as it looks like Lebron's squad is going down to a lesser talented/flashy team... here comes all the phantom fouls that send him to the line...

Kind of wack as fuck that people who watch the sport accept that as rule. FOH with a highlight.

also, abolish the post-Sheed rules on technical fouls aka "Nigga Law" (© Mos Def)

In the NFL. I hate these bullshit ass rules that favor offenses. The defenses can't do shit. They can't touch guys they can't bump guys. It's fuckin ridiculous. Offensive players should have to beat their guy, physically and mentally. Beat him and earn your points/yards.

Change it to a 15 yard penalty. Automatic first down.
Inside 2 minute warning, it goes back to spot of the foul.

In response to Reply # 0

defensive goaltending i can understand, but you shouldn't be penalized cause someone on your team touched the ball over the cylinder. the goal is to get the ball in the basket.

-The Knicks’ coaching search still includes a lone frontrunner, Kurt Rambis, whose qualifications for the position include a strong relationship with Jackson and a willingness to take the job.

I wonder if it's to limit activity in the lane to some degree because fools would be trying to tip dunk FTs.. lol

That rule might be more about the aesthetics than game play.
