"Poll question: Will the Lakers make the playoffs?"

Lakers are 41-37 Jazz are 41-38 and own the tie-breaker

Lakers' remaining schedule:

@Portland (2nd night of a back to back)
vs Golden State
vs San Antonio
vs Houston

Utah has 3 games left:

vs Minnesota
@ Minnesota
@ Memphis

LA could easily lose to each of those 4 teams. I say they go 2-2 finishing 43-39

Utah will beat Minny home and away but lose to Memphis ending up with an identical 43-39

Poll result (15 votes)
yes (4 votes)Vote
no (11 votes)Vote

i wanna see the record for them the past 3-5 yrs. Where can I look that up.

Minn is still playing too.
I can see 1-2 for Minn

but Lakers can go anywhere from 0-4 to 3-1

Tonights Portland game is a must win and they struggle in Portland.

I guess you always want to make the playoffs and it provides a positive benefit in signing D12 I'm all for it. From a contender standpoint I'm not sure it matter that much.

It wouldn't be a great pick, position wise, but it'd give them a chance to inject some new blood into the team with some upside. That and that it will increase the possibility of Dwight re-signing definitely point towards making the play-offs the better outcome. I think y'all make it regardless.

I know and understand that some Lakers' fans just want the season to be over, but there's no upside in having a team built like this not make the post-season.

Lakers usually suck in Portland. And on a back to back after using way to much to beat the Hornets.....this could be the end of the road.

If you tell Dwight, "It was a bad year with a coaching change, too many injuries, and lots of adjustment...we'll come back better next year" rather than getting smashed in 4-5 games, I think it's better.

this roster isn't gonna change that much if dwight stays...

if yall think they can't do shit in the playoffs...how different is next year gonna be? they old and kobe has been about as healthy as he's gonna be again. i don't see them magically getting breaks on the wear and tear front doing it again.

i feel like they have a puncher's chance against anyone.

Hopefully, the same will be true of Kobe, Nash, MWP, & Pau.

2nd, don't forget Jordan Hill is out. He young, he can rebound & protect the rim w/ D12 and maybe he'll gives us leverage to ship Pau & get 1 or 2 younger perimeter players.. Earl Clark could continue to improve.

I could see the Lakers trading Pau & MWP potentially next year since both have expiring contracts..

Serious Question:

What does D'Antoni do that Bernie Bickerstaff can't do for 1/4 the price?

Mike D'Antoni should be banned from the sidelines permanently after this debacle.

Mike Brown. They're not going to want to pay 3 head coaches salaries at the same time

For the millionth fucking time.

They probably should have jocked Phil the instant that they made their moves but honestly I really, really don't think it would have made a significant difference.

Bernie didn't get all the jobs he did in this league for this long by not knowing how to play the game.

The LA Lakers were never firing their coach & passing the reigns of this team to Bernie Bickerstaff for a full season no matter what happened in those games.

the rest are Ls

Hopefully MEM takes the night off vs the Jazz.

Either way it'll be close. I'd lowkey prefer the Lakers to get in in. Mainly because the might be able to handle the Spurs and make it more competitive.

In response to Reply # 41

strictly speaking other than kobe and 99.8% of their fans, i don't have a problem with the lakers. i have always really liked nash, enjoyed watching pau, had fun watching artest and appreciated howard even if he's not my favorite personality. their going on a run would be a huge boost to any kobe hate 'genda.
