but he still is managing to put solid starts together

The early returns on this team (particularly Halladay's lost velocity/mojo & the fact that Durbin is even on this roster) are disconcerting to say the least.

I think last year it took until the All-Star break until he picked up his 2nd win of the season. Two dominating starts in a row now to start the new season.

Another positive - Michael Young is providing some much needed offense and so is Mayberry Jr. Now we just need Cole to get his shit together so Halladay's absence doesn't obliterate this team.

Trying to stay positive, but our pitching situation is frightening right now...

looked like his old self today. Let's hope his recent struggles are now a thing of the past. Of course the Marlins are definitely not the best guage of that though.

One thing that definitely bothers me is our lack of run production at times. Up until Nix's blast in the 8th, we had just 1 run on 11 hits. That's pathetic and needs to change.

outside of maybe two seasons with manuel, the inability to get runners in and the reliance on home runs to score run have been pretty constant.

i still dont have a firm feel for this team, but i'm not going to get too excited either way until july anyway.

We now stand at 9-13 and have been losing in mind-blowing fashion. We've routinely blown games that we had in firm control. We have routinely wasted quality starts by our pitchers. This is just a fucking disgrace.

Tonight we rack up a measly 3 runs on 10 hits. When the Pirates took the lead they had managed to generate 4 runs on just 5 hits.

Halladay was relieved after 6 innings despite giving up just 1 hit at that point. We had a 3-1 lead. I just don't fucking get it with this team.

Chollie better find some hitters and relief pitchers or else this team is gonna sink fast. Ugh.

Last night the fucking Marlins had a 1 hit shout out. Through 7 today, another pitcher I've never heard of has got a 2 hit shutout going against us. Pathetic, abysmal, putrid, etc. This is fucking sickening.

Pretty crazy to think that the Phils are now 5-15 in games where our $60 million plus trio of Hamels, Halladay, and Lee start. This is the type of series that can potentially destroy the team's confidence. Not sure how the team can play worse ball at this point. Surprisingly our record is that horrible just yet.

6-11 since then. Can't wait for the basketball season to be over so I can start paying attention to my boys. I don't know what's happening lately though.

figure out. The offense is still atrocious. I don't think we have a single player even remotely flirting with .300. Thankfully, Dom has been killin' though as of late. Still, the lack of hitting coupled with poor plate discipline is alarming. Maybe this recent resurgence will spark some new life into our bats. Of course I could be putting too much stock into this since the Marlins are the perfect slump busters.

Cole back to form? I sure hope so. Cliff Lee lookin' like he got his swagger back. He's been having an outstanding season. Kendrick has looked great in spurts. Bullpen is complete ass without Paplebon (and Adams too).

I dunno. This team still doesn't spark much confidence in me. Prior to the season, I thought we could pull off 90-94 wins. I just don't see it with this team. Hopefully I'm proven wrong though.
