...and is a former hotshot Arizona prospect. I believe the A's got him in the Trevor Cahill trade, but it could have been for Dan Haren. I can't even remember what we got from y'all for him.

Great trade from the A's perspective. I really liked Cowgill but there just wasn't room for him in Oakland... could turn into a nice player though. Always plays hard, good speed and a heady player... He just needed to be somewhere he could get consistent ABs.

I was watching on MLB Network and they were using the Mets booth. Ron Darling was gassing up that one that froze Werth a little too much. I think Werth actually read slider early and expected it to break out of the zone but it didn't move as much as some of his earlier pitches had.
Unrelated, but Ron was going hard about stat sheets not telling you what you need to know about a pitcher. He said that there's a difference between a guy who goes out and gets a win and a guy who gets a no decision. Then 2 minutes later he said that the hold stat was garbage.
While neither are great, at least I can explain the hold stat in a single sentence.
